Re: Wynn cut (maybe)
he meant the D line which has plenty of depth right now between wynn, daniels, carter, griffin, joe, killings, bosch, etc. why do we need to use all our space to fill a non need and bring in an old guy that'd repalce people that can sstick around longer? they said they wanted to get youth in the DL depth, not more age.
Let me clarify. I didn't mean that we should sign Sam Adams or some old guy to a long term deal. But we should bring in another d tackle, maybe in the draft. We probably wouldn't adress it until day 2 if we did, and if so probably couldn't get anyone better than killings or boschetti (which would be the goal). So if they plan on pushing off the drafting/signing of a younger guy until 2007, a guy like Sam Adams or Grady Jackson would provide good depth for one season. It's not about them getting better after the age of 34.

Of course if they had been able to get maake or someone like that, we wouldn't be having this conversation.
seriously? seemed to me like he would be fine on the inside. if anything would be great depth to rotate and come in on run only situations.
Wynn's a great outside run stuffer. But the rules change when you go inside. He'd be playing out of position, and although that may help the team on third down, I'd much rather have Saleve'a out there on 1st-2nd down.
he isnt big enough to play inside
he's been up to 295lbs. there are smaller DTs than that.

wynn is better than killings and he could be the #3. He's played well there before.
how many players get better after 34? how many years do you expect him to play? is he more important than OL depth or that gaping hole at ROLB? we have good DT depth at least 3-4 deep, the money can be better spent fill actual needs... unless you're comfortable knowing that if a OL starter goes down we're fscked or that our ROLB may suck all year and there won't be any way to fix it, but hey, we got a 4th starting DT, so who cares?

if you want to debate thats fine, but let's try facts instead of weak smack.
Wynn will be 32 in September. Is he getting better?

I disagree about the gaping hole. The gaping hole was there when #56 left his assignments...

no he's not, but unlike adams, we don't need to shell out an additional 5mill to sign wynn. he's already here. cutting him now to sign someone else would save any money either, and he already knows the system. I know you're trying to take a jab, but its a bit misplaced.

Quit being paranoid and Adams will not make 5 million plus this year.
