I don't believe that at all. Does everyone understand what a sh**pile of an organization MS took over? He basically came into a team w/:

No QB
One of the worst, oldest o lines in the NFL
No #1 WR's
One overpaid malcontent

This team might go 8-8 next year, but not likely. Too many holes to fill. It's going to take another 2-3 years of good drafting.

What are you talking about?!?!?! The SECOND Shanny signed that contract it should have been an instant miracle... SUPER BOWL!!!! Since that didn't happen it is obvious he is a terrible coach and he should be fired immediately and replaced with Zorn. It's all happening for a reason. I can't believe you people DON'T SEE THIS?!?!!?!!!!!

I totally agree with you. I think there is just no pleasing anyone or I should say no pleasing everyone. People finally got on a bandwagon together to get rid of Cerrato and Zorn and have Snyder stay out of the football decisions. We got that. Snyder hires Allen/Shanahan and people complained. Snyder said he would leave the football decisions to them. People complained about Haslett getting the DC job. People complained when they picked up McNabb. People complained at how Haynesworth was being treated. People complained about McNabb's benching. People complained about Haynesworth being suspended. People complained about McNabb being relegated to 3rd string.

I'm beginning to think people complain to just hear themselves complain since they don't have anything better to do. I'm actually excited about the disciplin. If you remember correctly when the Giants hired Tom Coughlin he came in and instilled disciplin also. The players complained (some), the fans complained, and reports were the HC might get fired. The second yr the team played better and the players stated they liked Coughlin. 2004 Coughlin got hired and made the play offs each yr and won the SB 3 yrs after his hiring in 2007.

People need to give this a chance. We can't keep on the course of picking up a new HC every 2 to 3 yrs. Most would agree it takes a HC 3 yrs to get a team in the right direction.... thats "if" they are rebuilding. I know we are not rebuilding but if you look at the sum of the whole, Shanahan had to bring in his style of WCO to the team and the defense completely changed scheme's with out having the right players to run it. So although the team is not in "rebuild" mode, they essentially are "rebuilding" this team. Zorn was the first to bring the WCO to Washington and most teams who switch take a few yrs to get the offense connecting. Zorn might have helped or started the transition for Shanahan but the scheme's are not completely the same.

All I'm saying is lets be patient and give Allen/Shanahan more then 1 or 2 yrs to get the right people in for the offense and defense before we lable Shanahan OR Haslett a bust. Also remember Haslett helped build the Steeler's defense and they have kept the same scheme even after he left. Haslett should understand their scheme and be able to impliment it, which I'm guessing is why Shanahan picked him for the job.

I was thinking that when I heard the announcement this morning actually. The Broncos got a great coach with John Fox and the 49ers could be in good shape with Harbaugh, but a few other teams have hired coaches already when Fisher would have been a superior candidate.

Coughlin adapted just a bit to his players. Not too much, but some. The criticisms were mainly from them not winning. Mike Shanahan does deserve a few years to make his mark, but if doesn't show much progress in that timeframe, the complainers are only going to get louder. Hopefully, it all turns out good in the end.

Mike Shanahan didn't take the engine totally apart and rebuild with brand spanking new parts. He wanted to "win soon", which means finding scrap parts from various places and hoping it would all work in the end. That's why he didn't jettison AH, brought in Mcflabb, brought LJ, brought in Parker, brought in Kemo.

As with any winning coach, their main goal is to build a championship team the way that has worked for them before, but also, to put themselves in the best position to win right away.

Mike Shanahan hasn't even begun to build the team yet. Any thought of him turning this team into an instant winner this past season is hilariously retarded.

He brought in guys who he thought could contribute and possibly help mentor the younger players....players who he thought could run his son's offense for the short while, but in no way was he ever thinking of building his team around any of those veterans. Maybe McNabb, but in the back of MS's mind, I'm sure he knew that he would be drafting a QB in the up and coming seasons, maybe just not this soon.

Overall, I would question the sanity of any Redskins fan that would want to jettison Shanahan after one, even two seasons. Perfection doesn't come over night nor does it come easily.

You bring them in hoping that they will show competitive form and thus contribute to a contender in the near future because they'll flame out in the near future. Of course he didn't plan on them for the long term, BUT he did expect them to contribute in the short term. It cost the team possible gems in the draft or UDFA. Probably the only vets brought in solely to "just add a solid guy" were Holliday, Hicks and Buchanon.
