This is good news, complete overhaul is the best way to get this turned around. |

They should bring Dan Riley back. |

I certainly would not oppose that suggestion, Riley did a masterful job with the team for a long time. By the way, where is Riley, and what is he doing these days? |

Good work! I remember reading he had joined the Texans staff in 2007 but wasn't aware of his most recent whereabouts. Thanks for the update. |
Re: Coaching Staff update
the good news about this is that our strength and conditioning staff was not all that good considering we had like 10 players on IR, as well as players like Albert Haynesworth getting gased during games. We should bring in either steelers or cardinals strength and conditioning people. Because those teams always stay fairly healthy come playoff time.

Things like Cooley breaking his ankle, Samuels' degenerative neck condition, and Rinehart's broken leg have nothing to do with poor conditioning. Mike Williams tearing a muscle in his foot isn't a conditioning issue. These kind of things don't fall on the trainers. Did you know the Saints have more players on IR than the Redskins? They're in the Super Bowl. I doubt they fire their staff. I'm not sure what metrics are used to judge a strength and conditioning staff. I mean, a big part of it has to do with the players' willingness to train hard. I don't think season ending injuries are the fault of s/c coaches. I do know that the past two seasons we didn't have nearly as many of the strains/pulls we dealt with during Gibbs' 2.0. I know a couple of guys who were on this staff the past few years, so obviously I'm biased here. |
Re: Coaching Staff update
On a side note Earnest Byner went to the Titans for 2 year and look how that turned out... not sure if letting him go was ever a good decision.

Interesting how some of these guys have had ties to Allen, Shanahan (either or), AND Haslett perhaps Haslett and Shanahan have shared recommendations more often than we'd think I don't know about Hilliard's coaching abilities but the players might respect someone that just came out of the league and is more like "one of them" .. then again, that could be a downfall too |
