I havent figured out the passing trajectories yet, how do you do those? I'm still just hitting triangle or square and using pressure to throw it fast or a lob.
Yeah that's how you control it. They added a bunch of new trajectories and ball speeds. Plus you can also lead throws using the left stick. |

I know I can lead receivers and such with the left stick (but I never do). I've just noticed the better my QB the better results I have on passes. I played a full franchise season last year with Sexy Rexy as QB and I can already tell that RG3 is going to be better QB. Now if I can just become a better scrambler! I never even tryed last year with slow Rexy. |

Kinda hard to explain but I think it also has to do with the type of throw you make. If you throw a screen, the ball is going to come out a certain way (low and fast) vs if you're throwing deep (higher arc) for example. Basically there are different pre-determined arcs for different types of passes. I'll post a video later that explains it pretty well. |
Re: Madden '13 player ratings
The throw in Madden that has aways been difficult/frustrating for me to make is the one sort of deep down the middle but not too deep, like 20 yards or so, with a LB in zone coverage who can just jump up and swat it down. I would love to be able to lay one over his head and drop it into the receivers hands. Basically for the Redskins its that post pattern to say Fred Davis or Cooley or another guy coming off the line close to the OL. If I could somehow change the trajectory of that pass it would be great.

Re: Madden '13 player ratings
simmed a season, super realistic :P
griffin 3100 yard passing (26 td 13 int), 1500 rushing (8 td 11 fumbles) 14-2, lose to the saints in the NFC championship carriker has 14 sacks and then gets labelled as a bust by madden. awesome. |

It's fixed from what I've seen. I'm big on throwing down the middle to the TE's too, and I used to feel like tossing my controller through the TV when LB's would jump up and swat it or pick it off. Now I can make that throw no problem. |

Nice! 1500 yards rushing for the team or for RG3? If RG3, that's insane! |
Just scrambled with RG3, ran into my own lineman, fell down, got back up and then ran for 15 yds. never happened before in my time playing madden.

They added some nice sideline catches, really nice in fact. I had Josh Morgan jump up for a ball and as he was falling backwards out of bounds he dragged his feet. I almost teared up. :)

Just for curiousity, I played the other game on the Madden demo last night Giants @ 49ers. I was the Giants and I threw a crossing pattern to Nicks as he made his cut to the inside and he reached out and caught it one handed and brought it in and kept running. You are right Matty, some of the new catching animation is really good. I really want to play with the Lions now and throw some stuff to Megatron when the real game comes out. |
