Re: Starting Campbell Now Makes Cap Sense
What makes you say that? Why do so many people think the players are all talking behind Brunell's back pointing to him as the sole problem?
I honestly do not think Brunell is the sole problem with the team or why their offense is so inconsistent, but I will say he is part of the problem. As fans we sometimes get frustrated with JG because he does not seem to think Brunell has anything to do with the teams poor showing in the passing game. I'd be willing to bet there are coaches around the league that would have benched Brunell for good long time ago. Again it's not all his fault, but he's the trigger man. |

Fans seem to want Gibbs to explode in public a la Dennis Green. But what message does that send really? |

Maybe he needs to send some kind of message to capture the attention of these guys so they will begin to turn in better performances, and don't constantly defend individual players who do not perform up to expectations hiding behind that umbrella of "We're All In This Together". |
Re: Starting Campbell Now Makes Cap Sense
Look what happened for Arizonas passing offense when they sat an over-the hill old QB, for a guy with less pro experience than what we have.

Re: Starting Campbell Now Makes Cap Sense
In Gibbs defense, what we see on Redskins.com and the press conferences aren't likely what the team sees behind closed doors.
One time on the Dan Patrick Show, Joe Theismann recalled a day in the film room after a loss. Taking note of the players not being particularly interested in what Gibbs was saying, he took his fist and smashed it through the glass top of the overhead projector. That sort of woke people up. Bottom line, we have no idea what goes on behind the locked doors of Redskin Park. |

It's like we have the same exact argument everytime... then forget... then argue again... I do it too. I admit.
Before posting about our QB situation everyone should have to read a pamphlet. |

Didn't read all the replies, so apologize if this is a repeat.
I'm 99.99999999% sure that you will see Al's guy, Todd Collins, before you see Campbell. |
Re: Starting Campbell Now Makes Cap Sense
as bad as brunell has been, I'm willing to try Collins. I'm not ready for brunell to be replaced yet, but i want to see Campbell if the skins lose to the colts. and i think its a given this will be brunells last season. didn't coach Gibbs have to talk him in to playing this season?

Re: Starting Campbell Now Makes Cap Sense
The last thing that they are thinking about is the cap. Brunell is the starter until someone runs away with the division.

He's our future, and that's what we'll be playing for if/when the season is at the point of no return. |
