Just a reminder that he also said this

“We’ve got good, supportive fans,” he said. “I guess they’re hard on us and we do give them a reason to be hard on us. At the same time, we do want their support and encouragement that we can pull it out and turn it around.”

Someone here also brought up the good point that many fans he hears may not even be fans of the Redskins anyway.

I don't see what the big deal is anyway. He spoke the truth.

But Rogers knows as much as any other player that many fans boo just to boo, and you should never expect any support from them.

I'll like to touch base on one more thing Carlos said. He implied that they play so much better on the road. Does he watch the games?

Well they do have a winning record on the road this year

My frustration with Redskins is nothing compared to my frustration with constantly seeing his sorry ass drop a sure pick. A little bit of my soul dies when the ball he almost intercepted hits the ground.

Really can't stand Carlos anymore, he really pisses me off. [/quote]

Wow, kind of an overreaction -- he didn't really say anything to light that kind of fire. He hasn't played great but it's not like he insulted the fans, just kind of mentioned that it's tough and he understands why some fans are upset.

That is true, but have they really played that much better?

Rams - dud
Eagles - great for 1 half, dud for the other
Bears - awful offense, great defense or Jay Cutler having another Jeff George moment
Lions - dud
Titans - Thank you Will Monty and Heyer the Guard. Honorable mentions go to Vince Young and Rusty Smith sucking ass.

Re: Rogers Frustrated By Some Redskins Fans

The big deal is - rogers is making it any deal at all. This shouldn't even be on any player's minds, let alone being discussed. There is only so much time that can be spent on discussing, focusing on, and working on to win the next game and also improve on. I don't think that this should be wasted on by anybody on the team to even think about. This is why this upsets me. Are the fans going to catch those dropped interceptions for Rogers? ... are the fans helping Rogers to work on improving his game? ... these are rhetorical questions, but the real question is: what is Rogers really choosing to focus on? This fan sh*t?

As fans, we can choose to discuss this ... but as football players, they shouldn't have the luxury to discuss something so trivial to how they perform on the field. And if it's not trivial to the players, god help them cause based on this obviously they're going to need all the help they can get if having fan support is this important for them to win. Just think about one good reason why he drops interceptions - lack of focus. So rogers chooses to focus on what? fan support...alrighty then. Ok I can't seem to hold on to interceptions, so let me give myself another distraction to focus on... yeah it's because the team lacks fan support. Come on. Am I the only one seeing it this way and having it make ME frustated?

Here's some advice for you, use pride as motivation or inspiration or whatever floats your boat. Then start staying SEVERAL HOURS after practice catching the ball or working on drills that help you catch the ball. Man it's just amazing that some players say it's this or that that's causing them to not perform as well as they'd like, but they don't even do the most obvious. Just shut your mouth and work more. Until there are reports that he's doing this, just shuddup.

This is should sum up my beef with what he's talking about.

Over the last 18 years the Redskins have been losers...Roger and company will have to excuse the fans for not being giddy about losers. Yeah, we had playoff years but those very few years don't make the pain of rooting for losers more bearable.

Yup, It goes both ways. Not to mention he's getting paid to drop balls and we are paying to watch him drop them. BIG DIFF...

Re: Rogers Frustrated By Some Redskins Fans

“Me and some of the guys were talking about that earlier..."

Please tell me that Rogers didn't actually say he was talking about this with other players. This is what they are talking and thinking about when they were playing the game?... no freaking wonder why he drops interceptions and the team's record is not any better than 5-6. It could easily be 7-4 if they didn't sit around publicly or privately blaming some of the team's failures on fan support.

Just imagine hearing a TV analyst/reporter saying this during the game ... and Carlos Rogers drops another interception. You can blame that again on the lack of fan support. It was really bad right before the ball hits his hands. Let's watch and analyze the fans' support or lack of it again on instant replay...

At some time you have to point the finger at yourself Carlos.

"He just did a good job of protecting the football," cornerback Carlos Rogers said of the future Hall of Famer. "You know he's gonna take some chances sometimes, but he didn't make a lot of those [dangerous] throws."

Let me guess, Eli won't be making and "DanGerOus" throws either come Sunday. But then he will continue to do so the following Sunday, right Carlos?

The more I think about it, the more I don't like what Carlos said. Grow up Bitch!

By Rogers, being the sensitive type individual that he is, I understand where he's coming from. It's a battle he can't win, and has opened himself up to be further critiqued because of his inability to handle so many potential interception possibilities. That's where so many fans are having a field-day with his comments. I don't doubt the fact there are other players on the team that feel the same way Carlos does, they just won't say it publicly. He may have served himself better had he taken the same approach.
