Like I said. Speculation, speculation, speculation. If PSU has outstanding academic NCAA violations, you would hear about it just like you do when any other college gets in trouble or sanctioned for not following the rules. And the soccer analogy would be a recruiting violation, not an academic violation.
You know what, let me try it this way:
EVERY baseball player is on steroids.
EVERY hockey player supports the strike.
EVERY person who lives in Philadelphia is an Eagles fan.
EVERY Dallas Cowboy is a criminal. (ok, well this one may have some stock).
Get the point? Just because it's true for some, doesn't mean there are not exceptions. If you want to believe that the programs that strive to remain above board (like PSU, Michigan, UVA, Notre Dame) are just as guilty as the rest, or that they have their "fair share" of violations, or for that matter any violations, and that PSU players don't have to do their own school work and that Paterno doesn't bench them for missing classes or doing poorly, then I suppose there is nothing I can do about that because you must know more than I about my own alma mater. But when you make blind and unsupported accusations to the public, I'll be here to point out that none of the facts support you.
Now that I'm sure everyone is sick of reading this rant, back to Redskins football.

By the way, I LOVE that Arrington was a surprise show at the voluntary workout when others on this site who claim to be Skins fans were so quick to SPECULATE that he wasn't there. Nothing satisfies me more than when the FACTS make people eat crow. Guess he might have learned something about dedication and work ethic after all from that corrupt JoePa and his violation ridden program.

PSUSKinsFan: Guess what, someone earlier in the thread said he wasn't there, I assumed they had a source. If not that had reason to believe that since the year before he missed multiple voluntary workouts. So don't get on your high Arrington horse and ride him into the model-player sunset.

Name once I've said I'm sure Penn State had academic violations? I've said I'm sure they have NCAA violations, that doesn't always mean giving students A's -- though if they had tutors doing homework I wouldn't be shocked.. Of course I can't prove it, schools cover this up and take forever to do so even with the appropriate resources. I promise you Penn State has broken NCAA rules, every school has.

Are you talking about when someone said that Arrington MAY have not been there because he MIGHT have been on his honeymoon? If so, that is just speculation on the part of that poster and unless he has direct ties with the team, it should just be treated as mere speculation and not fact.

Please, Matty. Show me where Arrington has stepped up and taken the team on his back? I have yet to see it, he talks like he wants it but when the going gets tuff, LaVar quiets down.

Do I ever say Spurrier good, Gibbs bad? I use the same arguments against Gibbs everyone used against Spurrier. Funny how that works. All of a sudden it's the players not executing - not poor coaching. I've said a million times that Spurrier had his share of problems, he needed to make adjustments. I've said the same thing about Gibbs's'sees', have I also not said he has three years to turn the team around before I call for a replacement? I think I have in nearly every thread. The same grace period I would have given Spurrier or any other coach. The difference between the two is Gibbs was smart enough to get one of the best coaching staffs in the NFL and still can't win.

Malcolm - he keeps trying to be a leader, but can't fill the shoes. Therefore making him a bad leader.

Daseal-was it two years ago when Arrington intercepted that pass. And the Redskins had an emotional recovery through the remainder of the season. When was that? And Arrington's arrogance and physical dominance is an anchor on defense. I've always thought that players like him elevate their worth in the locker room.

He made a big play - good. He was the #2 overall pick. That's what they do. However, calling him a leader because he got an interception isn't accurate. Todd Franz got an interception, was he a leader after that game?
