Re: 34th Overall Pick
the comparison that jumps out to me is chris samuels and his stenosis.
different pre-existing injuries but it seems both have been told they could play 1 year or 10 years in the NFL, no one can be sure how long. i havent read the dr andrews article matty linked and am going to do that now. from the andrews article: "These types of patterns are real common on those big guys, real common. "He has a little bit of cartilage wear in his knee, but that's such a common finding in an NFL draft-able player, my impression - andrews is showing bias to the Alabama program and perhaps a player he got to know as a person and likes. i dont buy that his wear and tear is common - if it was, id assume many more OTs would also have the same chirping going on about their condition. it sounds like he has the same problem as bowen and other NFL vets - bad knees. only problem is this kid isnt an NFL vet and at his size, the problem (swelling, loss of stability) is only going to get worse .. not better.
The article says he's had no swelling, no pain or ongoing issues. The injury happened in his freshman year, seems to me he'd be having issues even just practicing let alone playing if the surgery was botched. He didn't miss any games the last 2 years and not even a practice. |
Re: 34th Overall Pick
Yeah, I don't think Andrews would go out on a limb for the guy if he didn't believe he was healthy. Why, so the guy can make more money? A lie wouldn't change his condition, it would only hurt Andrews credibility.

They should. He's wearing Chanel #5 today. :) |
Re: 34th Overall Pick
On a different topic, still tangentially related (yes I just wanted to say tangentially), I love the break between rounds 1 and 2. I love being able to go over possible trade scenarios, rehash the first round. And I really love that the teams get a chance to reset their boards, really look at what they want to do with their picks, and what value they want to get or give for the trades.
I can't say I would be a favor of drawing it out any more, because I think the break between round 1 and 2 has the most fan intrigue, and team dynamics. |

Trade that shit! There are a bunch of trench players I'd be happy with at this spot. Drop back 6-10 spots and still get someone just as good. Moses, Kouandjio, Robinson, Hageman, Truitt, take your pick they all could help us |
Re: 34th Overall Pick
I don't see y some want us to get Amaro? Isn't Reed legit?
|
Re: 34th Overall Pick
I wouldn't be unhappy at all with Kouandijo or Moses, or Su'a-Filo at #34.
I would be very surprised if we didn't select one of them at #34. Keeping RG3 protected should take precedent over spending our top pick on defense.

Re: 34th Overall Pick
Tackles > Guards and Bigger > Smaller; therefore, Kuanjio or Moses > S'ua-Filo or Bitonio.

I'm happy with many folks and am not pushing Amaro. Of course Reed is legit. But he also has injury flags. And, at any rate, having two stud TE's really helps the passing game - just ask Tom Brady. |

Moses, Kouandjio, Robinson, Hageman, Truitt, take your pick they all could help us
From the article: "Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reported this afternoon that the Cowboys are looking to make a “big move up” in the second round tonight. Dallas holds the 15th pick of the second round. If you use the draft trade value chart as a guide, Jerry should have to hand over the Cowboys’ fourth-round pick to move up to the second pick of the round." Help Jerrah fix his defense by moving back 13 spots and accepting a fourth rounder in return? Not just no but Hell No! I'd only trade down a few places with someone other than Dallas and then I'd have to be bending them over in the process. Otherwise, I'm drafting my new RT at #34. |
Re: 34th Overall Pick
Teams are foaming at the mouth for round two. Hopefully we take advantage........36 minutes

Re: 34th Overall Pick
How many rounds of the draft are happening today? Is it just round 2 or 2 and 3?
|
Re: 34th Overall Pick
2 & 3
|
Re: 34th Overall Pick
I want a non-injury prone Tre Johnson type guard on this team, a nasty bastard with a chip on his shoulder.
