Drs Foster and Smith has treats (and tablets) that will save your lawn. I've used them and they work. It neutralizes the pH balance in the urine or something like that.

Easier to treat the dog from the inside than fix the lawn afterwards.

Tried all that doesn't work with my Boarder Collie. She pees in one place all the time so that probably doesn't help either.
What's going on with those wheels? Looks cool.

Gassed up the mower last night, started right up after winter vacation...always nice. Then, I let my wife mow for the first time this year. Yard looks great.

Taking your advice, mlmpetert...and raised the deck height a little to "mow high". Your grass looks incredible.
Lawn Boys have traditionally had staggered wheels. It's just their thing. Allows you to get into corners and also keeps the center of the deck from scalping the turf.

Interesting. Plus, it's green, my favorite color.

Might have to look into those when my Troy-Bilt dies. It's only about 8 years old though.

They don't make them anymore. They continued to make 4 stroke ones after the EPA essentially forced the 2 stroke ones out of the US. Four stroke sales weren't that great (Lawn Boy had built their name on the two strokes), and they eventually went with a traditional wheels-at-the-corners setup to reduce costs. You can still find both the 4 and two stroke staggered deck models on Craigslist.

Does Dr Foster make treats I can serve to my buddies that pee all over my back yard?

Thats some very nice green carpet.

Our grass is just now turning green again up here.
It can look good at times.
Heres my back yard a couple May's ago.

I'll put a giant spoiler on the back and some "NOS" stickers!

Back to the weeding tips from mlmpetert...

I've always had really good luck with using a Weed Killer that you attach to your hose and spray the lawn down with. I'll do it in the spring and it lasts almost all year.

Anyone else ever tried it? Seems so much easier than using a spreader.

I have a pump sprayer i use to spot treat weeds but ive never used one of those garden hose sprayers before. But I litteraly just picked up some very simular stuff in concentrate.

Also i will give major props to this product if you are trying to weed out bermuda or other creeping warm season grasses from your lawn or garden bed:
[ame="http://www.amazon.com/PBI-Gordon-Ornamec-Grass-Herbicide/dp/B00178OB6I/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1366403734&sr=8-2&keywords=ornamec"]Amazon.com: Ornamec Grass Herbicide Quart: Patio, Lawn & Garden[/ame]

It works extremely well and wont kill your fescue grasses or other plants. It is however, expensive, but if you have a garden bed with plants you want to keep i see no other way of irradicating a creeping grass.

Also i keep these Round Up packages for my pump sprayer when i need to clear out an area to make way for something or kill weeds in mulch beds or other places:
[ame="http://www.amazon.com/Roundup-QuikPRO-Non-Selective-Herbicide-1-5-Ounce/dp/B00296C7PO/ref=sr_1_1?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1366403928&sr=1-1&keywords=roundup+packages"]Amazon.com: Roundup QuikPRO Non-Selective Herbicide, 5 (1.5-Ounce) Packets: Patio, Lawn & Garden[/ame]

And most importantly whats a good weed killer without an even better surfactant?!!?!?! This is a wetting agent made for ponds and lakes so im not even sure if its street legal when you add it to your off the shelf concentrate:
[ame="http://www.amazon.com/Airmax-Eco-systems-Cide-kick-Wetting-Agent/dp/B004CMZL60/ref=sr_1_1?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1366404056&sr=1-1&keywords=cidekick"]Amazon.com: Airmax Eco-systems Pond Cide-kick Wetting Agent 16 Oz: Patio, Lawn & Garden[/ame]

Of course the best weed killer of them all:

Also the guy i get my lawn mower repaired by swears by this stuff:

STA-BIL 22208 Fuel Stabilizer - 8 oz. : Amazon.com : Automotive

He says that 90% of is business is fuel related because of the seldom use or long term storage of gas in containers or in small engine machines, like generators and lawn mowers. It keeps the fuel system clean with regular use and keeps gas from breaking down during long periods (like winter). I used it all last year and stored my lawn mower properly with it and it started on the first pull this year (without starter spray or anything).

You just add a couple drops per gallon in your gas can during regular use. For winter storage you add like a ounce per gallon and let your mower run for 5 or 10 mins so that it cycles through the engine and fuel lines.

I have also heard other good things about it from other people and the internet. If you buy some get a small one because the stuff will last forever. Its like less than $5 at Walmart.

The STA-BIL Marine is a much better product. It's also a bit more expensive than the red, though.
