Re: Please Draft ??? at #13
Speaking of crazy. Anyone see Tony Boselli on NFL Network last night. Guy has lost practically all of his playing weight. Reminds me a lot of Mark May.

Re: Please Draft ??? at #13
If sanchez is still there it is worth a shot but id be just as happy taking the best DE avaliable to fill in the hole made by cutting jason taylor.

Re: Please Draft ??? at #13
I would be very pissed if we took Sanchez, but I think Seattle will thankfully take him before we do.

Re: Please Draft ??? at #13
No no no. You guys are all wrong. The little Danny is so small, if you blink you'll miss him. All these years of working with Snyder, Vinny had to have his eyelids surgically removed in order to be able to see his boss coming.

That's what I was thinking. I could understand one picture like that, but not every single one. Homeboy is jacked on something. I drink a small three cup pot of coffee in the morning and I'm not that bad? He's got the look of a man that just found out he's baby's daddy in every picture I see of him. |
It occurred to me this morning, (probably way after everyone else), that the whole intent of the Cutler, and even moreso Sanchez, bluffs is to force Denver to use its early pick on Sanchez. This makes alot of sense to me, because clearly Denver picking right before us, and needing DE's, we want to impact their thinking and strategy as much as possible. Certainly, if Denver wants Sanchez, they would now believe that they have to get him no later than at their 12 spot.
Well that was my morning revelation. Wishful thinking sure leads to creative theories!
I don't think this is just wishful thinking at all. I think you have successfully fingered the truth. I think it's all a frickin' ruse and it is working. I would add that this ruse also affects a possible trade-down with teams like the qb hungry Jets if Denver doesn't take the bait and Sanchez is there at 13. I rarely use this word to describe our FO but I think this ploy is brilliant. |

Bro your optimism is admirable...and somewhat infectious. Like i said before if we somehow get a couple of legit guys for LB, OT or maybe DE from this draft you will all get so sick of me heaping luvy dovy praise on the FO. |
I want the fat kid from Alabama. Is that Smith? I know he's got some issues but he could probably step in and start at RT and we've got some vets to take him under their wing. I'm not sure why everyone is so high on Orakpo. I didn't see a ton of Texas games but the ones I did he didn't impress me at all.
AND ANYONE BUT SANCHEZ. He's not even better than party boy Leinart and he couldn't beat out John David Booty who can't beat out Tavarus Jackson.
I also think if we go O-Line I like Andre Smith at RT. He is a beast in run blocking, not sure about pass protection. Not worried about his combine stunt he will learn from our vets. 2nd choice I like Rey Maualuga size and his play making ability. I know his combine numbers don't wow you but he makes plays on the field where it counts. 3rd Orakpo he can rush the passer , may take him some time to learn how to drop back into coverage as a LB. |

All I can tell all of you, is that on Saturday, there is only one thing for sure, we will have a seventh round draft choice, because we cant trade it.
The whole situation just doesn't add up. This is just one more fact in a line of them that draw no clear path.

All reports use the word "smitten" to describe Snyder's attitude towards Sanchez. It's been many decades since anyone has used that term, and yet, multiple outlets use it within a day or so? Sounds like a direct leak.
We don't have a plethora of cap room, but we're supposedly trying to get in the top 5, where the rookie pool might end up exceeding our cap room.
Jay Cutler. We chased him hard because we thought he was the missing piece. We didn't get him, and now it's Sanchez? Really?
Cerrato pulled an eleventh hour trade down last year, and now were considering going up?
No one in the Redskins organization has ever tried to squash these rumors at all. All Snyder has done is thrown gasoline on the fire. He might just be this short-sighted, or he might be wise enough to leverage his position. Prior evidence suggests he's probably just shortsighted.
We've avoided adding pretty much any help in free agency after the Dockery signing, despite unexpectedly cutting Jason Taylor since then.
We're frank enough to tell Sanchez where he stands with us, but we're okay going "behind" Campbell's back (I say "behind" because if it is a smokescreen, Campbell's in on it).
Brian Orakpo might be a simultaneous smokescreen, or a last ditch attempt to divert attention from Sanchez.
We can't even outbid other teams who need Sanchez' services far more than we do.
I don't know guys. This situation reeks of botched management. My best guess: the Skins were prepared to trade the farm for Sanchez, then got a grip and backed off, and are now using it as an elaborate smokescreen. An accidental smokescreen that looks perfectly executed because at one point, it was in fact plan A. I'm thinking the allure of Mark Sanchez might have actually worn off before draft day. Who knows, if the draft was ten days ago, I think he's wearing B & G, and we're not picking in the first round next year.
WoW thats some real heavy thinking you did to come up with that. Sounds about right from Redskins Front Office. We did give Dolphins a 2nd rd pick for J. Taylor ? We did release him after 1 season right? We did give the 49ers a 3rd pick for Brandon Lloyd and signed him to a new contract Right? We did bench Lloyd during the season and then gave him to the bears for a low pick. We also did the same thing with Archuletta Right? This is beginning to be common practice for us to waste money on bad free agents and give away draft picks. |

Re: Please Draft ??? at #13
The Passing Game has elevated to another level therfore in order to defend against it you need a solid defensive line and in order to have it you need a solid offensive line. It's all about the trenches we took care of the defense time to address the offense.

Anyone but Sanchez is a solid pick.

We've spent all of this time on the draft. Now Synder is going to make all of this time, plus the time of the coaches, staff, and scouts worthless.

You are correct! While all of the folks who didn't vote for Orakpo can still gripe, the many who voted for him should tone down their criticisms of the FO for now. The FO got them their boy. |

Well it wasn't a smoke screen it was the Jets giving up much more than we were willing to part with. I guess the Jason Taylor 2nd rd pick may have saved us. VC said they tried to move up. We got saved by the Jets and also thank you AL Davis for your pick, which allowed the 49ers to pick a offensive player. This allowed Orakpo to fall to us. |

The FO is on the record as saying that they inquired about moving up for Sanchez. Just about every other team did this as well as part of due diligence so it wasn't a big deal. The FO also said that they really had their hearts set on Orakpo all along. So, yes, the Sanchez stuff was a smokescreen. |
