Rich Tandler posted this on FB
So, the popular narrative is that the Redskins won't be able to find a good coach because they have been unstable at the position since Snyder has owned the team. But it must be noted that since 1999 the Redskins have had six coaches not counting 3-game interim Terry Robiskie. The Cowboys have had five; so have the Lions (plus two interims). Is there any talk that those teams won't be able to find a coach if they decide to make a move? And don't tell me Snyder meddles and then look at Jerry Jones and say a coach would be more comfortable under him. And the Ford family does zip. .
Yes there has been similar talk of instability about all the organizations you mention .Many have said and believe that until Jerry Jones gives up the GM job they will suck .Same for the Lions after the Matt Millen disaster ,and yes the Jets also for years . |

Like he did with spurrier and zorn? The only successful seasons we've had under Snyder have been with proven established head coaches. We haven't had continued success with anyone. I don't think Snyder, or Allen for that matter, has the skill to pick the right college coach or nfl Coordinator who can step into the head coaching role and have immediate success |
If briles comes here this is no longer the washingon redskins but the Washington Robert griffins. You don't let a stubborn arrogant young quarterback and his dad who lives vicariously through him bring in his college coach. What the hell kind of message does that send to the locker room. Atleast for 3 more years when rg3 is out of the league because he can't cut it as a pocket passer. Rg3 playing the way rg2 and rg3 want him to play is not sustainable. Kyle Shanahan tried to help him become a better pocket passer and he rejected the coaching. He's a diva and will ultimately proved to be a mistake that set the franchise back years.
Right now Lovie smith is the only available head coaching candidate that I think can actually do better than Shanahan here. I hope we can get him somehow.
Its important we show Griffin who the boss is forget winning games. Hell just to show we are the average play Cousins/Schaub/Ryan/Grossman hell they are the same player anyway. (mediocre) but lots of yards they thow the ball out quick. Cousin is not Brady we would have saw it by now. |

Yea cause Shanahan and Marty were really successful in Washington. Also how many "established" super bowl winning coaches went on to win super bowls with other teams? |

Marty likely wouldn't have taken us to multiple playoff years had Snyder stuck with him. Also, regarding the silly Brady-cousins comparison, no ones saying cousin is Brady. But Brady didn't become Brady right away either. |

Almost every single one of them were unproven or if they had coaching experience before, failed badly. I think its time the Skins started trying to copy success instead of doing it the way their fans want them to do it or creating their own, terribly bad ways of building a team. |

Of those I would have voted for Raheem, he seems to be a true players coach and he got a raw deal in tampa after doing good work with nothing. |

Doesn't seem like Shanny can pull a pro level staff together. We can debate the reason for that ie my intuition is because he's an egomaniac jerkoff not many people want to associate with him vs (maybe) Shanny picked this group because it gave him max control. But the bottom line is the end result: piss poor coaching and personnel in the FO. Kyle was in WAY over his head. Kiddo has no business running an offense. In Houston he called plays from the Kubiak playbook but didn't really do much otherwise. It was a Cush position. He came here and couldn't scheme his way out of a paper bag, except that an once in a generation athlete covered for all the lacking on the sideline. Almost total disorganization. As seen in unprepared coaches, undisciplined players. My take from all we've seen and heard is neither Shanahan has any business working in pro football. |

Can we start a thread called "Choose Your 2014 Redskins PR Staff!"? I don't get Tony Wyllie one bit. This guy has been a absolute train wreck ever since he's stepped foot in DC. Now his latest gaff is bullying a local reporter because he made a joke on twitter. REALLY?
Don't EVER Joke About The Washington Redskins Smoot, I know you said this guy was respected, and I know I continue giving you hell whenever he steps in doo doo. There is nothing about this man's work that should be respected by anybody. If Tony's product was anything other than the NFL, he'd be fired by now. No way would some corporation allow their PR guy to continue to make them look bad with so many negative incidents. So can this asshole be giving walking papers with Shanny and crew? |

Ive always been a realistic person. I supported Shanahan untill the club started having issues seeing eye to eye |
Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach (Volume 2)
Complete control of their (false) image is apparently a primary goal at Redskins Park. Bullying the media and even the fans seems to be a part of the plan to control that image.
Who could forget the appalling sign and Tee-Shirt purge at the stadium at the end of the Vinny era. Then there was the taking away of the Washington Post's tickets, the law suit against the paper than published an unfavorable article about Dan Snyder, the favoritism shown to the Redskins' so-called "media partners", etc. In short, I doubt that Dan Snyder would disapprove of Tony Wylie's snatching of this guy's press credentials. |
