Re: Redskins may sign Daniels and Wynn?
Looks like the team wants MW. He wants to test the market...after being injured a lot I don't know how much $$ he's going to get. The same goes for Daniels, he wants to test the market, but I wonder how much more money he's going to get.

Re: Redskins may sign Daniels and Wynn?
Getting MW back with a cheaper deal would make a lot of sense. Plus I could keep wearing his jersey. :)

It would make sense from a $$ standpoint, but won't diminish his injury history. Don't get me wrong, I love the guy, but I just don't understand why we haven't shown interest in guys like Cato June or Angelo Crowell. |
Re: Redskins may sign Daniels and Wynn?
I'm not so sure I want MW back. I think the position was pretty weak last year overall as a unit, and even with the addition of Haynesworth (I knew he's a DT, but his presence should make things easier for the linebackers) we need to make improvements.
Now I like MW a lot, but if we re-sign him are we just going to put him out there as the starting SAM again and then spend the season wonder about his health? And is the WILL the best place for Rocky, or should he add some pounds and moved to the strong side? The linebacker situation probably belongs in its own thread, but I think we need to add at least one young player to the rotation (even if we expect Fincher and/or Sinclair and/or Tyson Smith to emerge). |

I think a guy like June is someone that will probably still be around after the draft so there's no rush really to look at him. I wonder if Crowell's knee is in worse shape than is being let on, because there has been almost no interest in him around the league, save for a couple of teams. And this is a young, stud LB. Maybe the team could take a look at the guy who ultimately replaced MW in Indy, Tyjuan Hagler. |

Maybe given Crowell's knee injury they don't feel like he'd be an upgrade over Fincher and Sinclair? I don't know. I'm just a bit surprised we haven't really done anything at the LB position yet. Maybe we should start a "how would you address the LB position?" thread. |
we have a championship caliber defense for the most part champ
We need to be able to raise our sack and int total to me, in order to be a championship caliber defense Solution: get a good DE |

I know. I refuse to be one of those guys who wear a players jersey that now plays for another team. (Loyld-Ramsey -Archuletta etc.) |

Same with Keiaho. |
Re: Redskins may sign Daniels and Wynn?
Marcus could have a great season at WLB and I hope that's what Blache has in mind... if he agrees to return on the predication he starts at SLB we're in a bit of trouble. I can just hear Aikman's voice "Joe it really looks like Marcus Washington has lost another step and yet the Redskins still have him trying to cover Witten. It's just not fair to a guy..."

The fact that Marcus was covering Witten one on one means that we had some asinine blitz call on, and the gamble was that Witten wouldn't release. Even Blache knows that's a huge mismatch.
Giving credit where it is due though, the Horton INT in that game was Blache's best call of the season. Anyway, Marcus only really fits in our defense on the Strong Side. If he's man covering anybody, it should be the fullback. Flat zone coverage, or let him get after the QB all the way. |
Re: Redskins may sign Daniels and Wynn?
Regardiing MW,
I'd would have rather resigned Springs or Taylor. I think MW is done |
Re: Redskins may sign Daniels and Wynn?
He's 31. I doubt he's done.

Re: Redskins may sign Daniels and Wynn?
Tennessee and Denver are considering Daniels along with the Skins.
I dont think anyone is considering Wynn. I would be happy to get Daniels back |
