Man, they are all ripping Snyder. They're saying Gruden may take the job because he already worked for Al Davis. They're saying the Skins will never work with Snyder as the owner. Tom Friend recommended hiring Bruce Allen. Interesting...
I saw that. How the FO can think so little of an o-lines contribution to wins is beyond me. Especially an organization that won Super Bowls behind The Hogs with 3 different QB's, and in one case, a flash in the pan RB who set a SB rushing record. |

Interesting...
I dunno about that for this reason: if you look at the Giants line, you'll see a bunch of low-round picks and undrafted free agents, not first-rounders. That is, the Giants line is the way that it is because of COACHING. So, if you transplanted the Giants line here, they would no longer play like the Giants line. They'd play like the Redskins line. |

Did they say what they'd be talking to him about? I mean obviously they wouldn't mention any possibilities and I'm not sure if he's a frequent guest, just curious. |
Re: Looking ahead, it's only going to get worse
After KC.... it gets ugly.
Sad part is before the season started i made a bet with the Saint fans i work with. If the Skins lose i have to wear a Saint hat and do a little dance through the building during lunch with a Saint Umbrella while saying "Who dat say they gonna beat dem Saints". looks like i better start looking deep into my dance repertoire. D@mn!!!!!!!!!!! |
Re: Looking ahead, it's only going to get worse
With the guard and tackle problems we have can see the skins going 6-10.
|
Re: Looking ahead, it's only going to get worse
Well, on a positive note if we do go 4-12 or so we will be lined up to get a top OT in the draft.
|

I think i missed mike and mike, what did Gruden say?

Re: Looking ahead, it's only going to get worse
You guys were complaining about our team..let me tell you going to school and working in Northern California well california period has opened my eyes. It really isnt that bad, we only lost to the Giants by 7 points.....Raiders Fans are asking me why I'm complaining saying at least your team has a defense and did you hear Pierce on ESPN radio yesterday?
"It was like playing a scrimmage" |

"It was like playing a scrimmage"
Thank you for that. Despite the miseries in Redskins-land, it could be worse. |

Your welcome, Seriously most the guys in my fraternity and at school are either Niners fans or Oakland fans and yeah put it like this the guys still mess with me about my team...the raiders are so bad we don't wanna make jokes about the team around the guys. edit: Its not like the Raiders lack talent either, Russel is dumb as rocks the line gives him all kinds of time makes you wonder if he can read the playbook. |
Re: Looking ahead, it's only going to get worse
The Redskins signed an offensive lineman today but I forgot his name. Why don't we resign Pete Kendall? They released Marcus Mason and Aldrige. (Where is Marko?)

Re: Looking ahead, it's only going to get worse
It's going to keep getting worse as long as fans keep thinking short-term.
This year is gone. Mediocrity has been the norm in the Snyder era. We all know why. Snyder's meddling is the problem. There may be an occasional playoff appearance somewhere down the road, but no sustained success. |

Yes, I assume he has to approve them, but I believe Cerrato does the bulk of the damage. |
Re: Looking ahead, it's only going to get worse
With speculation about Zorn being released during the bye week, what would happen if we somehow, miraculously manage to thrash the Eagles? (Don't get me wrong, I think that is highly unlikely.) But assume that Snyder is thinking of canning Zorn during the bye. What does he do under these circumstances?

You can't base Zorn's job off of just one thrashing... I feel you would have to look the job he has done for the team as a whole throughout his time working with the skins... He hasn't really accomplished anything up to a head coach's standards... matter of fact he hasn't even come close to having a successful year. He still needs to go i think |

Wow, nice first post from a lost Patriots fan. :D Agreed, even if we beat Philly, it will show we can win when Zorn's NOT calling the plays. Win or lose, he should go this week. |
Re: Looking ahead, it's only going to get worse
Listen, it's time we did a reality check. I want to win, especially against our division. The truth is that this is going to get worst IMO. I'm no football guru, but it goesn't take one to see that we're going to get skunked with bingo man calling plays.
On the bright side if Soup just says eff it and calls audibles, then we might stand a chance. I don't see why he wouldn't? He's basically auditioning for another team and only one play away from being benched. What are they going to do to him that they haven't already? What does he have to lose? They say Zorn and Soup are tied together. I don't believe that. Soup still has his balls in my opinion, ability, eh . . . . I don't know. |

Now that Lewis is calling plays, does that give JC more freedom to call audibles and plays. I have to say some of his best plays have come when he has called a play because the sideline play didn't come in right. |

Unfortunately, people tend to forget things when you start winning. One could argue that the offensive problems of the Redskins started when Gibbs 2.0 was in charge, but because he was in charge and they were winning a bit more than now, they went somewhat ignored. |

Campbell is in no way shape or form comparable to Peyton Manning, but I agree. Campbell is decent enough in reading defenses and figuring out what to do when he sees who he has for personnel in the huddle. I think it would work if Lewis called in 3 plays and let Campbell pick 1, like Moore would do with Manning. |

If we win with Lewis, then Zorn's play calling looks bad. If we lose, he's the coach. No matter what, he's screwed. |

From what I've seen, this year and last. Soup is at his best when he's calling audibles in the hurry up. I don't think he's going to mesh well with bingo man. He's had last season and this one with Zorn. This is the only chance I see of him and the team doing anything this year. |
Re: Looking ahead, it's only going to get worse
I was hoping for 3-13, but now I believe the R A I D E R S will beat us ';cuz that game's IN Oakland. So 2-14, worst Skins EVER!

I agree even if Snyder is thinking of firing Zorn during the bye week, as the post says, if we were to be lucky enough to get the win against the Eagles I think Zorn buys more time and hell maybe even the rest of the season!! A couple of consecutive wins and most of the Skins will probably be screaming Zorn for coach of the year!! thats just how things go when you start winning |
Re: Looking ahead, it's only going to get worse
I don't get it, I want this team to suck balls so that we can get a top 5 hopefully 3 pick to see if we can't draft a quarterback, I want Snyder to realize how much he has messed up this team, all this mediocrity somehow sends the message that we are close to being a winning team which gives Snyder the latitude to make the decisions he does.
Only if this team straight up fails horrifically will Snyder finally decide to pull back and put the team in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing. |
Re: Looking ahead, it's only going to get worse
Maybe 2 more wins this year? Oakland, maybe. We might steal one more w/ our defense. 3 more wins tops. So thats 4-12 or 5-11. Most likely a top 5 pick. Who knows though...that's why they play the games.

did not know where to put this. Does anyone think that they are putting Mitchell in the ring of fame, so he will shut up.

If that was the case they would have put him in years ago. |
Re: Looking ahead, it's only going to get worse
I've been looking at college and I wonder, who should we draft first? Since it's apparent that we'll need both which do we take first, a QB or a OT? Which one would you take?
I don't want another QB right now. OT is looking very good in this draft, especially where we'll be drafting at. |
