United States of Tara. Crazy fascination.

Re: Guilty pleasures: TV shows
I like Top Chef, American Idol (even though I think the contestants suck this year), and I can not get enough of BIG LOVE on HBO. It is really good, IMO, just as good as what the Sopranos was. Oh, and to stick with the theme of this thread I watch project runway with my wife.

Re: Guilty pleasures: TV shows
I have to go with Tough Love on VH1 its just funny to see women who think they know everything get it stuck to them
Two and a half men is a guilty pleasure? It's the highest rated comedy on TV. I like it too.
Another highly rated show, but definitely does qualify as a guilty pleasure because you can get made fun of for it... American Idol. I watch it religiously and I even vote for contestants.
My girlfriend is huge into Idol. Some weeks I roll my eyes and can't stand to be in the room. Other weeks I'm like "Gosh, I didn't think that was the right song for her/him, but they have a great voice. I think you'll see them in the top 5." It's inexplicable. I like it. And I don't. |
Re: Guilty pleasures: TV shows
I like the show on the Golf Channel about Charles Barkley.
I like Cash Cab. I like Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld (3 AM EDT on FNC) I like re-runs on Magnum p.i. on RTN, but for some reason they won't show them in order, which is stupid. They jump all over the place will nilly from season to season. Rockford comes on right after Magnum which is good too. A little before my time, but still good. 30 Rock is the only show that consistently makes me laugh. Oh and this will surprise you. I like Living with Ed on Planet Green. |

I cried during tonight's episode of Friday Night Lights. Shit. Yeah I said it.

That's not a guilty pleasure, that's the best show on TV. I saw the whole season on DirecTV's showing of the season this fall. Amazing season. I heard they're about to renew for two more years. Which episode was it tonight, the one where Street moves to NY? Cause yeah, that got me too. |

Unless DirectTV picks it up again like last season it is a goner. I hope it stays on. |

Nope. Picked up for two more 13-episode seasons: Friday Night Lights will be back ... for TWO more seasons - TV Squad Exclusive: 'Friday Night Lights' close to scoring a renewal? | Friday Night Lights | Ausiello Files | EW.com DirecTV picked it back up. I can't believe more people don't watch it, you won't find better acting anywhere on the small screen. |

I love 24 and Lost, but I feel like (pathetically) I'm emotionally involved in Friday Night Lights. The one where Street moves to NY was probably my favorite episode ever, although that wasn't last night's show. Last night was the one when JD McCoy's dad kicks his ass in the parking lot, Tyra's mom gives her the "you're gonna make it out of Dillon" speech, and Riggins tells Lyla he loves her. It was like a cathartic whirlwind for all my favorite characters. Plus Saracen caught a TD. Awesome episode. The "guilty pleasure" part wasn't the fact that I watch FNL, it's the fact that I admitted to crying while watching it. PS- Coach's wife is so hot. Especially now that she's the Principal. :) |

I am baffled why A) no ones watches(actually I'm not...I suspect most people think it is just a football show. It isn't any more than The Office is a show about paper) and B) why it gets zero rspect come awards time. It is far and away better than just about any other network show. Better in the way the Sopranos and The Wire were better. |

And who doesn't love Lyla Garrity. I mean come on. Although I see from the link you posted they will be on next season to wrap up their characters because they won't be continuing with the show. That's a bummer. But as long as Principal Taylor is around, I'm good. I guess when you've got a show starring "high school" kids, there's bound to be some turnover in cast after a few years. |
Re: Guilty pleasures: TV shows
FYI Aimee Teegarden turns 20 this year, so it's not out of bounds to think she's hot.

Depends. The rule as it stands is half your age plus 7. "The half-your-age-plus-seven rule is a mathematical guide to judge whether the age difference in an intimate relationship is socially acceptable. Mathematically speaking, the rule is (Minimum Age) = (Age of the Older Individual) / 2 + 7." As for the thread topic. Will and Grace, That Vice Show on Spike, and Anime. Sex and the City from time to time as well. |

House Hunters!
I also really like the Investigation Discovery shows (Deranged, Life of a Crime, 48 hours, etc) |

Re: Guilty pleasures: TV shows
I watched the Sex and the City movie with my girlfriend last night. Every minute of it. Ugh.
I had to take my lumps- she patiently let me flip back and forth between golf and the NCAA tourney for 5 straight hours yesterday. |
Re: Guilty pleasures: TV shows
Sponge Bob Square Pants I have a 2 year old and have to admitt I enjoy watching that show. 2 1/2 Men is one I don't miss and the Food Network is alway on.

We have an 18 month old and a 3 month old, so I've seen more than enough SpongeBob to call it a lifetime. My wife and I actually enjoy Phineas and Ferb. |

You know its bad when you start watching repeats. Is P&F the one where they sleep in the whales mouth. That show is pretty warped. |

I don't recall that one. P&F is the one with the stepbrothers doing something new every day during summer vacation, with the sister always trying to bust them. |

What? Those aren't' guilty pleasures those are normal show that appeal to pretty much everyone that doesn't live in a monastery or compound. It has to be something that you wouldn't admit, at least openly, outside an internet forum. |
Re: Guilty pleasures: TV shows
Speaking of kids shows, I really love The Wiggles. My daughter loves them (she's 2). I know the words to every song, I know some of the dance moves (because I perform them for her), I know the names of the back-up dancers, and I don't at all mind putting their CD in the car to listen during long car rides.
I mean come on, everyone has to admit this is entertaining on some level: [yt]bEQshqLxTss[/yt] |
