I have a love hate relation with computers. I just purchased a new computer system for my office and I have no clue how to use all the stuff installed on them. I just took the spec sheet from our home office and gave it to a customer who does business computers systems and told him to get me what was needed. His first price was almost $11,000 then I sat him down and got him to about half that price. He said its a basic office system but I still get lost.

I heard the unit needs to be well-ventilated, almost to the point of impracticality. You sure it's well ventilated?
the original units had horrible cooling as well too, which they attempted to fix I think by a newer heatsink, they're suffering the same problems as a lot of laptops, trying to make things too sleek, slim, and powerful at the same time, without new technology |
Re: F... Bill Gates...
It means you send it back to MS if it's still under their warranty, or you better hope you bought a replacement plan at the store. If not, then it's time to sell it broken on ebay for parts.
Or attempt a fix of it yourself by replacing the x-clamps with screws and washers + new thermal paste |

I needed 4 work stations for an office. I told the guy to give me the works thinking it would be like a home computer and run around 1,000 each station but he figured the mack daddy office system. After I saw his price and coughed up a few things he realized I needed just a basic off system with a few extras. I did get 3 other bids and his was cheaper on one and was about $600 more then the other two bids. That was close enough for me because he is a customer and spends $ with our office each year. What I actually purchased I can tell you they meet the specs I needed and they work after that I have no clue. The guy who did come in from our home office to convert me from our old company owned system over to my new system said I have a nice system for my needs. |
