It was pacman that said after the florida game rumble, and i quote" we need more thugs like that on the team" refering to the head stomping and sucker punches thrown during that fight. All I have to say is, what a piece of shit and a waste of flesh he is. Im GLAD Gibbs did not draft this moron. I personally think he should be made the ultimate example and be banned for life. We dont need this kind of element in the nfl. And I dont feel sorry for him in the least. Lots and I mean lots of young men grow up in 'rough' neighborhoods with no father and yada yada yada, and they do just fine. So again I say the punishment is great and sets a excellent example for current and future players, but I still wish it was a lifetime ban.

THE ADVISORY BOARD WAS APPOINTED BY NFLPA AND [U]TROY VINCENT IS PRESIDENT OF NFLPA[/U], AND SITS ON THE DAMN ADVISORY COUNSEL. So the NFLPA is on the same side as Goodell. The counsel supported this decision.


Thrash is part of the new NFL Player Advisory Council to advise NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell on issues affecting players.

The six-member council also includes former Redskins safety Troy Vincent, who is currently president of the NFL Players Association (NFLPA). The others include safety Donovin Darius of the Jaguars, fullback Tony Richardson of the Vikings, center Jeff Saturday of the Colts and linebacker Takeo Spikes of the Eagles.

The NFL would seem like a much safer place if the media would stop villifing everything T.O. does. Owens doesn't engage in criminal behavior, and he's a hard worker. He's a bit overrated as a player, and he's an idiot that handles situations in the worst possible way, but I'm guessing that there's a lot of guys across the league who do that. The difference is everything T.O. does is now a really important occurence, and he ends up getting villified for [I]saying[/I] stupid things things when there are people in the league like Pac Man and Henry and Tank Johnson who are actually [I]doing [/I]stupid things.

I think the perception of the fans are getting these lines blurred nowadays. Terrell Owens isn't a criminal. Randy Moss isn't a criminal. But because of the mass media coverage on them, the league develops a bad rep when guys like Chris Henry and Pac Man Jones [I]actually[/I] do stuff wrong.

Yes. I would leave him on the field. If he commited a crime and was convicted then the legal system may keep him off the field. What if you were charged with a crime and before you were convicted your employer fired you? Fair?

IF these two clowns care about the NFL and playing football this wont be an issue. They need to understand that the people they surround them selves with are a HUGE contributing factor. If they dont realize that then they will continue to get into trouble. Mike Tyson dug his own grave, another idiot that had the world in his hand, and got too big for himself. If Pacman and Henry are not smart enough to stay out of trouble, then they dont deserve to play. I can't believe people make excuses for this crap. Terminating a contract in addition to say, a 8-game suspension, gives the player a fair opportunity to continue his career if another club is interested in taking that risk. A year long suspension just puts a player's livelihood in limbo for too long.

well alot of professions require licenses, such as my oath to uphold and follow the law and am required to notify the maryland bar if i get arrested . . . the language of the commish's letter assumes they did what they are accused of even though i dont think pacman went to trial yet . . . did he? was he found guilty or plea down? . . either way, the league has set a very stern standard that they are going to have to consistently apply from here on out, good luck with that

does the nfl suspension of pacman open the door to a long term (6 mos or more and he aint in county holding but in state penn) jail sentence if he is found guilty b/c he wont be able to make the argument that incarcerating him would be an undue hardship given the millions of dollars he would forfeit????

No he has not been to trial yet on these latest events. And that shouldn't make a hill of beans, personal conduct has nothing to do with going to court.

This guy is a lose cannon, and is getting exactly what he deserves. The lose of his PRIVILEGES to play in this league for at LEAST one year.
