Re: LOST (Warning: Possible Spoilers)
The ABC site says all new this week...maybe they've decided to air #8 and will go on their one month break after this week? I dunno...
EDIT: IMDB lists Thursday's episode as the last new one until April 24th, so a month hiatus until we get the last 5. I think the writers said there was a good cliff hanger after the 8th episode (This week's), so I guess they decided to go with the original plan and come back after #8. |
Re: LOST (Warning: Possible Spoilers)
After Thursday's episode the show will take a hiatus until April 24 when it will return with 5 new shows. Note the new time beginning April 24; 10pm.
|
Re: LOST (Warning: Possible Spoilers)
BOO on 10pm starts. Which means my wife I and won't start watching until 20 after or so (damn commercials), so it'll be after 11 before getting to bed. Damn, I'm getting old...

It was written as the season finale so it oughta be a freakin' ride and a half. I am stoked we get 5 extra post finale episodes. I think we'd have ended up in basically the same spot as we are going to after this week in a full 16 ep season so the extra 5 gives them some time to flesh some stuff they may not have in the first place Plus it gave us the best run of shows sicne season one. |
Re: LOST (Warning: Possible Spoilers)
If this season is only 13 weeks, are they adding the 3 weeks onto one of the last two seasons? I recall they signed a 48-episode deal last year, but I haven't heard if the strike changed that.
|
Re: LOST (Warning: Possible Spoilers)
Nope, from what I understand, they are putting 8 episodes worth of content into these last 5 episodes. So after this season, it'll be 16 next year and a full last season...
|
Re: LOST (Warning: Possible Spoilers)
OK, thanks. One note - the final season is supposed to be 16 episodes, not a full season.
|
Re: LOST (Warning: Possible Spoilers)
yeah they took what was supposed to be two seasons and broke it into three with 16 eps a season. none of the final three are a traditional full season of 23 episodes.
|
Re: LOST (Warning: Possible Spoilers)
I thought I had read 2 16 episode seasons and a 23 episode season, but it looks like I am very well mistaken...

speaking of lost, remember that commercial before the mnf game between the skins and cowboys that had that guy who wore the portis jersey in transformers bugging riggins and dorsett before they got on the plane, then they got on the plane and it was the lost cast, great commercial

Yeah that's what I'm saying. I mean obviously people died on the island itself, and Ben keeps saying saying if you leave the island you will die. But now we hear you can't???? I guess it means Jin didn't die back on the mainland. Or does it? Who knows what the hell is going on |
Re: LOST (Warning: Possible Spoilers)
Those are the cliffhangers? You have to be kidding me.
Michael, a character we haven't seen in 2 years and whom most people don't like, may or may not die at the hands of the freighter captain. Or Alex is flailing around in the jungle while there are snipers with silencers shooting at her. That episode just flat-out sucked. I'm expecting a lot better of Lost starting April 24. BTW, Gay Tom didn't say the island doesn't let anyone die ever - he said the island won't let Michael die right now, because Michael has work to do. |

Good point |
Re: LOST (Warning: Possible Spoilers)
It was a decent episode, but I was disappointed in the the fact that the person who died was Karl...after the hype that they gave us.
I'm not sure what to garner from Ben/Widmore. The story is at least the same, but it's kinda hard to tell which is telling the truth. I'm leaning towards Ben being behind the masquerade for the simple fact that he doesn't want anyone from the camp to go to the Temple because it's not for them. |

I agree - I hate it when they do that. However, I think the person they were referring to was Rousseau, not Karl. At least she's been around since the first season.
I'm not sure what to garner from Ben/Widmore. The story is at least the same, but it's kinda hard to tell which is telling the truth. I think he's been trying to take Alex and Karl out for betraying him.
It was a decent episode
Not being antagonistic - just curious what made you think it was OK. Did that episode do anything to move any of the plotlines forward? I thought it was 99-100% filler (the only exception being that we now know the island can influence events off the island). |
Re: LOST (Warning: Possible Spoilers)
No matter what has happened, Ben has always been protective of Alex...I don't think he's trying to off her, but perhaps show her he can get to those closest to her by offing Karl and Rousseau...however, I'm not convinced Rousseau is dead. And I'm also not convinced that it's Ben or his people doing the shooting...Lapidus and the helicopter has been gone for a while...
What made it ok for me was catching us up on Michael and what happened to him between leaving on the boat, and getting on the freighter, and why the freighter has been sitting where it is for so long. I do however think the hallucinations with Libby were a bit far fetched, but it gave insight as to the timeframe of the flashback. The one thing that should become clear down the line is how those deemed worthy are able to leave the island as they wish, and why they continue to live in the island. |
Re: LOST (Warning: Possible Spoilers)
Oh boy! Another hour added to this season...
14th Hour of Lost Confirmed With 2 Hour Season Finale! - Sledgeweb's LOST ... STUFF
Auseillo has confirmed that Lost will get its 14th hour this season. "We are very excited and grateful to [ABC president] Steve McPherson for working out the scheduling difficulties to allow us to make the second part of our finale two hours," says exec producer Carlton Cuse. "Damon and I were working on the script and we just couldn't get it all done in one hour without shortchanging the story. Now the finale will have all the sweep and emotional completeness we wanted it to have." You read it correctly! We are now going to have a two hour season finale. There is one catch, we will have to wait two weeks from the May 15th episode. to the May 29th two hour finale. ABC's agreement with Lost created some scheduling conflicts. May 22nd was suppose to be the night of finales. Lost's season finale had to move to a different night, which left ABC with a free hour at 9pm. To fill this void, Grey's Anatomy will know also get an extra hour and a two hour season finale. Lost finale will be three hours total. It will start with one hour on May 15th and conclude with the two hour fianle on May 29th. Here is how the new schedule will run. May 15 8 pm: Ugly Betty 9 pm: Grey's Anatomy 10 pm: Lost (part 1 finale) May 22 8 pm: Ugly Betty finale 9-11 pm: Two-hour Grey's Anatomy finale May 29 8 pm: Lost encore (part 1 finale) 9-11 pm: Two-hour Lost finale
|

Re: LOST (Warning: Possible Spoilers)
"Changed the rules" I wonder what that means exactly
And Nadia was killed in/near Los Angeles? Is she the one in the coffin? |
Re: LOST (Warning: Possible Spoilers)
That was excellent.
The whole "you know we can't kill each other" thing was interesting, too. |

Re: LOST (Warning: Possible Spoilers)
Yeah, now that I think about it it was a man who hung himself. John Latham or some name like that

Re: LOST (Warning: Possible Spoilers)
after watching last night's episode I feel the need to reiterate something that has been true the whole time... Evageline Lilly is HOTTTT!!!!!
You know Rose had a point. No one has ever gotten sick on the island. Who thinks its sabatoge of some kind by the newcomers? I do not like the redhead chick. She is trouble. Bet she did something to Jack and I also predict that Juliet will come out and say the apendix was fine. One more prediction... we know Claire will not be saved, (unless Hurley is telling the truth and everyone is dead but thats another prediction altogether) so I think she never comes back. It would be too sad to kill her off. Disapearing into the nothingness with her longlost father would seem appropriate. |

Re: LOST (Warning: Possible Spoilers)
Okay, I just had some thoughts that I needed to write out before I forget them...
In Locke's dream conversation with the mathematician from the Dharma Initiative the guy said that he'd been dead for 12 years (I'm pretty sure he said 12). But Rousseau and her crew crashed on the island at least sixteen years prior to the 815 crash and there was never any indication that she or her team ever came across any DI people. Did Ben's group really kidnap Alex while they were off living in the jungle, before they took over the island? |
Re: LOST (Warning: Possible Spoilers)
Did no one else watch last night?!?!?! Damn you people!
I just had another thought, but I don't know if it's worth much: way back in season 1 Locke said to Jack that he believed that they were all brought to the island for some mystical reason, and that he believed so because "you're [Jack] a man of science and I [Locke] am a man of faith." But we learned last night that when Locke was a teenager he seemed like he was supposed to end up as a man of science, but he was too afraid to accept that because he didn't want to be seen as an outcast. Then later, after his father showed him a quicker alternative to the elevator, Locke claimed that he didn't believe in miracles, even though he probably shouldn't have survived his infancy let alone his fall. I was afraid that there wasn't much left for Locke in terms of a backstory, but it looks like there might be after all. How did he go from being depressed and disgusted by the idea of a man in a wheel chair going on a walkabout to deciding that he could do anything if he put his mind to it? |

Did you see how melow she was in the cabin sitting next to her DEAD father? And seriously, even if Miles was a "POW" why wouldnt he say anything about a girl with a baby wondering off into the jungle? Yeah she died in that cabin. Good perception!! The thing that hits me a little weird is that they have to "move the island." How is that going to work? |

To be honest, the "Claire's a ghost" idea is not mine at all. I actually read it in a recap on ew.com. That place is a great resource for Lost theories and ideas. |
