Re: Vomiting while I type this, but...
dallas is the best in the nfc right now. gb looks good.
pats and colts in the afc, holy crap look at those pats. broncos look good. still early though, and lots of time left for things to change. |
I'm honestly more impressed with the Packers so far based on who they've beat.
Because they beat Philly=1-3(even washington managed a win) Giants=2-2(dallas was all over them, washington was......) Chargers=1-3(Norv turner is the coach what do you expect, they just lost to the freaking chiefs at home) Lions=3-1(the only team that is credible they played was Chicago) |
Re: Vomiting while I type this, but...
I won't be totally sold on Dallas until their schedule stiffens a bit, but there is no denying they are looking phenomenal. Romo proved last year he's a fast starter. Let's see how he plays as the season wears on. Actually, I just looked at their schedule. Their remaining non-divisional games are as follows:
@Buff NE Minn NYJ Green Bay @Detroit @Carolina Aside from the Packers and Patriots, they don't have too much competition. Carolina is decent, Detroit isn't horrible, but that's about it. Shit. |
Re: Vomiting while I type this, but...
Dallas is playing the best ball in the NFC East, but there is 16 weeks of football, they will fizzle out, Romo is good, but not great (He needs to learn how to hold on to the ball first). There defense has been good, but they have holes. Really, the only person that is a real threat is Barber. Owins does not like Sean Taylor, and tends to stay out of his way. Actually the real Threat is Wade Wilson, and his Super Viagra.
How does NE stomping Dallas take anything away from Dallas? They're good, and that's all there is too it. We can stand by with our arms folded all we want, but the Cowboys are a really good team. I won't project any Super Bowls yet because anything can happen 13 weeks from now.
But are they one of the top two or three teams in the league right now, probably so.
See that just sounds nuts. Top two or three teams? They're undefeated after playing some shit teams. Dallas MAY be the best team in the NFC RIGHT NOW. That's it. Several AFC teams would stomp the shit out of them if they played today (when Dallas seems to be at its peak): NE, Indy, Denver (because of its secondary against Dallas recievers). Give me a friggin break on Dallas. This thread is starting to piss me off worse than watching the skins lose to NY. |
I agree that, right now, the Cowboys and the Packers are the teams to beat in the NFC. But, remember, it is a long season. yep...that's the ticket |
The Cowboys are going to the Super Bowl ( I now pause to swallow the throwup in my mouth). Romo looks awesome, their offense is freaking rolling, and their defense is playing well. Their only weakness appears to be their secondary. And you know what really bites? They freakin have two 1st round picks next year, theirs and Cleveland's. I hate Dallas.
Don't you worry my fellow warpather. Now that the opposition has 4 weeks of Jason Garrett's offense on videotape, I feel they will be challenged a little more. |

I think you are right, it is a matter of time before someone catches up to his style of offense and make adjustments. Last year, when Romo was fresh and not many people knew how he would play, respond and react, Dallas was kicking a$$ and winning. After that horrendous game against the Saints, everyone knew what was coming and how to put pressure on Romo and Dallas suffered. |

The key to Playing Romo is have them snap the ball over his head have him kick it another 10 yards then shuck and jive his way for 25 yards. Do this 4 times and he will have run 180 yards and too tired to move after that. |
Re: Vomiting while I type this, but...
I very highly doubt Romo will continue this surge he has had at the beginning of the season. The Cowboys have yet to face a formidible defense, and yes, I am saying the Bears defense is no longer formidible. I think this game against the Bills will indeed prove a tough test for them as they look towards next week against the Patriots. We'll see how they do against the Patriots and if they beat them, all Redskins fan should be worried.

Nah, not yet. The Bills defense is just as beat up as the Rams offense. Thier injury report reads like a "who's who" of the Bills "D". Week 6 is where most of the questions originated in this thread will be answered. |
Re: Vomiting while I type this, but...
Anyone watching the Bills Cowboys game this weekend tell me what you think of Trent Edwards. I thought going into the draft last year, he was being overlooked. I think he can be a pretty solid QB in the league for many years
Curious to know what others think. |
Re: Vomiting while I type this, but...
Yeah Smootsmack Edwards has always been overlooked because he was on a terrible team, Stanford, that was always at the bottom or near the bottom of the Pac-10. Edwards is a pretty solid qb and has all the tools to get it done in the NFL. I think he will prove to a better option for the Bills in the long run then Losman.
|
Re: Vomiting while I type this, but...
I still don't understand what everyone saw in Losman. So, he could throw it deep every once in a while to a somehow wide-open on every play Lee Evans. He never was that good.

Re: Vomiting while I type this, but...
When you are undefeated in the NFL, other teams really get up to play you when you go to their house... Hence the line, " On any given Sunday any team can beat any team". ...So if you are going into this weekend 4-0
I wouldn't overlook any team...cause you just might get your ass kicked. |

Curious to know what others think.
His injuries in college may have hampered his development and ultimately done him in, but around the middle of the third, I'm not surprised someone took a shot on him. The college stats basically don't guarentee he will be crap, nor that he will be great. They lean towards him not being starter material, but having a promising career as a backup. Think Derek Anderson maybe? Although Anderson has looked legitimately good, I'm not sure how far he can get on that 56% completion. |

unfortually i think Dallas is going to the SB too. I hope not. There ofense is great. It kills me to watch them steam roll everyone. Hopefully NE will take care of them in a few weeks

NE can steam roll anyone, I'm not too worried. Sadly I think whoever makes it to the SB on the NFC side will be subject to a spanking from NE. |
Re: Vomiting while I type this, but...
Don't look now, but of the teams New England has played thus far, the opponents have a combined 4-12 record. So they are playing crap teams too.

Re: Vomiting while I type this, but...
i hate dallas...
but they look damn good, definately a top 5 team in my opinion in the NFL right now, RIGHT NOW. and for all you guys that say its not the beginning of the season its till the end, well say that when dallas is beating new england at halftime with a record of 5-0. yes im actually predicting dallas to be ahead at the half but lose the game. they are clearly working on all cylinders right now. im just pissed because the redskins are about the most boring team in the NFL right now. like watching golf.... |
Re: Vomiting while I type this, but...
We can crown Dallas for being the NFC's best team in September, but instead I'll just award them a plastic participation trophy.
They could very well be playoff bound, but they will accrue their fair share of losses when they start playing competant teams. They haven't even played the best two teams in their own division yet, (although if Philly doesn't get healthy, they wont be much of an obsticle) and I'd bet that in those 4 games, they might win one. Plus they still have to go into the meadowlands to play the New York Giants, and the G-Men gave them everything they could handle in Dallas week one. They are definately good enough to win some of those games, but not good enough to win them all. In a division where 10 wins isn't going to be enough to lock it up, I would not worry about them getting off to a 4-0 (prospectively 5-0) start. To get to the playoffs they will have to remain in 2nd place or better in their own division. There is no reason to think they are a better team than Philly, New York, or us for that matter. 4-0 is an advantage at this point, nothing more. Everyone thought they were the best team in the conference last year too and they then went out and got smoked by a much better football team in New Orleans. People just want an excuse to say Dallas is the best team in the world. That does not make it so. Impressive month, but I'm not sold. To me, the Giants are a better football team waiting in the wings. We won't struggle with the Cowboys, I don't think. |
Re: Vomiting while I type this, but...
Their offense is all big plays right now. What happens when they run into a competant defense, one that does not have coverage breakdowns all over the place? Will they be able to sustain drives? Or will Romo start turning the ball over before he gets to the end zone.
Any offense looks good when they are making a lot of plays down the field in the passing game, but no good defense will allow that. New England won't for sure. And, to be honest, neither will we or Philadelphia. |

If NE takes "care of Dallas" they are going to punish the Skins on 10-28-07. That is going to be a really loop sided score because the Skins are not going to score with Campbell. |

Re: Vomiting while I type this, but...
there is a whole heck of alot of football to be played. the cowboys really havent been tested and they still wont really be tested this week. On any given sunday has always been my motto. my one lone question about this team is who have they played? the giants, rams, dolphins, and bears. who are a combined....3-13 that just doesnt impress me much. Lets see what happens when they play my pick for superbowl winner...NE Patriots.
