Doubt that. The man had 11 sacks last season.
As a 4-3 defensive tackle. He never had 11 sacks in the 3-4. Playing in the 3-4 with D.Ware right on his hip, the most sacks he ever had was 4.5.

Besides, Joseph is younger.

I agree that Golston is finally moving on. He's kinda like Reed D, we appreciate everything but we really need to have your talent upgraded. Love ya but time to move on.

If we sign Spencer as well, I would welcome keeping Bowen at a discount. The guy is scheduled to make 7mil this year.

Well we ran a four man front 62% of the time so...

The difference, IMO, was less with the scheme and more with Marinelli's philosophy to not read and react but just hit the assignment aggressively and at full speed. That's what seemed to turn Hatcher from just a guy into a GUY.

I'm kinda diggin what we have done so far. Fairly conservative approach, but I like the focus on the defensive side - particularly locking up our two most important FAs in Orakpo and Riley. I think we have improved the secondary with Porter, added some LB depth and the potential for a more robust pass rush with the D Lineman signings. The O-Line got a little love, and we added a nice speedy slot receiver (possible return man).

We didn't make the big splash some on here have craved, but I think we have quietly done a pretty good job thus far - and we still have the draft.

Hey, Lotus! Don't worry, be happy! The Skins will use Hatcher properly and our pass rush will terrorize our opponents. I'm already imagining Romo on his grass-stained rear end (heh, heh).

yay somebody likes one of our signings:

Redskins sign ex-Cowboys defensive lineman Jason Hatcher to four-year, $27.5 million deal | Audibles - SI.com

I am really interested to see how the deal shakes out. But he ought to be a good player the next 2 years I imagine.

You may be right. Maybe the plan was to allow the first wave of huge contracts go by and then hit the 2nd echelon FAs hard. We shall see.

Either way, I'm happy with the somewhat conservative approach. I would like to see them lock up Orakpo still.

Hey, Hatcher is a good second place to the Joseph loss. And there is still a chance that we could land Chris Clemons. Do so and I will call this a successful free agency. Successful but far from perfect.

Seems like something is in the works with Ryan Clark.

I hope so. I always thought the skins made a mistake letting him leave. He could provide some mentorship for our 2nd year young bucks
