Re: Sean Taylor has died...
RIP In peace Sean Taylor, there was never a player I enjoyed watching more than you.
|
Re: Sean Taylor has died...
I hope God has accepted him through the pearly gates. He was and will be my favorite Redskin for years to come. I love you Sean, and maybe one day I shall meet you in heaven. I pray for your family and your daughter. I'll be mourning in your Jersey through out work today, and I will place a mural on my race car for you, so poeple never forget that you LIVED. Rest in Peace my friend, I love you and will not forget you.

Re: Sean Taylor has died...
Rest in peace, Sean.

Re: Sean Taylor has died...
I have so much to say and I can't say anything. He was my guy damn it. RIP Sean. Love you man. His poor daughter....

Re: Sean Taylor has died...
I am beside myself. I just cant understand why this would happen to someone, let alone someone as special as Sean. Not that his life is anymore important than ours, cause at the end of the day we are all equal and special to someone, but this is so tragic. I sit here and the angry side of me cant help but think of alot of other people this could have and should have happened to, and none of us would be surprised. And Im not saying I wish this, but you take someone like pacman jones, who I really despise, takes everything for granted, trys to live the thug life, has stared death in the face on more than one occasion and is still here among us. Would any of us be surprised to hear of him being murdered? I really hope they solve this case in a hurry. I want to know who and what was behind this senseless act of violence. All I have to say is Sean Taylor was the Man! May God Bless and comfort his family, friends, teammates and his fans from everywhere.

Re: Sean Taylor has died...
We at hailRedskins.com share in your complete grief and sympathy. What a shock. I am still shell shocked. As Redskins fans, we lost a great guy!
|
Re: Sean Taylor has died...
It's unbelievable the emails I've been getting from non-football fans and people expressing their condolences to me - to me! I didn't know Sean Taylor, but I've already received three personal emails from people that want to know how I'm doing and that they are "here for me" if I need to talk.
It just brought me to tears all over again... |
Re: Sean Taylor has died...
Sometimes, as a fan of the game, it's tough to remember that the players I enjoy watching so much are human. Events like this are harsh reminders.
|
Re: Sean Taylor has died...
i am shocked it doesn't seem possible
|
Re: Sean Taylor has died...
this is the worst news to wake up to. he was a great player. games will never be the same without him. its going to be hard to watch anymore without him out on the field....rest in peace
|
Re: Sean Taylor has died...
lets look forward to his daughters future. may she enjoy a long and peaceful life. 24 years old is to old to leave. may he rest in peace, and god bless his family
|
Re: Sean Taylor has died...
Sean Taylor not only has my respect on the field...
You did hear that he got shot protecting his daughter right? The man is a hero! And Im proud to share a first name with him! I know he is in a better place I hope that the killers (because thats what they are now) are brought to justice |
Cowboys fan here expressing deepest sympathies in your time of sorrow may he rest in peace
To all those who follow other teams, thanks so much for coming here to express your support. It REALLY means a lot. I don't think anyone outside of this forum understands how i feel right now. Our best player and a great man that I followed for years is gone and I haven't felt this way since 9/11. The shock and sadness that I am experiencing right now cannot be put into words. I am truly thankful that people such as yourself have been so caring, kind, and sympathetic. |
Re: Sean Taylor has died...
It still hasn't sunk in just how big of a loss this is to us. I keep thinking, man the plays that could've happened, I just can't believe that i'm never going to see him play on a football field again. Like Westcoastskinsfan said, watching the game makes me think that these players are more than human, and then events like this make me realize they are just humans after all.
|
Re: Sean Taylor has died...
I'm in absolute shock right waking up looking for more encouraging news like was announced before I went to bed, but instead I wake up to find out he had died. I just... I'm dumbfounded. I'm even more dumbfounded by the media's need to bring up his past issues. What about the fact he was asleep @ home and was trying to protect his girlfriend and their daughter? I'm just absolutely disgusted by the coverage and response this tragedy has recieved.
RIP Sean and my whole hearted prayers go out to your family and friends during this trying time. You will be sorely missed, but you will never be forgotten by us. |
Re: Sean Taylor has died...
Someone just walked up and gave me a big hug and another lady was just casually talking about it. The latter has a son that plays basketball (NBA potential), and she says I heard about the guy for the Skins that died, so sad.
I said, you know this was my favorite football player...not just Redskin, but football player. And then I said this guy was my Michael Jordan of football. It almost brought her to tears. |

This guy was a HoF'er in the making. He was undoubtedly our best player and playmaker on defense. He was the enforcer that opponents feared for his hitting and ballhawking skills. He forced teams to gameplan around him and wideouts to grow alligator arms. More importantly, however, he was a guy we all came to love. There is truly a hole in my heart and, being outside of D.C., I feel like no one outside of this forum understands just how I feel. I cried once and I've felt like crying all day. I still cannot believe that I will never see ST donning a Redskins uniform, making a big hit, or nabbing a ball ever again. I feel like I've been robbed. |

This site is the only place I can discuss this. No one else is going to understand how a grown man can be levelled by the death of someone he never met. Especially when that someone is "just" an athlete. I am so grateful for this site today. Thank you to everyone here for sharing their thoughts on this tragedy. It feels so much better to talk about this without worrying that you'll sound childish for caring so much about a football player. Here, I feel like it is understood. I guess I don't know how to put what I'm trying to say into words but I hope you all get my drift... |

I'm thankful for this site too. I haven't been posting much lately because I've been really busy with my new job. Plus, now that I live in Baltimore I'm not around as many Skins fans so not too many people around me have the slightest idea of how much this means to me. I've only known these people for 3 weeks so they don't know how important this entire team is to me, and they don't realize that I've lost a meaningful person in my life. Obviously I didn't know Sean personally but when you follow someone so closely you start to feel like you know them, but I guess you all know that all too well. It just so happens that we don't have training today and i basically have nothing to do but hang out on the internet. I'm glad i have this site and i don't just have to sit here re-reading the same articles over and over. |
Re: Sean Taylor has died...
Crushed...I went to bed after hearing that he was responsive and in ICU. Only to wake up this morning to my wife telling me he died. What a senseless act against someone who was seemingly turning his life around in a very positive way. I really feel for his family and friends. If I feel like this, I can't imagine the emotions they are going through. Sad, just sad...

Re: Sean Taylor has died...
I signed up on this board to send my condolences from the Denver Broncos community. I am a NOVA local and have always secretly pulled for the skins to do well, plus all my friends are redskins fans. I know how difficult this loss must be for all of you. When Darrent Williams passed last January it was very hard for all of the Broncos Nation. I am sure that all of you personally feel as if you lost a close friend. These are very tough times for every football fan. I hope that you guys will be able to bounce back from such a horrible incident and that his killer/killers will be brought to justice. My prayers and condolences will be with Sean's family and all of you.
RIP #21 --Guy |
Re: Sean Taylor has died...
This hurts. RIP ST. May you find peace.
|
Re: Sean Taylor has died...
Just woke up on the West Coast about a half hour ago with a phone call from a friend in DC. I can't tell you how I dreaded picking up the phone.
Rest in peace. #21 |
Re: Sean Taylor has died...
Im simply still in absolute shock. RIP Sean Taylor. You were my favorite the day you became a Redskin.

Re: Sean Taylor has died...
How unfortunate that in the end Sean would not outrun the demons that terrorized his youth.
I hear everyone talking about the boy becoming a man & I can't say I disagree. Sean' play spoke for itself & his passion for the game never waivered, even in his darkest moments. I'm sure the emotions will be running there highest each time this seaon the skins take to the field with the chants of "Sean" roaring out of the tunnel. All heads hanging low for that one moment right before kickoff & the electricity that the fans will bring each home game to get the Redskins Family charged up about who #21 was... I know we have to move on. but I will never forget who Sean Taylor was, a boy, a football player, a father & a man. RIP Mr Taylor |
Re: Sean Taylor has died...
I think it has all been said by now regarding the tragedy that is, the murder of ST.
I said it out loud a moment ago, "Sean Taylor is dead". it sounds like another language, or a lie, or anything but the truth. STILL.........just impossible to believe |
Re: Sean Taylor has died...
The first thing I said when I went to the washington post page was "What!?" This is fucking awful and it hurts something bad, all football aside. What a way to waste a human life that was going so well.
I am wearing my ST Jersey today in his memory. |

Re: Sean Taylor has died...
Well....I'm heading out for the day, guys.
Just wanted to stop in one more time, to this thread, and extend our deepest condolences from all of us at DaBears.com I was really hoping to meet you all under very different circumstances in a couple of weeks, when Chicago comes to D.C. (Dec. 6th). As I said earlier.... We may be on opposing sides of the field on Sundays, but we are also, and more importantly...Brethren, connected by a common love of the same sport. Sean Taylor would have been a great asset to this sport, and he will be very missed by ALL. We are truly sorry for your pain, and our hearts and prayers go out to Sean's loved ones first and formost, and to the great franchise and it's awesome Fan Base, of the WASHINGTON REDSKINS. Know that we all, at DaBearz.com, wish you to know that we are also there for you. R.I.P. Sean Taylor . |
Re: Sean Taylor has died...
I am stunned. I stayed up late last night hoping to get an update. I figured from what we heard he would start to make a comeback. Amazing how fragile the human body really is. I can't imagine what his family is going though.
|
Re: Sean Taylor has died...
He was the face of the squad since LaVar left. It kinds of sucks being in LA today beause they are not too many Skins fans around, and on the radio they just talk about the UCLA and USC game. RIP #21 you will be missed Hail to the Redskins!!

Re: Sean Taylor has died...
I am with those who are shocked, speechless and hoping that this is all some crappy dream from which I will awake.
Thank you to all the classy fans from other teams sending their condolences. RIP Sean. |

Re: Sean Taylor has died...
To An Athlete Dying Young
The time you won your town the race We chaired you through the market-place; Man and boy stood cheering by, And home we brought you shoulder-high. Today, the road all runners come, Shoulder-high we bring you home, And set you at your threshold down, Townsman of a stiller town. Smart lad, to slip betimes away From fields where glory does not stay, And early though the laurel grows It withers quicker than the rose. Eyes the shady night has shut Cannot see the record cut, And silence sounds no worse than cheers After earth has stopped the ears. Now you will not swell the rout Of lads that wore their honours out, Runners whom renown outran And the name died before the man. So set, before its echoes fade, The fleet foot on the sill of shade, And hold to the low lintel up The still-defended challenge-cup. And round that early-laurelled head Will flock to gaze the strengthless dead, And find unwithered on its curls The garland briefer than a girl's. A.E. Housman |
