Have you seen the Redskins record this season?

All that talk about rushing yards and time of possession, etc. is loser talk. The redskins lost and that all that matters. They do suck, from top to bottom they suck.

It's not quite as simple as that, I'm sure even you know that.

Saying something sucks isn't exactly the kind of take we want to encourage on the board. Let's back our posts up with something more meaningful.

This is what I've said all along. Other teams are playing well through injuries.

I whole heartedly believe we currently have playoff talent on this roster. That being said, I put the majority of the blame on the staff for the failure this year.

It is as simple as that. Wins & losses, thats all that matters in any pro sport. The only reason most redskin fans think otherwise is because the redskins dont win so they have to find victories in other aspects of the game.

Of course, but there are plenty of things we can discuss and analyze that lead to those wins and losses.

The defense let us down again. There is no room for error with these linebackers and secondary. Even if we scored that TD instead of the FG we would have let philly march right down the field immediately afterwards for a game winning drive. All you have to do to beat us is run left 60 times a game. Holdman needs to learn how to shed a block. Other than that, things are peachy.

Well, one week it's the defense...the next week it's the offense.

One week people are calling for Brunell's head, well he's been benched. The next week, it's the penalties. Holdman, oh yeah he's been horrible too.

I think one consistant theme we find this year is that play calling has been suspect. I'm not really sure who calls the plays anymore.

I think the offensive playcalling was very good this week. If we are gonna develop campbell, we HAVE to use him. Handing the ball of 50 times when your losing doesnt send a good message to Jason. He made his mistakes, but he also made his plays. Saunders was somewhat unpredictable this week, and the offense moved the ball all game because of it. He tried using Duckett near the goalline and duckett pusssed out. not Saunders' fault.

No, I understand that. But has Gibbs stepped in to some degree?
Is he telling Al to call this play or that play in certain situations?

I guess we'll never know for sure but all we've heard is that Saunders is calling the plays and Gibbs does have some veto authority but there's no way to tell when and how often he uses that authority.

Knowing Gibbs and the way he delegates I'd guess it's pretty rare that he would overrule Saunders.

Gibbs clearly stressed to Saunders that he wants more runs in general and more power runs but that does not mean he is calling specific plays. Gibbs suggestions concern the overall game plan.

But more than Gibbs actually vetoeing anything, I wonder if Al, and I'm reaching on this one, is playing mind games with himself. You know, "I wonder if Gibbs would want this or that play in this situation?" So I'll call what Joe would call, instead of what I feel we should go with?

It's a stretch, but I've played that scenerio over in mind.
