Re: Campbell's numbers dont lie
Do I get any fantasy points for Campbell nailing the ref in the head with a pass?

Re: Campbell's numbers dont lie
Campbell did not see the field at all today. He was a complete mess. The throw to Moss was fine and all, but it was a one-on-one, double move. He did not have to make any reads on that play. That was as bad a game as you will see from an NFL QB not named Jamarcus Russell (or maybe Josh Johnson). Point being, that is not a game that you get from a QB that is in his 5th season and is playing a horrible pass defense. The guy is a complete mess, mentally, physically, everything is bad. You are watching the end of Jason Campbell in Washington, D.C. Jimmy Clausen in 2010.
As someone who watches Jimmy Clausen play every single week, I would say that he struggles with everything Jason Campbell does and then some. He's simply not the prospect Brady Quinn was coming out of the Weis system, and considering that hasn't gone well to this point, I'm not sure Clausen has pro potential.

Great point and they aren't playing anyone. I am really not impressed with any of the QBs in the draft next year. Like I said I think DS and Vinny saw this. That's why they were going so hard after Cutler and Sanchez!!! Bradford should have came out last year. We might have picked him up...But that's spilled milk. Do we still take a chance with him? I am iffy on that. Its not looking good in Free Agency or in the draft. We need a sure shot. If not he will get run out of town quick. But we also need a RB too and OLs. We are in a pickle and having a uncapped season may not even matter -- when it comes to gettin ga QB anyway. Because no one is out there. Should have kept Chase. Hope Colt learns something while he is on IR. |

I haven't watched Claussen play. That is frustrated speculation. But someone other than Jason Campbell will be QB next year. I know you really like the guy, but he is not getting a clear picture back there and I do not think he has all year. Holds the ball too long, no timing or rhythm in his game. You can blame Zorn for it if you like, I am fine with that explanation, but he is not the future at QB for this franchise. The numbers today just support what has been a problem all year. And this is coming from someone who was a big time Campbell fan for a long time. |
Re: Campbell's numbers dont lie
JC was aweful today...but he is the type of QB who will have days like this. He will never be a star in this league, but we dont need him to be if Oline would play half-decent and we a group of recievers who didnt play like a bunch of colleges chumps. Our recieving corp has been a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE disappointment so far this year. We dont have a second receiver ever on the field. Thank god for Cooley.

Campbell played decent the first few games. So it shouldn't be a suprise that he had a bad game. have been in JC's corner also. But think we should get someone next year and maybe keep Campbell as a backup since it is a uncapped season. Just dont see any prospects worth a damn out there. NO any thoroughbreds anyway. |
Re: Campbell's numbers dont lie
This is probably a 'career game' in the worst possible sense of a 'career game'. That means that this probably won't happen again, just like Brett Favre throwing 6 TDs in a game...(no sarcasm)

You are so right. ARE played good the first 2 games then he got phased otu somehow. The young WRs are looking like busts. We need to play Mitchell more. I dont give damn where he was drafted. He needs to get on the field. Like we are stuck in stupid sometimes. Like our coaching staff doesn't figure stuff out until 2 games later or when its too late. With the QB situation we let Chase go. They let Alridge go then bring him back and Keep 2 rbs that aint doing squat (Betts & Rock -- im not going there -- but my point should be getting clearer now). Same thing with Mitchell. He probably wont get a thought until after the bye. I am sorry but I think Kelly is a bust too. 3rd down situational/redzone player at best and saying that he passed Thomas on the depth chart says a lot. DT needs to be moved to kick returns and the fifth receiver and let Marko take his spot. |

ROTFL. You probably are right. The 10 plays they had for him have all been used...lol. I know we are joking but does Zorn know that teams scout us and study film too? They will be like I saw this play is coming. Moss is going to get the ball on this play. Cooley is going to get it on this play..lmao |
Re: Campbell's numbers dont lie
Let him throw some interceptions!
It's a good thing they weren't protecting him so much today. Let him make some mistakes and stop trying to turn him into a robot. Let the guy air it out. Go for broke. I don't care if he throws twenty more picks this year. He can shrug that off. It's those two beautiful td passes that will make him grow the most. |

what's bad is that we're laughing but we're NOT joking :( |

Gibbs had JC so shook he couldn't develop. That's why he is making rookie mistakes now. Like Manning's first year he threw something like 26td - 28 ints. But look at him now. He learned from his mistakes.. Hmmm that's a interesting term "Learning from your mistakes" But also Gibbs knows how overly-critical us as Redskins fans are. So maybe he was bring the kid along slowly. But TOO SLOW. We have had him dumping the ball of since he started. So what has he learned. If we had let him loose. He would be like I can't do this last time I threw a interception because I read the defense wrong. Click. But you can't learn anything from throwing screen plays all game. Like he used to. They are opening up now. But only thing is Zorn is trying to play QB instead of coach and not letting JC make his own mistakes. This game might have been actually a goof things for JC. |

And if that's indeed the case, then you're absolutely right, we can't have that back.
But at this point, it's way too early to just conclude that you're right. 5 TD's vs. 5 INTs to this point, and if that becomes 11:5 in the next two games, then no one remembers this one. If it becomes 6:8, then you have a problem at the quarterback position. |

This year no consistent run game. Joe Gibbs babying him. Joe Gibbs was stuck in a hard place though. We even ran him out of town. So I think let's keep JC as a game manager instead of lettign him sling it like Denver did with Cutler. The only way you learn is from mistakes and Gibbs protected Campbell too much. That's why he sometimes make rookie mistakes. I thin this situation would have been horrible for any QB to be honest. Nothing has been consitent or QB friendly here. I just hope JC plearns from his mistakes. But if all else fail we should keep him as a backup QB since we have a uncapped season next year..that is if his agent isn't stupid and try to ask for more than what he is worth. I truly dont see may options for free agent/college QBs out there though. |
