Re: Skins officially pick Rocky McIntosh
I think he will be a starter, my own fear is that Rocky's weaknesses are similar to LaVar's.
You maybe right!!! What is really troublesome is the way we have mortgage the 07 draft with our 2nd and 4th goen!!!!! This kind of doing things has to come to a end soon!!! So 07 we have a 1st,3rd,5th,6th and 7th! Free agents next season can't really be a way to get players becaues of the money short fall! So I have to say it. We need to hit a home run on a late round pick on Sunday with the 5th,6th[2] and 7th[2]!!!!!! When will the madness end???? |

Yeah, but there's probably two lists. One of guys you'll settle for and one of guys you want. I think I'd take one guy I want rather than two guys I'd settle for. ...especially if what I really wanted was one of eight or nine linebackers. ...especially if I don't think there's gonna be much left in the Quality LB Department come pick 53. |

Re: Skins officially pick Rocky McIntosh
we seemingly gave up a whole lot to get campbell last year- and i admit to being super-pissed after that draft, but in hindsight it was a very smart move.
that's why i'm pretty calm right now... especially since this is way less than we gave up last year. |

I am getting my fears from this -------------------------- www.nfldraftcountdown.com Outside Linebacker | Senior | Miami (FL) Roger McIntosh Height: 6-2 1/8 | Weight: 237 | 40-Time: 4.61 Official Bio Strengths: Outstanding athletic ability...Has great speed and quickness with a burst to close...Can make plays sideline-to-sideline due to his range...Playmaker who is always around the action...Good tackler...Has a knack for making stops behind the line of scrimmage...Versatile...A leader on and off the field...Hard worker who is smart and mature...Has some upside if he can stay healthy and on the field. Weaknesses: Inconsistent and doesn't always play up to his talent...Takes bad angles...Is only average in coverage...Needs to get stronger...Relies heavily on his athleticism to recover from mistakes...Can be too aggressive at times...Has dealt with knee, shoulder and back injuries...Does not really have a ton of starting experience. Notes: Could project to either outside or inside linebacker at the pro level...The recent success of other Miami linebackers such as Jonathan Vilma and D.J. Williams in the NFL sure won't hurt his cause...Seemingly has all the physical tools you look for. __________________ |

So what we have left is the 5th[153],6th[173],6th[196]7th[230] and 7th[250] God please let us find some back ups or maybe a starter in one or more of these picks!!!

Re: Skins officially pick Rocky McIntosh
It's from an old write up from the Hurricanes site, but the kid, apparently, was outstanding on special teams, which I know counts for a lot with our coaches.

Re: Skins officially pick Rocky McIntosh
With next year's 2nd looking like it will be no better than this year's 53... this trade doesn't hurt me if they got their guy at 35.

Re: Skins officially pick Rocky McIntosh
lets just give away all of our other picks for Devin Hester and go home. Hell give em all the picks from next year for that gay kid from who's the boss too while we're at it.
Im not sayin the McIntosh pick was bad, but I think we did not have to give up so much to get a quality player where we were. Daryl Tapp also comes to mind... wonder where he'll go...
draft is not yet over as Joe Gibbs said, drafts is won with the later round picks and also the undrafted, because high picks also drains salary cap (which we don't have) hail to skins hail to gibbs |
Re: Skins officially pick Rocky McIntosh
Memo to front office. You trade up and get someone who still there idiots!
Why do you think we wanted D'Qwell? There has been nothing to suggest that at ALL -- this is pure rumor. McIntosh is bigger, significantly faster and is a natural WLB, which we needed. While D'Qwell has spent some time on the outside, he really excelled as an ILB which we already have in Marshall. Have some faith in the front office that they didnt just randomly trade up not knowing if their target was there. |
