Another driving rant...

Heading to Wawa to grab a quick lunch, and some woman driving her soccer-mom grocery-getter, starts floating into my lane because she was too fucking busy texting on her enV with 2 hands...and from looks of things she wasn't using her knees or elbows to hold the damn steering wheel. It was only after I bailed into the right turn lane for the Wawa did she realize what she was doing and correct herself. That's a case of where I wish we all had bumper car style bumpers on our vehicles, so I could have sent her flying into a frickin' tailspin!
A woman did that to me while I was driving home from a Terps game last year. She was coming in my lane so I had to drift to the left to avoid her, only I hit a high curb and blew out my front tire. The dumb bitch never realized she did it so she just kept on driving and yakking away on her cell phone. Luckily I had a full sized spare because that was almost a year ago and I'm just now getting the spare replaced.

I drove on my spare for about 6 months and screwed up my alignment so bad it cost me an extra 300 for some new longer bolts that did something. They told me the alignment was so bad that I had run out of the factory adjustment tolerance. I am not exactly car savvy so they could have been lying to me. It was a full size spare too. The wear pattern was so bad that I had metal showing on the inside sidewall.

I'm getting a bunch of work done, including getting my heat fixed which hasn't worked for over a year (that 45 minute drive to work in the winter was a real bitch), but my dad just built the shop owner's son's house so they're giving me a good deal on the work. I was going to have all 4 tires replaced but they were cool enough to tell me that the back ones are fine and that I only really need 2 new ones. Luckily the shop realizes that my dad and I have a big family in the area and that good customer service will go a long way.

I'm pissed.

I go to school full-time and work part time and I depend on my 16 hours a week to pay my bills (I live with my parents, so I don't have many bills). Well after the labor day holiday, they cut my hours down to 12 a week. Okay... Not great but I can live off of that. Now as of next week I'm down to 6 hours a week. 6. Wtf? I might as well live off the government, at least I can bleed them for more money than some measly $50 a week after taxes.

Fuck you Petsmart.

My first question was gonna be I assume you work in retail, until you said f you Petsmart. I worked at a couple retail stores for a bit and it was maddening working with uncertainty towards my hours. I mean I was getting mad hours during the holiday season, (at Toys R Us I was getting 2-4 hours of overtime depending on how late I stayed, for a couple weeks I was averaging 50 hours (right after Thanksgiving, naturally) and then as soon as January came they told me they were going to keep me but hours would go down slightly.

Well I quit that job about a month later after I realized my 6 hours a week weren't going to get any better (for the entire month they only made me work 4 am to 10 am on a Sat., and all my coworkers hours were exactly the same). I started planning to quit after they told me hours usually pick up around April-June, f if I was gonna wait a few months on my meager salary to stay at the joint after busting ass during the holiday season.

Basically I'd say your better off getting a part time job at some place where hours don't vary based on what their sales are. I'm in the restaurant equipment biz right now and even though my job ain't the safest, it's easier knowing regardless of how busy we get I'll still be working 7:30 to 4 Mon-Fri, and still have the opportunity for overtime if my boss lets me come in early.

What is your guys' take on this?

Is it ok to pull up to a busy gas station, fill up, pay at the pump, then leave your car at the pump while you go inside and shop around. Meanwhile there is plenty of parking spots available. I dunno, I just get kinda irked when I see people doing this.

If it is busy then no. If it isn't then I don't move my car.

I am absolutely sick to my stomach after the loss to Detroit. It is enough to lose and then live and work near Giants Stadium and have people ask me what the hell is wrong with this team? They know like I know that this team has alot of potential and has not played up to the level it is capable of. If we lose another game to a below 500 team I will not watch another game this year until a new coach is named.

Today a co-worker and I are putting in an AC unit. My boss comes in,,,sits at his desk for a minute or two...and while were furiously banging away at the damn window with hammers and wood blocks trying to get it open he asks "what are you doing?". What they f*cking hell does it look like you donkey?

I hate when people do that! Also get a damn check card or credit card no need to run and pay cash.

I have a friend who commutes 70 miles a day round trip and he still just puts $20 in his car at every fill up, dude just fill the damn car up! You are wasting more gas driving around trying to find a station every other day. Not to mention burning out your gas pump and sending tons of sediment into your engine.

If it's not busy, I leave the car at the pump. If it's busy, then I'll move the car to go inside. Normally, I go in while the gas is pumping...which I guess is a no-no, but oh well...2 birds, 1 stone.

You know what. I'm tired of relationships. I just got out of a 7 month one that was pretty serious and moved extremely fast (lets just say we were talking about the future and what not.) They broke up with me and then in less than 2 weeks was sleeping with someone else and then by week 3 was an official couple.

What pisses me off even more is that over the past 3-4 days, we've flirted, talked about old times and spent a little time together, they even admitted they still have some feelings for me and then told me that they have no intentions of leaving the chick they're with now but still has hopes for us in the future if things don't work out with her.

WTF? I feel even more stupid because I'm still so in love that I'm waiting for this idiot. Sigh.

Best advice I ever got was from my mom. After a break-up, wait at least a year before you even talk to them, or see them again.

I dated a chick for 4 years, we broke up... and I kept trying to see if she was ok, hang out, keep our friendship going. I finally took a long break, and it worked out great. We're still friends now and everything has worked out for the better.

Second best advice. Buy one of these so your not that girl/guy. You know... the "hey...i know it's 2:34am, but like... I ...i mmiss us, ya know? I don knoow... yeah i'll take 3 tequito's please.. anny wass... i miss you. take care. bye" kinda person.

lol its just 1 guy. But, he was like, "It wasn't meant to work out right now, but it might in the future." And about a week after breaking up, he was throwing the, "We can be friends" at me, like it was some sort of consolation prize.

I dunno. I really thought I got it right this time with him everything about his was perfect (except the leaving me for someone else part) and it's been about a month, but a part of me still isn't ready to give up. I JUST started getting back into the field of dating. As bitchy as it sounds, I'm hoping that their relationship falls apart.

The friends thing after the fact rarely ever works out, especially in the long run. People do it because they're afraid to completely let go, but in the end it's the best thing to move on as quickly as possible.

You need to just move on not worry about his life or relationship anymore. I know thats easy for me to say but thats the only way you can be happy. Also go out on a date where he hangs out and that will help allot.:food-smil

Re: The Rant Thread

1) Give up on being friends with him for 1 year.

2) Distract yourself. Go out with friends, go to football games, hockey games...etc. It's really hard on yourself to just sit around and dwell on stuff. Just get out there and live your life. It's too short to waste on some douche... Find someone who's worth it, but most importantly start with yourself.
