I wanted Cutler more then just about anyone on this board, but it didn't happen. So now I hope that a 2nd year in this offense will bring improvement...and if it doesn't it's pretty clear we will have a new QB next year. I just can't imagine a diehard Redskins fan referring to Campbell as a deadbeat or a loser. It's one thing to think he is not the long term answer at QB...but that can be said without resorting to personal attacks.
And I was 2nd on the board! But we got Campbell still and I am GLAD we do because he is a GOOD qb I never hated JC like some of these guys do (Redskins1974). My only problem with JC is that he doesn't fit our WC system, He was Avg. at best last year and I know we as a team have to do better in '09 or or Zorn and Campbell may both be gone, much less Campbell. Lets just wait and see guys Campbell may bust out in '09 simply because it's a Big Contract year if he does.
I'm sorry I could not read the article with his idea of how a meeting must have taken place. Several good things came from the whole Cutler issue.
#1. Cutler is not here.;)
#2. We have a QB with some class who doesn't wine.
#3. Maybe this will finally light a fire under JC back side.
#4. Maybe JC will show significant improvement this yr.
#5. If he does #4 then he can screw the Skins over for a big contract.

See all parties will be happy. If anything the pressure is on JC as I see it. If he blows this yr or plays half ass then the team won't resign him. It will prove some pundits right when they say he's not a #1 QB. and lastly he won't get his payday.

I hope JC is mad. I hope JC has something to prove. I hope JC lights it up and maybe then we will finally go farther in to the post season.
I agree, but if he tries to screw over Snyder with an increased asking price, Danny probably will show him the door regardless. Unless JC and coach Zorn get us into the big dance, Snyder still might cut him.
JC's QB rating his first 2 years were in the 70's and last year a minimimal improvement into the low 80's.

Cutler's record as a starter is 17-20, correct. and how about that great Broncos Defense? What do you think the Redskins record would have been if the Redskins were not 5th in D, but 30th like Denver? probably 5-11 at best.
Probably 6-10. And then Campbell would be 15-23 career, or still pretty much about what Jay Cutler is.

Re: FOX - Botched trade will put pressure on Redskins
Okay, but what about the fact that last year Denver had a better offensive line and better WRs than the Redskins?

How can you say that Denver's bad D was the reason for Cutler's record, while ignoring the fact that Campbell was under more pressure and had to throw the ball to arguably less reliable receivers?
because it suits his argument. Some people dont want to see all sides to a story just the one that works for them.

well, there are people like me who cant stand JC and others that like him. However, recent events display his declining stock value and what the rest of the league thinks of JC. Denver coach preferred Orton to JC, lol, and we couldnt unload JC to ANY team in the NFL for a 2nd round pick. that about speaks for itself. at least we only have one more year of him. hopefully Portis and the Defense can carry the load to the playoffs....

What has he done exactly that makes you unable to stand him? I mean that sounds pretty strong.

Re: FOX - Botched trade will put pressure on Redskins

Honestly, its just lack of success of the team. Though not the only reason, the QB is the #1 position on the field, and plays a large part. A couple of our best runs in the last 5 years was when we ran the table twice to end each year and make the playoffs (Brunell, Collins) - not JC. Defenses do not respect JC. Do you think he can bring us to the Super Bowl? thats the question you have to ask yourself....
