That's true, I'm in the same boat. But at least you and I know it has to be one of those sly "who's the man" smiles instead of the good old "heh heh heh, hey Butthead look, hot chicks!" smiles. Settle down, Beavis. |
Re: What's your pet peeve?
Right, because the one on the far left is conveniently covering the one spot that would show JUST how pumped you are to be there.
I also hate it when people "volunteer" me for things that I never said I would do. I can't tell you how many times I've had to help family members move furniture because my parents told them I would without talking to me first.
My mom is notorious for this...especially when it comes to computer stuff. "Oh, Jason will do it..." They flew me down to Florida a few years ago to hook up a wireless network and a laptop for my grandmother...just so they had something to use when they went to visit. Forget the fact my grandmother was perfectly happy with WebTV. And of course, I wanted to fly late Friday night so I could sleep in a bit Saturday. Oh no. Flew out 6:30 Saturday morning, and returned at 10pm Sunday night. And you'd think, Oh florida...nice weather. Wrong. mid 50s and windy all weekend. |

Mine is when you are walking along (anywhere) and you say "Good Morning" or whatever it may be and the other person just ignores you. That really pisses me off when they don't even acknowledge.

Re: What's your pet peeve?
5) people who type 'to' instead of 'too'
4) ignorance 3) Ravens fans who are old enough to have watched football and had a team (namely the skins) before the ravens moved to town...and use the worst possible excuse for not liking the skins, u know the whole "Before the ravens came to Baltimore, I didn't really have a team, I just liked to watch football". No matter what they say, either they were spineless fairweather fans who jumped ship when the skins were struggling and the ravens did well OR they aren't true football fans anyway b/c they didn't care enough to follow a team until it came signed sealed and delivered to their doorstep. true baltimorons! 2) females who are clearly attractive who point out some sort of flaw of theirs that isn't really a flaw in an attempt to eek out a compliment 1) people who spell the word definitely with and A...GOD I HATE THAT! |

Sadly, it often is.

Men who think it is often that PMS is the only reason for agruments.

There is one such occasion when PMS is not to blame for an argument. That would be when both of the people arguing are male. |
Re: What's your pet peeve?
hess, what is this "agrument" you are talking so much about? Are those the type of arguments where PMS is NEVER to blame? ;)

How about when you hold a door open for someone and they don't say "Thank You". At that point I usually just belt out a loud "Your Welcome". |

People who keep their bluetooth in their ear simply to show other people that they have a bluetooth and are, therefore, cool and sophisticated. I've got a bluetooth, but I don't walk around constantly with it on.

Haha. That's why I switched my avatar to Dan -- barely anyone has him.

That irked me until I stopped holding doors for people. I simply don't bother holding the door for people. If they are right behind me I'll push the door further open as I enter but that's about it. Of course there are exceptions to the rule, I'll still hold the door open for old people and people who have their hands full with children. On the flip side, it also irks me when people hold the door open for me when I'm 25+ feet behind them. They expect you to run to the door or at least quicken your pace. |
Re: What's your pet peeve?
people who use the bluetooth and insist on talkin as loudly as they can in public areas...i have a bluetooth headset that i only use in the car but when u r walking down the street and somebody starts talkin loudly in ur direction it can get annoying and misleading.

I'm with you on that, I'm much too portly to be hustling to an open door. On that note, I hate when people try to be too nice and accommodating, because sometimes it can just cause more problems. Like when you're trying to make a left turn and someone coming the other way is trying to turn right. If they just go first like they're supposed to you can follow behind and it's no big deal; but, those rare times that they try to stop and wave you by you usually end up stopped in an intersection like an idiot. Basically people in general are my pet peeve. I think I was a sociology major because I wanted to know what made people so universally annoying, but unfortunately we didn't cover that in any of my undergrad classes. Maybe that's a grad school thing. |

This one is for all the parents:
When your little one accidentally kicks you in the nuts when you pick them up. My son always puts his legs out like he is trying to pick up speed on a swing. |

Easy SGG, we're just having a little fun. I don't think it was meant as a dreaded "personal attack." I understand the mods' desire to keep things civil but it'd get pretty boring around here if we couldn't poke fun of one another at least a little bit. It's not my board though, so if you mods think I'm wrong feel free to put me in my place. Just my opinion. My next pet peeve: people who put me in my place! |
