Re: is Glenn Beck for real?
No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.
can you please highlight where we suddenly are not supposed to co-operate with police during legitimate investigations? Don't quite see it in this version of the 5th amendment |

Private property no disorderly conduct. Crowley is not a racist he got offended by being called one took a man to jail and had no case. Unprofessional.
So one was a jerk to police ( aka acting stupid) the other was acting unprofessional, (but I would argue that on scene he acted within the realm of professionalism, but I understand your statement). Nothing for the national media, and Al Sharpton or the President of the US to even be involved in. |

I cannot believe this thread is STILL alive.

Re: is Glenn Beck for real?
Just food for thought from Cooley's training camp blog
The highlight of my day was the Cooley shorts. Last night the team held the opening meeting which is you basic introduction to work talk. Trainers come and discuss hydration, personal conduct is always a mention, we even covered how a conversation should go with a police officer when a player gets pulled over. You know, the really tough things in life. From there the meeting went on to cover our dealings with the media, which is where Z gave what I considered the quote of the night.
|

Re: is Glenn Beck for real?
Cooperated: Showed ID I live here mystery solved. Come outside what's the due process? Why come outside? This is America! come outside for what?
Charges dropped not reasonable. Police chase criminals, no criminals here. Professionalism: unpleasasnt law abiding citizen, oh well time to go to Dunkin Doughnuts. Charges dropped, I arrested a person who did not commit a crime. This is America!! Stupid stupid stupid. Besides Ogeltree promised statements from individuals who have dealt with Crowely before with similar results. Obama tells Ogletree chill out let it go. Dr. Gates you need to chill too. |
Re: is Glenn Beck for real?
Its a non-issue but a good distraction for the John Mccain hating wing of the Republican party who desperately needed something racial to highlight Obama is not like you to the American masses. CRedskinsrule I see your points. Now we can move on.

Unprofessional.
Yes it is when you are doing it to a police officer responding to a call in front of on-lookers. None of us were there but just being on private property isn't an excuse either. You don't get to yell at police officers for free. |

Re: is Glenn Beck for real?
I consider myself a libertarian leaning conservative and Beck is a fraud for sure. Ever see his crying theatrics? He breaks down saying how he loves his country and he fears for it, but comes across so crass and fake like MattyK said only a person with half a brain could go for his schtick. I remember when in Feb '08 he thought all Ron Paul folks should be put in those camps they supposedly have up, and after Obama won he had Paul on his show many times a week to talk about real conservatism and tried to say he never really was for Bush, when that is all he did from 2001-2008 was suck up to Bush. Guy is a fraud and hypocrite

Nice of you, the founding member, to welcome me. |
Re: is Glenn Beck for real?
No one is obligated to cooperate with the police. THE 5TH AMENDMENT
I don't see in here anything about not being obligated to cooperate with the police. Listen, no one has to do anything, including cooperate with John Q. Law, but if you're black, white, green, or purple, and you start yelling at a cop and acting belligerent, chances are you're going to jail for disorderly. |
