I was thinking about this the other night, and I couldn't come to a definite answer. Our O-line seems to be coming together, I like our LB depth, I might like some D-line help, but I don't know if I'd invest a 1st rounder in it... It just seems to go on like that, at least in my mind.

My opinion? Other. Best value at our pick for any of the following: D-line, O-line, CB, safety, possibly WR. Take the player who falls too far. Either that, remain open to a trade if someone covets a player who falls.

I am a bit split between DL and OL. It depends on how well the injuries on the OL mend. If our our current OL comes back then I think we just need some depth with the later rounds and we can spend one of our first picks on D-line, most likely a DE. I can't believe anyone thinks WR is the biggest concern.

You can have the hottest QB, RBs, or WRs in the NFL and if they don't have a decent O-line, they goes nowhere. If your QB is picking turf out of his helmet all day long I don't care who he is he is going to rush passes that lead to picks. If your RB is getting hit in the backfield all day long he isn't going to rush for 4 yrds per carry.* The same goes for the other side of the ball. You have amazing CBs and no pass rush and good QB will find someone open. If you can't stop the run with the front 7 sometimes teams are going to burn you all day long with the deep ball. In todays game you HAVE to be able to have some pass rush with your front four.

(*cept for Barry Sanders, I don't know how that man did it with those crappy O-lines and 8 men in the box all the time)

Dream scenario might involve Justin Smith (on the cheaper side, perhaps, given his 2.0 sacks this season) and Lance Briggs in FA ($$$ is a question, but we'll see). Then that opens the first round for a CB, then go OL/WR in the 2nd and 3rd (depending on the value available).

I would have to agree with most of the posts to address the defensive line if we can get a quality pick with #21. If not draft the best offensive line prospect and then go with defensive line in round 2. I think whe should take a look at Tom Zbikowski from ND if he is available in round 3 or 4. He has had an off couple of years but has 4.48 speed and is tough as nails. I think he has a true Redskin personality and would love to see him on the team.

Here we go again. The Skins should just take the best available player in each round. Screw positional needs in the Draft. If you draft good football players, then you have a team of good football players. They should address needs through free agency and trades (NO TRADING PICKS!). I have several reasons for my logic, but I do not feel like expanding on it right now.

I guarentee that I will start another thread that does not involve draft talk in about a month.

I'm not sure I believe in taking the best player available, regardless of positional needs. If you had Carson Palmer on your team and, when it was time to draft in the 1st and 2nd rounds the best players on the board were QBs, would you do so? No. If the best player on the board was a kicker in round 1 and you already had a good kicker, would you draft him? No. I think you have to look at your needs when considering who to draft.

That's different we dont have the "best" player at any positions.

Of course I wouldnt, but those are the only 3 positions on our team that I wouldnt draft in the 1st round. Everything else is on the table. (except kicker and punter obviously)

If they are looking at D Line, how about Howie Long's son out of UVA. I only saw a few of their games, but he seemed to put pressure on the QB and was explosive off the line.

I think we definitely have to go D-line this year. We've been talking about getting a pass-rush for years, but we still haven't ever gone after a big time DE in the 1st round that could be a stud for years.

Chris Long is expected to go very early in the first round. Of course that could change w/ combine performances. Recently the Skins have seemed to try to fill holes with FA and supplement w/ the draft. I would like to see if Lawrence Jackson a DE at USC works his way to our draft spot

DE, then Oline in the draft. I say we go after Trufant in FA he seems like a good cover corner and he has some size. Man I really want a proven elite corner at some point, I miss Bailey!

I miss bailey to, but I think Asante Samuels is a better cover corner than Trufant. I think we wont be able to sign either one.
