Re: Skins have 10th overall selection. Who do we pick?
I think we all can agree it all depends on what the team is able to get done in the off season in FA. My area of needs are;
OL NT LB/DE FS WR One could argue QB. If they decide to keep McNabb (which I doubt) and coach him up for next year then thats one less position, but I seriously think they dump McNabb for whatever they can get and lean heavily on Grossman next year, interceptions and all. So that leaves OL, NT, LB/DE, FS, and WR. I can see them making whatever big splashes they can at WR which again narrows down the picks. Dump Moss unless he takes a pay cut, keep Armstrong, Austin, and pick up whatever top WR is available in FA. So we are looking at OL, NT, LB/DE, FS, and maybe a QB. The choice at QB is either get a high enough pick to get one of the best or look for a developemental QB middle of the draft. We have no 3rd or 4th round pick which is where people are saying Andy Dalton might go. So again I would suggest dropping out of the 10th pick in hopes of picking up either another 2nd round pick or a 3rd and hope one of the good QB's are available. I'd just be supprised if they put all their eggs in to move up for a QB. Grossman is not great but not bad and already knows the scheme. Bringing in another QB would mean exactly what we saw with McNabb, a QB who doesn't know the scheme as good as Grossman. So if we are going to do that lets bring in a QB who can be developed for the future and use the top draft picks to shore up the OL. |
Re: Skins have 10th overall selection. Who do we pick?
safety is a real need but we have so many
We also need a FS. Needs are endless on this team, so anyone really.
yes is there a fs that is good at 10 pick? |

Peterson from LSU, the Cowboys are targeting him. |

I would agree but I think they are more SS material. One could argue about Landry and I know he was a FS in college but I think he fits better at SS. We need a sideline to sideline FS unless Barns impressed the coaching staff that much or Horton or Moore is the answer. |
Good call with AJ Green .... Blackmon will probably be gone now that I think about it ... AJ Green would be ideal .. kind of a Brandon Marshall WR .. be nice next to Moss/AA/AJ ... Cooley/Davis ... SKINS are headed in right direction, i've never felt better about a 6-10 team in my life.
Green is at this point rated higher than Blackmon, but there's a long way to go & a lot can change. Green is a thin dude, I wonder if his durability will be a question. Julio Jones is rated by most slightly lower than Green, both of those guys are top 10 as of now. I would love to see a wr picked but would be scared if they did so at #10. I wonder if Green or Jones happened to fall that far if he would be too good to pass up, a la the 49ers when they got Crabtree. |
Re: Skins have 10th overall selection. Who do we pick?
If I had to make a guess right now, I would say they take Von miller
|
Re: Skins have 10th overall selection. Who do we pick?
The player with the highest probability of success, excluding TE, FB, RB, and O-line. O-line is exluded since we already have an LT and nobody spends a high pick on the other positions of the line.

Re: Skins have 10th overall selection. Who do we pick?
Ditto, bottom line is this team is so freaking bad that a good pick at really any position would be an upgrade and a necessary pick. Team doesn't get fixed with one draft + offseason so I say go either O-Line or D-Line
I keep going back to this page where I found your post that states this team is so bad. I think your remarks to your opinion is far from the truth. Mike Shanahan has proven that he has a gauge on talent and can put a competitive team on the field who is close to winning games. There are glaring needs for this team without a doubt but that is true with most teams. The pick that is in dire need, IMO, is a blue chip Nose Tackle. The guys we have at that position have served us well but you need that one guy who sets the cadence for others to follow his performance. Look at most teams that run the 34 defense and you will note a dominating NT. |
QB Andrew Luck might not be a bad choice either I just didn't see him play.
Andrew Luck | QB | Stanford Cardinal QB Andy Dalton; Andy Dalton | QB | TCU Horned Frogs
No way luck falls to us at 10. He's a number one pick if he comes out. |

The whole team got decimated by injuries and that's why we weren't able to field a very good team. But if you are seriously saying that at 6-10 we're a good team then we don't have much else to discuss. Results matter, if this exact same team went 10-6 then we could discuss how good of a team we have. |
Re: Skins have 10th overall selection. Who do we pick?
Trade down to the teens, then trade down again.. I get the feeling we're going to go into this draft with 2 additional mid round (4th or 5th round) picks for McNabb and Haynesworth and then try to stock up on picks.
A lot depends on free agency but my doomsday scenario is Jake Locker at #10. He just screams HEATH SHULER to me. |
Re: Skins have 10th overall selection. Who do we pick?
I don't think we draft a QB imo

His track record with defensive talent, on the other hand, is not so great. It could be arguably poor. A look at his draft history shows this. |
