Hogs is my 2nd favorite choice. Might be my favorite by the time the actual name is announced.

There was no report that the new name won't be animal. Please provide links to what you post here. It's hard enough to keep track of what is actually being said, we don't need some fake news/vague rumors/twisted interpretations of comments taken out of contest...

What we know is:

-it won't be Warriors
-it won't have any NA reference
-they are taking time to make it right and have a name for 100+ years
-[URL="https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/sports/washington-football-team-narrows-new-nickname-list-down-to-three/2774729/"]they are down to a 3 names final short list[/URL]
-the new name will be announced in early 2022, before the draft
-the "make the brand" videos include a lot of hints that the Redwolves/Wolves crowd is being heard (doesn't mean anything more than that)

All that, from various Jason Wright "[URL="https://www.washingtonfootball.com/news/presidents-brief-moving-foward-washington-football"]president's briefs[/URL]" and the 3 "[URL="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8dezGvvXYy0"]making the brand[/URL]" videos.

It's honestly crazy to me, considering how Jason Wright and his team have been fairly transparent through this renaming process (as transparent as they can expected to be in a multi billions company rebranding), how people are prompt to believe some shady twitter rumors... like the man is already giving us quite a lot to discuss, how about we discuss that and our opinions about it ?

I’ve seen the legends name thrown around before, we mentioned it here actually a while back. I also don’t see how WFT is an option now, that would make them all look like
Dummies if they just stick with it.

Hogs is kinda cool but it’s kinda short.
Wolves is solid, not great but the marketing would be legit.

Commanders is bleh.

Yup, definitely a lot of confirmation bias and wishful speculating - mostly around Redwolves. As a proponent of anything with Wolves,, I have certainly done that on here. So have those that hate it.

I just hope they don't do a huge buildup and reveal to a name that is lame in everyone's eyes.

Like looking at wolfy hints in the videos and going "oh I think it's looking good for Redwolves" is one thing, but flat out saying "report is it won't be an animal name" is a whole other level IMO... Like where the f does that come from ?...

I can't see it, they'd be setting themselves up to be a punching bag for bad jokes. A team that has lost as many games as they have in the last 30 years is going to re-name themselves Legends? LOL that would be zero self awareness. Wright isn't that dumb.

I agree it’s lame … Washington Ambassadors is somewhat better (WFL name in the 70’s) . but still not great , all the talk about a nod to the past ( history etc) .. I’m not sure what that really means . Maybe Washington Veterans .. I like Wolves at this point

As much BS this team has put its fan base through they should not play games with this name stuff .. throwing out hints and they have not decided on a name ? List of three names .. really so all three names are close enough that they all check the box for the hints… I’m not buying .. more Snyder BS . We know WFT is out so why not either name team or if there really is a choice of three let the fans ( season ticket holders) vote the name .. it’s a lame way of doing business

If the team struggles and the stands are empty then watch Snyder play the Name game to try and keep the interest up .. this is all BS ! The marketing and branding going on is spot checking for any pitfalls because they can't just announce the name and hope the legal stuff follows.

It is very clear that they have a plan in place and are following it. Along the way, I believe, they are trying to give the fan base an decent view of the process so that people know it was a diligent effort.

It helps bring the fanbase closer to the team.. It's a very smart move. Some people will be happy others mad about the name but overall eventually everyone will get used to whatever it is...

I actually appreciate the fact they are being as transparent as they can legitimately be expected to be in this process...
