Re: Which Current NFL Receiver Is Best for Us?
Looks like we got another potential Reciever. Either way I still say that Hacket is the guy that gets the nod. Besides we can sign Roy Williams next year.
stallworth would definitely be worth signing. him moss and el would give us great speed and two good options. of course, getting them both on the field at the same time maybe be kinda hard (*cough* tin can *cough*), but at least 1 could always be available.
Donte might be heading to Dallas |
Re: Which Current NFL Receiver Is Best for Us?
Javon Walker might be an option. I know he is kinda injury prone but Denver and Washington have been trade partners in the past so I wouldnt be suprised if they did it again.

Looks as if it's between chad johnson or javon walker being a redskin next year. I feel that both would be good, however chad johnson would definately be the better option. What do ya'll think? |

CJ is clearly the better player but Javon Walker has been injured alot over the last 2 seasons. |
Re: Which Current NFL Receiver Is Best for Us?
Hackett would probably be the best fit, but Roy Williams is very tempting. I don't know why everybody is getting worked up about Chad Johnson, there is zero chance cinci is going to trade him.
|
Re: Which Current NFL Receiver Is Best for Us?
Draft someone tall in later rounds with good character, and hard work ethic. Build him up from zero, on the cheap. If he doesnt work out, try again next year. Meanwhile, make sure you can't get some production for your investment with Brandon Lloyd. Don't draft anyone high. If we need a free agent wideout, he better be dirt cheap.

Re: Which Current NFL Receiver Is Best for Us?
Walker bitched and moaned his way out of Green Bay and is now doing the same in Denver. For those that think that Lloyd was a locker room distraction, how can Walker be an upgrade? IMO, if Favre can't stand playing with you how could you expect JC?

Walker is a better locker room distraction but his rap skills were only a 52 on Madden. Hell Ethan Albright was rated higher. |

Those are good points |
Re: Which Current NFL Receiver Is Best for Us?
This is my first post, so here goes. Hackett is clearly the choice, he's big, fast enough to have made Springs his playtoy in the playoffs and he'll come cheap. We don't have much room under the cap and he already knows the offense. If the guy can stay healthy he'll help for sure. This move would allow us to draft DL and CB/OL and get a WR in the 3rd round?

What's the world on Hackett's durability? I heard he has had injury problems in the past. Also, can people keep any Free Agent WRs postings to this thread? Thanks. |
Re: Which Current NFL Receiver Is Best for Us?
for the money.... = Ernest Wilford..
For the play ... = Chad johnson Who'd I really like to have that would be inbetween that money and greatness = Roy Williams I honestly dont see us getting CHad or Roy.. So i think we really should consider Ernest Wilford.. I am warming up to hackett too, but I dont see why you cant sign both Hackett and Wilford... |

Well the player that I suggested initially seems to be going to the Vikes. What is it with Berrian, playing for teams that have mediocre QBs?? |

Well, another season of Belichick running up the score. Moss: Coach, I want to test the free agent market.... Darth Hoody (waving hand): You do not need to test the market Moss (glazed look): I do not need to test the market.. Darth Hoody: You will take a paycut to stay with the Patriots Moss: I will take a paycut to stay with the Patriots |

I think Walker might be a Buc. Bryant Johnson might be a Bear.

Re: Which Current NFL Receiver Is Best for Us?
Whats the deal...I though the skins would go for a WR on day one....so far nothing and no meetings set up...I thought they would go after Hackett hard

The good news is I haven't heard anything about Hacket so the guy might still be available next Friday. However I think that Synder and friends might be crazy enough to take Devin Thomas in the first round as predicted in the latest Todd McShay mock draft. Also if they don't sign Hacket look for them to make a run at Gaffney, who allegdedly has a similar skillset to Hacket. |
Re: Which Current NFL Receiver Is Best for Us?
Isn't Gaffney pretty old?

Judging by his birthday he's about 28 years old. |

LOL. My bad, I didn't look up his info, but he was playing for the Patriots, and since everyone there is in their 40s, I just assumed. |
Re: Which Current NFL Receiver Is Best for Us?
Bucs may look to replace Walker with Hackett

The Pats are currently working on a deal to keep Gaffney. |
Re: Which Current NFL Receiver Is Best for Us?
I think there might be a receiver out there that we're not thinking about
|
Re: Which Current NFL Receiver Is Best for Us?
The more I think about it...it looks like the skins are waiting out the Bucs and take the leftovers so they can drive down the price by waiting out 2nd tier 2nd Wrs.
Either that or they decided to take a WR in round 1 or 2 leaving open the possiblity of a #1 WR trade on draft day |
Re: Which Current NFL Receiver Is Best for Us?
I think there might be a receiver out there that we're not thinking about
Yeah...like someone already on the team |

Or a trade still might be in the works
|
Or a trade still might be in the works
right now were playing "the waiting game", all the big deals go down early, and soon players see all the money bieng thrown around, and become over willing to just sign. The longer we wait, the cheaper we can aquire players. The redskins will sign someone before the draft, but it just might not be as soon as we are used to. |
Re: Which Current NFL Receiver Is Best for Us?
Yeah...like someone already on the team
Well, I do hope they keep Reche Caldwell. Wouldn't be mad if they drafted his brother as well |
Re: Which Current NFL Receiver Is Best for Us?
Adam schefter was on NFL network saying that Randy Moss isn't close to a deal with the PATS. If i was Snyder i would throw the bank at him because if he doesn't do it Jerry Jones will. We do not want that to happen. Moss could entertain teams and then sign with the Pats to make his image as well. IMO i think we should pursue him hard, redo contracts, and still draft a WR in the 1st. Thoughts?
|
Re: Which Current NFL Receiver Is Best for Us?
There is no way that T.O. and Randy Moss play on the same team.

You think we should redo contracts to make room for Randy Moss and his HUGE contract, and then also spend our first round pick on another WR? |

So would Santana Moss, Randy Moss, ARE, or the 1st rounder become our 4th receiver? Do you also see us keeping Cooley if we have that many starting caliber wideouts? It would be massive overkill IMO. |
Re: Which Current NFL Receiver Is Best for Us?
That would almost be like the lions except they don't have a awesome TE. Screw R. Moss, I want the two we can't have Williams or Johnson. I really hope we can work something out for Williams, that would be the shat!

For those that were thinking Isaac Bruce we can cross him off as well. He's going to Frisco
