Re: Who will be the next coach of the Redskins and does it even freakin matter?
The NFL can't and won't "step in" due to bad ownership.

No way Callahan comes back. It’s clean house time.

Washington Redskins (3-12). I’m sorry to be a Scrooge on this topic, but truly, the only good gift for Redskins fans would be for their owner Daniel Snyder not to run the team. I don’t mean sell the team, I mean take an extended vacation, let someone who knows what he is doing run the operation. He needs to rebuild, not repair. It may be unlikely, but hey, it’s the holidays. We can hope for a Christmas Miracle.

Re: Who will be the next coach of the Redskins and does it even freakin matter?
The big question is whether Bruce Allen is fired or not. He is the key to the dysfunction in this team.
With him gone, I think the Redskins HC have some intriguing aspects to a terrible team. 1. Haskins & McLaurin & Steve Sims - all rookies and all who ended the season on a very high level. Building block for the offense. 2. #2 draft pick-either Chase Young or Trade Down for a lot of current and future picks. Further draft picks for Trent Williams and Kerrigan. 3. FA dump down - trading or just dumping most of the FA’s frees up $80-90 mill in cap 4. Kyle Smith -head of scouting. Whether he moves up to the GM, he has proved he has a nose to draft good to very good picks. Most of the 2019 draft class played this year. Some played very well (see -#1 above - all rookies) and will survive the HC transformation. This team has good aspects to move into the 2020. But only if Bruce Allen is fired - completely. Everything else is rubbish! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Who will be the next coach of the Redskins and does it even freakin matter?
No way should Allen stay. 3-7 doesn't cut it for any team. Time to blow up the coaching front office. Get a real GM who can then get his head coach and front office (some can be retained) and in turn can get his coaching staff.... The best thing would be Snyder to sell the team but I don't see that happening :(

Super Bowl is somewhere and this year they will make the playoffs with losing just about every impact player on the roster. 3 string QB too. |
SOURCE: #HTTR will fire entire coaching staff Monday & name Urban Meyer coach. Expect a front office shakeup too with a change in Director of Player Personnel w/a promotion from within. Alex Smith moving to front office. Decision made in Bahamas by Snyder.
I don't want to endorse what I believe to be a dumbshit rumor but I think it's worth discussing. If this scenario does happen I will solidly be in the "Dan Snyder hasn't learned a single goddamn thing in 20 years" camp. |

You had me at "...Will fire the entire coaching staff Monday".
That's all I really need right now. |

Re: Who will be the next coach of the Redskins and does it even freakin matter?
Here's a nice list of potential candidates for teams in search of a new head coach. We can eliminate Raheem Morris from the list since he was promoted to defense coordinator for Falcons today. Also we can forget about Saleh, there's no way he will come here.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001091785/article/nfl-head-coach-candidates-to-know-before-carousel-gets-going I am not sure who I want.. I just want a coach who wants to rebuild the Redskins program from scratch, and will bring in coordinators/position coaches who can utilize players well. |
