Re: Snyder's Possible Head Coach Smokescreen
i don't think snyder would tank the team for a year waiting on cowher - he's just another coach, not a god. I mean, before that SB win, plenty of people wanted him fired too.
zorn interviewed REALLY well - all you need to do is watch his pressers to see what they probably saw. he's honest, he's smart, he understands the game, and he's been preparing for this for years.
Not to mention his pedigree. A former QB (great for Jason Campbell), and a Mike Holmgren QB coach. Holmgren has a fantastic coaching tree, and apparently that played a big role in Danny's decision. The idea that Danny would totally tank a PLAYOFF team for a year with the hope of getting Bill Cowher is ridiculous. If he would do such a thing he would fall right into the same category of the William Clay Ford's and Al Davis' of the league. No way. Just lock this thing. |
Re: Snyder's Possible Head Coach Smokescreen
how is this thread even logical?

Re: Snyder's Possible Head Coach Smokescreen
I thought I remember reading an article that stated that the reason Zorn got the head coaching job was that Synder and Vinny were very impressed with Zorn and were worried about him being offered a head coaching job in a year or two and losing him.
Image if Zorn was still the offensive coordinator and were 4 and 1. He probably would be in the talks for a head coaching job, just from the turn around this offense has made. And there are a lot of vacancies this year. |

After doing some research i found this video from profootballtalk.com saying basically the same thing YouTube -
Well done, Anon, I almost went for it. Ok, I'm a loser, I went for it... didn't expect it here. |
Re: Snyder's Possible Head Coach Smokescreen
We'll never know what Danny Boy was thinking. He's done some wacky things and he may have been thinking of Cowher-in-a-year, as irrational as that would be.
Maybe he really wanted Zorn. Gibbs was an unknown offensive guru and maybe Danny wanted to repeat that pattern. But it doesn't matter what he was thinking now. Long term, I'll bet that Zorn wins more rings than Cowher. Whether by design or accident, I think we have the right man now. |

That was a difficult post to read.
