When did he say he was opposed to it? He just said yesterday he will do whatever the team wants and not be a distraction. |

Anyways...Al is working out hard right now with a personal trainer...so I don't see any issue. He's not skipping any mandatory workouts or meetings.
You'd think Haynesworth is the only player in the whole league not working out with his team.
You know Logan Mankins is sitting at home because he wants a new contract, but most Pats fans aren't that worried because it's March and they know he'll be around when needed. Unfortunately, we Redskins fans have become so enamored with spring football that we seem to forget...that it's March for crying out loud.
i didn't forget it's march cause season ticket dues are due is march 1st, which kinda gives you the urge to bitch if you ask me. as far as fat al is concerned, we just have to wait and see how it pans out. if they use him more at end than nose i would beleive that would make him happier since his main thing is rushing the passer. and i would think this would allow him to have the most sacks in any season so far in his career. but thats just my opinion |
Did he play at a different weight in Tennessee??
Damn bro you bitch more than he does, he hasn't bitched at all about the 3-4 despite what people want to believe.
And you bitch more defending him. Perhaps you're his agent. lol. |
Re: Haynesworth Missing From Redskins Offseason Workouts
Adding Haynesworth took the team from a pathetic 24 sacks in 2008 to 40 team sacks in 2009. He made a huge difference. That sack increase can be attributed solely to Al. Without him, Orakpo would be getting the double teams instead of him and his sacks would not have been there.
As for his durability or the number of plays he's actually on the field...realize he's the only player on our D consistently being double-teamed on every play. He must be to be stopped. He's pushing against 600-700 pounds a play, not 300-350. When he's not on the field, Rak gets the double but that's only when Al is sitting. He adds the dimension to our defense that makes us dangerous...one that leaves the opposing offense with more than one player they wish they could double team, but can't.
I didn't see Haynesworth getting double teamed all the time. Sorry but that's not completly true. In Orakpo's biggest game, which was against Oakland, Hayneswroth wasn't on the field, was he? I'm sure someone can check that out. Explain this....why did the defense perform worse in 2009? We gave up more points, more rushing yards. Yes we got more sacks but so what? The defense...overall didn't play better. Honestly AH had an up and down year. At his salary he's not suppose to have an up and down year. Year two I want to see a complete monster that's in shape and makes the guys around him better. |

Seriously. Didn't he say he'd rather have Wilfork or someone? Wilfork takes plays off too. Sometimes your job is to just occupy bodies as well. Looks like Wilfork played one more game than AH and AH still had over 100 more snaps played |

Looks like Wilfork played one more game than AH and AH still had over 100 more snaps played
I posted this yesterday. Wilfork played 8 percent less of his team's stats than Godzilla. I really wonder if everyone would hate Albert as much if they announced his contract as 4 years for $48. Because that is really what he signed for. I would rather have Godzilla than someone like Peppers. Peppers took half the year off and then played hard down the stretch so he could fleece a new team. |

It isn't hard defending him against your claims. Basically, your strongest point has been that he is fat. No way, really?! A Defensive Tackle that is overweight! We were hoodwinked... |

LaVar Arrington has incooperated enough time in his busy schedule to riddicule Haynesworth in an area's where he has obviously been misinformed. Dan Steinberg's bog has him yet again being critical of a Redskin player where he dosen't know the facts. If you're not going to say something good about a person in that situation, you'd best serve by not saying anything. |

The reactionary nature of blogs/message boards/radio really is annoying at times. People spout off on a whim without even knowing the entire story and before you know it we have these dumb rumors that Haynesworth doesn't want to play nose tackle or that he wants a trade. Meanwhile, there are other players that showed up for day 1 and have since gone their own ways to work out on their own, but where's the uproar about those guys?? |

We were hoodwinked...
No. My points are: 1. the defense got worse when he got here 2. he admitted that he wasn't in shape on the radio yesterday 3. you don't sign a 40 mil $ contract and not act like a pro last year is over and done with. year one w/ AH was not good. i'm over it. let's see how year two is. he's not going to be here for off season stuff. not a huge deal as long as he's ready to go come training camp. |

I predicted that 106.7 would jump all over that. I really find it hard to listen to them a lot. They criticized them before FA because everyone expected a free for all. They were all over them for dumping Rock Cartwright (really? the journeyman runningback who has now lost a step?). Nothing that happens at Redskins park gets any positive press and there is a reason for that. 106.7 is still and always will be pissed that they lost the skins on the radio and that Snyder has a better radio product. Lavar had some points on Portis. His criticism of AH is tired. Lavar was a role player on the only good Redskins team he was on. He has no leg to stand on. AH has been a centerpiece on much better teams. |

Hypothetically in a traditional 3-4 Haynesworth would be playing gap control and literally trying to hold up offensive lineman at the LOS. In his 4-3 role he gets to run up field and try to create havoc in the backfield. Obviously he draws double teams in both situations but in the 4-3 he get's to be a playmaker. In the 3-4 as a gap control NT he's an offensive lineman playing defense. Thats not to say they couldn't put him at nose and allow him to get up field but I think Haynesworth biggest worry is playing gap control. |

Blache was a huge gap control guy and it just doesn't jive w/ what Al does best. I think putting him at RDE in the 3-4 could be really fascinating. At least part of the time he'll see doubles from tackle/TE instead of G/C...that should make him that much more dominant. He's so strong too he can just bull rush the poor bastards back toward the QB from the edge. Basically he can contain and put pressure on the QB simultaneously. If we have solid performance from whoever plays NT and LDE it will be a wicked front. |

typical. God I am really sick of Lavar. Little baby finding every which way to pick a bone with the Skins. This the way I see 106.7's main weekday programs. Junkies: Entertaining and hilarious Wise:Quality programing without bias Lavar and Dukes:Sour idiot rambling and jock holding sidekick Holdin: Who? Seriously Lavar makes Bmitch seems rational and unbias lol. |

Kinda amusing to hear LaVar giving someone advice on how to handle himself with the team/coaches.

However it's not everyday you hear a professional football player who just got 40 mil in his pocket come out and say he really wasn't in shape. So although Lavar is soup grapes he was spot on the other day. Lavar isn't the only person in the media that's commented on AH's conditioning. |

Isn't that a classic athletic line? Unless an athlete is training 16 hours a day, couldn't they always be in better shape? "In shape" is a relative term. When is a 320-360 pound man going to be "in shape"? He was in better shape than Wilfork. |

hey almost 400lbs is a shape...ROUND hahaha.

His fat ass came in here last year out of shape. If anything he should be trying to get all the work he can get. I'm tired of us signing these high profile players that come here and don't earn their money. Out of the all the people on our roster he's the main one that should be attending offseason workouts. |
