There is a strong chance one is going to be a miss anyways. I would like for both of them to be great but really good DTs are hard to come by. I think golston is money but i'm not all that high on montgomery. I like him but i think he gets more credit than deserved because he is associated with golston in the minds of many fans.

Regardless, i would like a good DT combo now also.

I wouldn't mind seeing someone else come in, naturally. But I want it to be a guy who listens to his coaches and accepts the role he is given. Gerard Warren isn't doing that in Denver which is why they are shopping him. He is a classic "me" player.

There's always a chance that bringing a new guy in can disrupt things, chemistry & such, but also a chance that he could be worked into the rotation & Montgomery would be pushed to earn some pt. Good point about Montgomery; he was a project draft pick who appears to be on the right track but he didn't crack the lineup as much as Golston last year.

he dominated in that game last saturday, lets see how montgomery does this week. warren wont get past the 40 up downs he owes when he signs. the guy is known for being a slap dick without any heart. dont want that guy at all. montgomery looks huge and remember he was an olineman in college, to come this far is amazing. this guy was very productive the other night and i love his size.

[QUOTE]Here's the best possible Week 1 Starting D Line---

LE-MichaelStrahan
DT-Tank Johnson
DT-Gerard Warren
RE-Simeon Rice

This makes too much sense not too happen.

....... I don't know about that

I just heard he's been traded to the Raiders for a draft pick. Details forthcoming

We didn't need him unless he could play left guard anyways.

If the pick was a 6th or 7th - then we are idiots! Those are throw-away picks anyway...

I'm reading quite a bit about Kendall lately and he's increasingly unhappy with his contract. He's not asking for a whole lot in my opinion. I'm sure he's looking for a long-term deal to retire on, but honestly I would love a 2-3 year deal and leave room to resign Cooley.

I think there should be a ban on these kind of threads. They never have any factual basis (as in the team isn't pursuing the guy) so they're pointless.

Hey, Emmitt Smith doesn't have a dancing show to do this season and he's not playing anywhere...what do you think?

JLC commented on Kendall the other day and basically said he's not going anywhere.

It's great to see that the FO, and the coaching staff are commited to sticking with developing Golston, and Montgomery instead of wasting draft picks on a low effort DT.

I think this thread was legit though. All he said was Warren was on the block (true), and we're sketchy at the DT position (true).

That doesn't compare to saying, for example, bring Darrell Green out of retirement
