monster signings for guys switching teams tend to be flames out (champ, arch, lloyd, kearse, berry, etc etc etc).
we'll see though.
Not entirely true... Reggie White Eagles to packers turned out pretty well for the Pack |
Re: 2009 Free Agent Signings
TJ Whowsyourmama also mentioned Seattle, so hopefully he goes there.

Hey what about that 44 guy. He's been sayin all along Hall would get paid. I'll just give myself props. Good call 44. Thanks.:pimp: |

But like someone else said it's probably Brown or Dock not both, especially if we sign everyone's new sweetheart Canty ;) ... very tough call IMO. Brown will cost more, maybe much more, but is also more versatile. Dock knows our guys, our coach and of course we know him. |

I hear that 44 guy is humble too. LOL. Other news on free agency - Denver interested in Arrington and Buckhalter (not signed, my bad) - Bucs interested in Vilma - Jason Brown and Bart Scott to visit the Rams - Foxworth being pursued by a number of teams - Fred Taylor to Pats possibly - Haynesworth is going to be a rich sumbitch come morning |

I hear you, Reggie's deal if I remember correctly was a huge contract. He's a game changer one of the best ever. AH is a game changer too |

of course, cut loser, tim hasselback says paying hall was worst move so far.

Oh please Tim probably thinks he still has a chance to make it as an NFL qb |

Phone ringing off the hook! Money calling!!
Looks like we may dodge the Haynesworth bullet. Phew |
Re: 2009 Free Agent Signings
who cares about timmy h...and it's like the only signing so far so of course it will get mentioned. Hall will not be the only overpaid player when its all said and done.

Re: 2009 Free Agent Signings
LOL
from the above link: "This is a club that desperately needs to improve its pass rush (28th in the league in sacks). Canty is a versatile guy who can move inside in the nickel and do a nice job. He's also decent against the run. But he's another guy who might have six or seven sacks a game at the most." I'm pretty sure he meant tackles... I hope lol |

You mean the Dallas sports writer Matt Moseley? Yeah, he's not biased
The Redskins already have players like Canty. Andre Carter is a similar player who can stand up and block some passes from the line of scrimmage. The Redskins need players who will scare quarterbacks. Canty's not one of those guys.
Andre Carter is 253 lbs, Canty is 302ish lbs, how is that similar? Canty is good against the run, Carter isn't. Other than the money issue, I really don't get Moseley. |

:laughing2 That article says, "But he's another guy who may have 6 or 7 sacks a game at the most". I'll take 6 or 7 sacks a game anytime! Especially against the Cowgirls! |
Re: 2009 Free Agent Signings
they signed Robin williams!! to play free saftey/fullback!!! 56 yr/$9.7billion dollar deal. another goood desicion by us. yay robin williams
Hey bro, w/ Rogers and Hall we don't have to worry about TJ in Philly or NY, especially if NY doesn't resign Ward and Philly doesn't get a great RB to complement Westbrook. I see the NFC East much more evenly matched than last couple of years.
hall isn't as good as springs, who he's (I assume) replacing. we'll see though. |

I think he meant tackles, although that's a big mistake. Yeah, we want to not pursue a guy that can put up 6 sacks a game. LOL. Heck, I'll take 6 to 7 tackles a game too, and I think Canty can be successful with our team, Moseley is just being his old biased self. |
Re: 2009 Free Agent Signings
Not entirely true...
Reggie White Eagles to packers turned out pretty well for the Pack
that's one (great) example, but most of the time that's just not how it works. QBs and monster deals with guys your team already has are a completely different deal too, since you tend to have a much better idea of what you're getting. |

He might have meant 6 or 7 sacks a season, which still inst too bad. |

how many DEs can get 96-112 tackles a year? that'd be a great reason to pay him top dollar, not shy away. it's probably sacks per season, but he'd be the big guy to take space for JT and carter or whatnot - which definitely IS NOT a sack heavy position. |

Re: 2009 Free Agent Signings
Hey 53 should I jump over to the Giants forum and start a thread to let Giantone and the gang know that we signed Hall:) Now the stupidity of what he did with that Jacobs thread seems even more clear.

Hall may not be as good as Springs but at least Hall puts in full seasons, which is more than what Springs can say over the last few years.... |

On top of that Hall's a lock to get us a few turnovers. I'll go on record right now and predict four or five Int's for Hall should he play 14 games next year. |

Definitely! It's news and it has to do with the NFC East. |
