Re: Around the NFL - FA tampering/start
As Andrew Brandt says, first-ballot Business of Football HOF'er:
@AdamSchefter Compensation update: Falcons are giving QB Kirk Cousins a four-year, $180 million deal including $100 million guaranteed, per source. It’s $45 million per average per year.
Just name the business of sports Hall after Kirk. @spotrac With $100M guaranteed on his 4 year, $180M contract with the #Falcons, Kirk Cousins has now ensured over $330M in career earnings. Kirk Cousins' bank account is elite. |
C: Tyler Biadasz (Dallas) expected to be signed by Washington.
Per: Multiple Sources
Well, not great, but certainly an improvement over last years' signing, Gates, who we knew sucked at the time we signed him (or at least everyone not named Ron did) and Larsen. He is average (which is Ok - can't get stars everywhere). Armstrong signing was good now hopefully we can get Hunter to pair with him. |

Interesting to see where Fields lands now with Atlanta and Pittsburgh (presumably) out of the market. Bears options are reducing

Aside from that, the other winners have been: * Brady with the Pats (2015, 2017, and 2019) - who we know was underpaid in NE. * Wilson with the Seahawks (2014) - he was still in his rookie contract I believe. * When the Iggles won in 2017, Foles was their backup, and Wentz (who took them there) was in his rookie contract. * And the three wins by the Chiefs have been with Mahomes in his rookie contact and with the team friendly 10-year deal he is currently in. |

I thought the Jags signed Jacobs? (Earlier Report was bad???) |
I don't get how the Eagles always have cap space despite spending a lot each year...
They don't have any DBs or LBs to speak of (judging by last year) |

Jacobs went to the Packers, that's why they released Jones. |

I suppose so....
Adam Schefter After reaching agreement today with free-agent RB Josh Jacobs, the Packers informed RB Aaron Jones that he is being released, per source. Jones now will be a free agent.
|

Re: Around the NFL - FA tampering/start
Ed Werder from ESPN just got fooled by a fake Adam Schefter Twitter account.

Re: Around the NFL - FA tampering/start
RBs are getting paid, good for them.
@MarkMaske Josh Jacobs has lined up a deal to sign with the Packers, source confirms. So the running back deals today include Saquon Barkley to the Eagles, Jacobs to the Packers, D'Andre Swift to the Bears and Tony Pollard to the Titans. Next up will be Aaron Jones. |
Re: Around the NFL - FA tampering/start
Antonio Gibson to NE

Re: Around the NFL - FA tampering/start
Saw this on Yahoo! Sports:
"The legal tampering period of NFL free agency begins Monday at noon ET, and we should expect New England Patriots free agent offensive lineman Mike Onwenu to be a coveted player. Onwenu is not only a tremendous player based on his on-field performance over the last four years, he's also a very versatile player with his ability to excel at both tackle and guard. Mike Giardi of the Boston Sports Journal reported Monday that the Washington Commanders, New York Giants, Tennessee Titans and Baltimore Ravens are among the teams believed to be interested in Onwenu." I hope we can get this deal done. Owenu could lock down our RT position for years to come. He's 26 years old. Can play either OG position as well. |
