ESPN reports it too. The Packers are also going after him.
The Brunell lottery:Redskins quarterback Mark Brunell is scheduled to visit the Saints Tuesday to be considered for a possible backup job. Several teams have inquired about Brunell, but the Saints, who were actively looking at Trent Green, seem to be among the most aggressive in looking at Brunell. Brunell has been training hard. He's lost about 10 pounds, and he's working hard on strengthening his legs. The

Packers are one of the teams considering Brunell. They have to make a decision now that Brett Favre retired. Do they want an experienced hand like Brunell, or do they want a quarterback in his fourth or fifth year to back up Aaron Rodgers? General manager Ted Thompson is thinking through that question.
It is a sad day for Quarterbacks and the NFL when Mark Brunell is a hot commodity, even for a backup. Disagree with me or blast me all you want, but Brunell does not have longevity.
You guys keep mentioning Harrington...I'd honestly put him ahead of Collins (with a new offensive system) on the depth chart.

Collins is not going to be able to repeat last season's performance if he has to play next season. The only reason he was successful is because he calls those plays in his sleep and knew where the receivers would be before they started moving. New offense, he loses his comfort level and effectiveness.

Of course, he proved me wrong last year, but him in a new offense is not a good idea.
I tend to think if a guy can play QB then who cares what system he is in? Is there really going to be a drastic difference in the plays that were ran last year, and the ones that will be run this year? Probably not. It's just different terminology. Both systems require getting the ball out fast with good timing between the wr and qb. The biggest difference we'll probably see is the tempo of the offense.

It does not define how successful any player can be in it, just how the success will or will not be achieved. Collins' success in Saunders' system should translate just fine to Zorn's. It's not a big deal.

I don't think Collins would be able to repeat his form from last year in Saunders', or any other system. While he's clearly a lot better of an option than Joey Harrington, I was surprised that we were willing to give him 3 mil a year to bring him back.

I mean, you want to get a veteran presence behind Campbell, but only great players seem to be able to remain competent beyond Collins' current age. If Collins was destined to be a great player in this league, who just never got his chance, that speaks very ill of the scouting system in the NFL today--worse than anything I have ever said about it.

More likely, TC isn't a great player, but a pretty good one with a very strong potential for failure here in his twilight years and beyond, especially given the expectations he set for himself last year.

The only problem i've had with colt brennan is that he has a puny arm, he will just be one of those third stringers that will never get any playing time (Sam Hollenbach) cough... cough

IMO, grab whichever QB Bucs let go. Simms, Garcia, Plummer, Grotowski.... Any of them are more than worthy of 2nd string, let alone 3rd.

Yeah Gruden seems to have this obsession with old QB's. I think he is missing out on alot of young talent and Grotowski and/or Simms would be an asset to our QB corps.

Dont be surprised to see Brunell in a Tampa uniform next season either.

Yeah, but Sam Hollenbach wasn't highly touted like Brennan was. Sorry, gotta defend my fellow Terp.

I wouldn't even be mad if they did bring Ramsey back.

He never got a fair shake here in DC.

Have you been watching the same Colt Brennan that I have. His arm isn't that puny.

God if we play our 3rd string QB we're in some serious trouble.
