Re: Jevon Kearse

well, here's a short list of guys i kinda like... unfortunately it's REAL short, cause again, it's too early to pin anything down.

QB:
Quinn, Brady Notre Dame 1 6-4 228 4.70
Smith, Troy Ohio State 1-2 6-1 212 4.60

FB:
Leonard, Brian Rutgers 1-2 6-1 238 4.56

TE:
Spaeth, Matt Minnesota 3 6-7 262 4.83

WR:
Samardzija, Jeff Notre Dame 1-2 6-5 216 4.50
Caldwell, Andre Florida 2-3 6-1 198 4.43
Clowney, David Virginia Tech 2-3 6-1 180 4.32

c:
Mozes, Dan West Virginia 4 6-3 295 5.26

OT:
Thomas, Joe Wisconsin 1 6-7 310 5.06

OG:
Grubbs, Ben Auburn 1-2 6-3 315 5.18

K:
Crosby, Mason Colorado 3 6-1 212 5.18

DE:
Adams, Gaines Clemson 1 6-5 260 4.72
Moses, Quentin Georgia 1 6-5 252 4.75

DT:
Pitcock, Quinn Ohio State 1 6-3 298 4.95

OLB:
Posluszny, Paul Penn State 1 6-2 230 4.58

CB:
Wilson, Josh Maryland 5 5-10 187 4.28

FS:
Wendling, John Wyoming 2-3 6-1 222 4.40

P:
Sepulveda, Daniel Baylor 5 6-3 223 4.62
Fields, Brandon Michigan State 7-FA 6-5 230 5.26

Notes:
Zbikowski is more of an in the box type of safety... while he wouldn't be terrible, there's no need for him here.

Clowney and caldwell would only be worthwhile if they dropped quite a ways. clowney does have very consistent all-world speed though.

2008 draft (might declare early)
RB:
Peterson, Adrian Oklahoma 1 6-2 218 4.47

WR:
Johnson, Calvin Georgia Tech 1 6-4 228 4.55
Jarrett, Dwayne Southern Cal 1 6-5 210 4.57
Ginn Jr., Ted Ohio State 1 6-0 180 4.35

K:
Coutu, Brandon Georgia 5-6 6-0 200

DE:
Groves, Quentin Auburn 1 6-3 250 4.63

btw, 2008 may have 8 CBs and FSs go in the 1st round, so that may be the better time to draft them.

It'd be REALLY hard to turn down calvin johnson if we have a shot... those 3 DEs all look promising though, especially gaines and groves.

right now, FA CB clements, high 1st round DE, 5th round CB wilson, UDFA P fields seems like the best idea. hopefully one of the midround linemen fall, but both (and probably wilson too) will go up, not down, by draft time :/.

learn from the past, no more expensive vets who are injury prone. Spend the money wiser....

Re: Jevon Kearse

yeah, he's super fast AND he can tackle, which is hard to find. having a young fast guy for depth can't hurt, but i imagine he'll work himself into the 3rd round or so by draft time :( that bastard.

Re: Jevon Kearse

Yea we could package both Duckett and Archuletta for a #1, why didn't I think of that?

I believe most teams will overlook the fact that Duckett is a free agent at the end of the year, and AA is flat out horrible.
