Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
I like the Rambo and Stoneburber picks.
A WR with our first pick?[/QUOTE] I tend to agree -- I don't see us picking a WR early on. If Matt Elam (safety) from Florida is available, I could see that instead. Generally, I would imagine that the best safety available would likely be a priority, unless someone surprising fell into our laps that we thought would never get out of the first round. |
Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
This guy is rated as a late round 5th and beyond, prospect. #77 RT Reid Fragel Ohio St.
He gets to the second level quicker than most tackles I've seen. He maybe the answer to Polumbus and our RT spot or very least to compete with Tom Compton (and possibly Polumbus). Its hard to tell how great he is/can be with a QB that runs twice as much as RG3 did in College and isn't as good of a passer as RG3 (he holds on to the ball much more than RG3), and Wisconsin didn't have a good pass rusher last year, but from what I can tell he looks like a steal. What do you think?
I like parts of it. I don't like Darius Slay. He'll get drafted higher than he should. I'm not too fond of Riddick (Kevin, not Theo of Notre Dame) I don't like that TE from SCarolina, however I honestly haven't seen much film of him, but I can tell you that there are other TEs, Lutzenkurchen to name one, who will be there in that round or later that I feel like they would do great here or be of better value. Fragel, and Swope I love though. |

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
The only major difference between Geno and RG3 coming out is accuracy to the deep outside area of the field. Geno throws it around pretty well, at least as well as Griffin did coming out.
I agree that Griffin and Geno are similar and like you said Griff has better deep ball accuracy. I think their arm talent is close, Griff has a quicker release but Geno has more consistent mechanics.
But there is one important disctinction. Its an area where the 2 QBs are diametrically opposed: playmaking. 'Spontaneous Genius' as Bill Walsh called it and Griffin has is in spades. Where Geno's coached pushed him to be and wanted him to be more of playmaker, Griffin is a natural. |

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
Why Barkley so low, did he forget how to QB in a year?
Even last year I never had Barkley as an elite talent. So for me nothing has changed. Limited arm strength, limited mobility, little playmaking ability, surrounded by top level playmakers.
EJ is a first rounder? I remember him coming outta high school, expected a better career outta him. FSU...smh
Yeah, I know its unpopular. But when I close my ears to the rhetoric and rely on the tape he's the QB I would choose for my team. I try to separate the QB from their situation and focus on their play and their skillset. EJ to my eye might have the biggest arm of this draft class and imo is clearly the best playmaker. He reminds me of Ben Rothlisberger/slimmer Daunte Culpeper. You plug him into the right situation like some of the QBs from this season he has success right away. |

Also I thought you all should know, Josh Boyce is not only a beast WR who reminds me of a healthier Hakeem Nicks, but he could be here based on RG3 telling Shanahan to get this guy, because he and RG3 played together in high school. |
