Re: Bill B Presents TMC's Pick the Position Poll
If Lemar Marshall is so bad, how come he had such a good year in 2005? Did he forget how to play football? Or is it maybe that last year Salave'a was healthy and stout against opposing linemen, and paired nicely with Griffin in keeping offensive linemen from beating the Skins up?
Salave'a has not been healthy this season and has not been the immovable object he was in '04 or '05. Golston has some nice quick little moves in pass rushing situations, but he's undersized and gets plowed on running plays. Put in a big ass DT, and all of a sudden you'll be praising Lemar Marshall again next year. He'll flow to the ball more freely.
What about drafting DT Alan Branch (6'6", 331 lbs) from Michigan? |

Branch wouldn't be bad at all. |

I'd be IN LOVE with that pick. John Henderson prototype. |

John Henderson prototype.
Do we have a shot at getting this guy? |
Re: Bill B Presents TMC's Pick the Position Poll
I think we have a great shot at Branch (unfortunately) but I think it might be just as good, if not better, to trade down and get a DT (like I said before Okam or Tyler, I doubt Pitcock would be available) and a CB
|
Re: Bill B Presents TMC's Pick the Position Poll
I went DE...CB looked like the biggest problem early on but since Springs has been healthy it has not been as big a problem as our run defense...
|
Re: Bill B Presents TMC's Pick the Position Poll
Yeah, a DT would be crucial. A big meaty immovable dude would do wonders for our linebacking core on run stopping
|

Is Okam or Tyler similar in run stopping / physical presence as Branch? - If so it may be better to trade down. One thing about top 10 picks is they do cost a lot and if you miss on them your cap gets hit hard. |

Maybe it's because work has been stressing me out, but that was one of the funniest sentences I've read in a long time. You're right though. Look what Ngata (?) did for baltimore's D. |
Re: Bill B Presents TMC's Pick the Position Poll
Yeah, I was trying to make it sound kinda gay for laughs

Branch is 6'6", 330 lbs. (I think) and Okam is 6'5", 320 lbs. Tyler is much smaller 6'2", 305 lbs. |
Re: Bill B Presents TMC's Pick the Position Poll
yeah, I think we should go for Okam due to his size if he's available after branch. He might compliment the smaller and quicker golston, who will have the runnstopping bigger body of wynn on his side to help him fill the gaps, while carter can take the outside more often while Okam would fill up that right side middle.

Big and meaty... I don't know if I should laugh or barf. LOL |
Re: Bill B Presents TMC's Pick the Position Poll
This may be off the wall, but I'd seriously consider moving Marcus to MLB. Play Rocky and LeMar on the outsides, sign Justin Smith as a DE, and trade down for multiple picks to draft a DT (Okam, Tyler?) and a CB (Bennett, Cason?)
There's a LB shuffle that could happen. Sorta a waste of MW in the middle though isn't it? |

I dunno, MLB could be where he could have the most impact. Teams aren't running at MW, if he's in the middle they can't completely avoid him. |

No idea what that means, but thats straight out of Mel Kiper's mouth. |
Re: Bill B Presents TMC's Pick the Position Poll
Well i said corner but DE was a tempting choice too, who knows maybe you fellas who want to see a DE come in it might be Dwight Freeney

Re: Bill B Presents TMC's Pick the Position Poll
we need a dt or de to bring pressure up front and help the secondary. right now it's no pressure and we're getting picked apart
|

I don't want Freeney if only for the reason we'll just be living our stereotype. |

It's not a bad idea but it's not going to happen. It would take a year to get everybody in harmony. But if lavar were still here, he'd would have made a great MLB. |

John Henderson prototype.
Everytime I saw Mich play this year that guy was very disruptive. Always in the other teams backfield. Now that would be a very nice pick for us. |

Then why didn't we make him one while he was here? No discipline! |
