Faneca would def help us out. We could use another proven lineman. I say take a look at Adalius Thomas too before Rex Ryan locks him up.

I just heard on the radio that Thomas was released by NE about an hour ago.
I'm not a fan of bringing in Faneca, but i do think we should sign Flozell Adams. I'm not sold on Williams being able to start at LT immediately and I think he'd benefit immensely from being able to play RT for a year. Hicks, Dockery, M. Williams and Rinehart could then compete for the two starting guard spots.
Not saying that we're as experienced at football than coach Shanahan, but I do think this would be a smarter move than allowing a rookie play the blindside of McNabb. Sign Flozell. He has a grudge against the Cowboys who we open up against. Trent would be much safer as the right tackle..and then we would have great depth at tackle and guard because Heyer and Hicks would probably become backups instead of starters somewhere.

Sign Flozell to a 1 year deal and it stabilizes the line.

ummm...the past two or three seasons, we've seen rookies step in at left tackle and do very well protecting the blindside. I think if Trent keeps his head down in camp, he should be the starting left tackle on opening day.
I surprise Tony Washington did not get drafted at least in the 7 rd. I guess because of his past record and him having to register as a sex offender scared teams off. I think he was 18 and the girl was 16-17 yrs old and she had consentual sex with him. To all fools a minor can not have consentual sex because she is underage. So any ways maybe we can sign him as a UDF he deserves a 2nd chance in life its not like he is a child molester. He played at TCU OT.
It depends on the state. Georgia is an exception, I believe that the age of consent is 16 but she has to be within 2 or 3 years of the guy. It's been almost 4 years since I have lived there so I cannot recall exactly.

You may find yourself asking how/why I would know something like this. Well, contrary to popular belief I am not a pervert. As a former leader of young American soldiers (ages 17-19) some of them are still into those younger HS girls between the ages of 16-17. Now we would always advise them to just stick with 18+, but to cover the bases we would always recieve briefings on what the law says so that we knew when we could or could not punish them for these sort of things. FYI regardless of the State's Law no civilian Females or Males under the age of 18 are allowed into the barracks.

Looks like this thread is about ready to have run it's course. Faneca a Card.

Alan Faneca lands in Arizona
Posted by Mike Florio on April 27, 2010 7:19 PM ET
The Alan Faneca free-agency tour lasted only three days, and it didn't turn out nearly as well as it did in 2008, when he signed a five-year, $40 million deal with the Jets. Still, Faneca quickly has landed a new gig, with the Cardinals. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Faneca agreed to terms on a one-year, $2.5 million deal, which includes a $300,000 signing bonus and a $100,000 workout bonus.

Some had speculated that he'd be willing to take a one-year deal for the veteran minimum, since he's already getting $5.25 million in guaranteed base salary from the Jets. But if he wanted to take the veteran minimum, he could have accepted whatever the Jets were offering to pay him over and above the $5.25 million he's getting from them regardless of whether he's on the team in 2010. Presumably, his agent shopped the Jets' best offer quietly to other teams before opting to draw a line in the sand.

Other teams that reportedly were interested in Faneca included the Bears and the Texans. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said Saturday that Faneca's former team wasn't looking to bring him back; it's not surprising, given that things ended between the two sides in somewhat ugly fashion.

Well so much for that.

Whatever, who cares if he signed elsewhere. He isn't what he used to be, 5 years ago, sure. Whoever complained about us getting older running backs that were pro bowlers a few years ago, same situation here. The more we just keep plugging in 1-3 year options the more we put off developing someone who can end up being here long term. After seeing us do this type of thing for years and all of the complaining associated with it, why the change of heart?

I don't think anyone is lamenting this. Although it seems AZ got him pretty cheap. I think though that the difference between now and when we got the likes of Pete Kendall, is that we've actually drafted offensive lineman this year.

Wisenhunt is now one step closer on the road to making AZ Pittsburgh West. Smashmouth football there may have had its implementation there hindered by Kurt Warner, but with him gone and a bunch poor QBs on their roster, they now have no choice...
