I must say, I've NEVER seen a group of fans so pissed off that their QB is 10/10 for 147 and a TD. This is hilarious from my POV.

The Texans are going to start bringing people up and it will be harder to get away with the shorter passes

Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)

Portis is averageing more than 6.0 yards a carry. Brunell is 14/14. Is anyone else still worried about the offense going foward (that one is rhetorical)?

I think Brunell has one imcomplete. Remember he threw one out of bounds.

That was an amazing run, how many rushing yards does Portis have now?

Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)

Thank god i started Portis today in two of my fantasy leagues. This offense is definitely clicking right now. Then again, this is the Texans. The true test is next week at New York.

Maybe this will be the shot in the arm we need to go down to Jacksonville.

No early celebrating though boys, one more half to go.

Takeaway the shovel pass and you will see why. It is clear that they are limiting the offensive today. Don't get me wrong. I not ready to see Jason in at this point, but I am not going to make believe that this a good team we are playing today.

Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)

Great gameplan so far. Short quick hitting high percentage passes to get Brunell's confidence going, and they're leaning heavily on the ground game.

Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)

Ok, Brunell is 14-14 for 191 yards and a TD - WHEN ARE WE PUTTING IN CAMPBELL?!!

Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)

He was listed at 14/14 on espn portis has 147 total 69 Rush 78 Rec

Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)

We probably won't throw a lot in the second half because of the fourteen point lead, so I guess short passes will continue to be the order of the day. Brunell 14-14 only two passes longer than ten yards, and one of them was called back.

But remember, there is NO such thing as an easy road game in the NFL. It is far easier to have offense at home than on the road. So for this team to go into Houston and put up 21 in the first half is really impressive.

I also love how Saunders is mixing in more multiple TE formations. It's keeping the offense unpredictable, keeping Brunell on his feet and in rhythm, and keeping the chains moving.

I have to say I'm a much happier fan this week.

GTripp0012 09-24-2006 02:29 PM

Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)

I'm also very impressed that the team can get so many penalties, and the offense is effecient enough to overcome them. I'd like to see the O-line play more disciplined, but I'll take a barrage of flags if it means our QB doesn't get hit.

12thMan 09-24-2006 02:31 PM

Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)

I'll take the 14/14 on Brunell but I do remember him throwing one out of bounds and a guy for the Texans on the sidelines caught it.

GTripp0012 09-24-2006 02:31 PM

Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)

The key to the game now is this first drive. If we can force a three and out, we will control the second half.

BrudLee 09-24-2006 02:32 PM

Re: 9/24/06: Redskins (0-2) at Texans (0-2)

Face it haters. Brunell looks great. Take away the shovel pass and he still looks good. Take away the Andre Johnson pass and the Texans look like garbage. Thankfully, it's very difficult to take plays away.

We need a win, and we're on the way. Be happy.
