Definitely online. On television, I suspect so. I haven't been watching the past couple of days so I can't say for sure.
do you have a link to any espn stories? and do you agree or disagree with me about this story not getting that much media attn? |
Re: Boys Will Be Boys: The Glory Days and Party Nights of the Dallas Cowboys Dynasty
No really different.
I get a kick out of guys saying how terrible this is when they would give anything to to be on a championship team, knowing you are great, running with the guys, and having a great time no matter what mayhem you cause. Jealousy is an interesting thing.
Maybe you. Not me. |

I would agree. I mean honestly I've been so busy the last couple of days I have no idea what the media is talking about. But if you haven't heard much about it or can find links easily then that should say that it's probably not getting that much attention. |
Re: Boys Will Be Boys: The Glory Days and Party Nights of the Dallas Cowboys Dynasty
I just got done reading this book. It's great for anyone needing more reasons to hate anything with a star on its helmet. (As if anyone did...) Emmit Smith was as much of a douchebag as I always thought he was.
I'm surprised the cowgirls could even have a huddle. From what I understand, convicted felons are'nt suppose to associate with other convicted felons.
This can't be true. I've seen Kenny Wright and Dexter Manley chillin' with each other.
Starring Michael Irvin as Edward Scissorhands. I can't believe he didn't do time for the stabbing.
Fortunately, he had the same judge that M. Westbrook had after putting his fist through S. Davis's head. (while helplessly on the ground)

Yeah...not quite the same thing and Kenny Wright wasn't a Redskin when he ran into his problems props to you though for being one of the only Cowboys fans to visit this site after last weekend |
Re: Boys Will Be Boys: The Glory Days and Party Nights of the Dallas Cowboys Dynasty
I wouldn't be too rough. There were Redskins that couldn't even read. Every team has dark moments in their closet. That's just how it is. The Cowboys have certainly had their fair share. But I bet people around here would be crying and whining if there were something showing this same type of material about the Redskins. All in all I find the concept pretty interesting. I always wonder what happens behind closed doors with NFL teams.
Great post. If you let some people tell it, their favorite teams are "squeaky clean". Check the stats and see who has had some brushes with the law within the last 10 or so years.
(funny how this stat never makes it on teams boards.) I know no Cowboys have had any brushes, so let's see what the other statistics show. I'm afraid some people might not like what they will find. But, I'm pretty sure no other team has had arrest since this time............ (sarcastically LOL!) |
Re: Boys Will Be Boys: The Glory Days and Party Nights of the Dallas Cowboys Dynasty
I don't think it's that simple Daseal. The culture that Gibbs instilled - in the 80's and to perhaps a larger extent in his second term - was one of responsibility and character. To be sure, people slipped, but there was a conscientious effort from the top down to build a team of solid citizens. The Cowboys, on the other hand, have only ever cared about winning, character be damned. From there drug-addled teams in the 70's, to the aformentioned Johnson era teams, to today where that criminal madman Pacman runs around their stadium.
Me? I'd rather win a superbowl with crooks than suck with choir boys, but I certainly respect what Gibbs did. I definitely think there's a world of difference between the culture of the Skins and the culture down in Dallas.
Let's see........................... Tony Peters------------Drugs Dexter Manley----------Drugs Barry Wilburn-----------Drugs, Armed Robbery Michael Westbrook------Assault and Battery (should've been locked up for impersonating a WR.) George Rogers----------Drugs Timmy Smith------------Drugs Yeah, I see the big difference between the Skins and Cowboys culture. Too bad more NFL teams couldn't have Gibbs guys like this. |

I'm not ashamed to come here after a loss, because the Skins came to play last week and Dallas didn't. That happens in the NFL, Congradulations. |
Re: Boys Will Be Boys: The Glory Days and Party Nights of the Dallas Cowboys Dynasty
wtf does not being able to read have anything to do with the culture of the club? That has to do with house someone is raised in terms of education. No one knew he couldnt read when we picked him up.
At least the Skins make an effort to look for character when getting players. When you have an asshole owner(JJ) you get dicks as players(Smith, Irvin, Owens, Tank, Pacman, I could go on all day) more so. |

Any issues any other teams have should not and does not lessen the off-field transgressions of the Cowboys. |
