Re: Madden 2011
played at lunch, seems good played all madden and got my butt hand to me by the cops. Apparently Flex Jones is the second coming of Barry Sanders.
|
Re: Madden 2011
Why were you playing cops? Were you being questioned down at the station house? Did they catch you sleep streaking again?

WOW! Why did I type cops when I wanted Cowboys?? What a weird Freudian slip. Do I subliminal think the cowboys are the enforces...eeekkk! I need to get my head checked! |
Re: Madden 2011
I heard there's been some lag issues online, anyone run into this? If it's an issue I'd rather wait for it to get straightened out before we fire up a league.
I heard there's been some lag issues online, anyone run into this? If it's an issue I'd rather wait for it to get straightened out before we fire up a league.
My son has gone online on PS3 and said there is definitely a lag issue. He had no complaints on NCAA 11 though.
As usual, I get the "our Internet is messed up"......it's bad when you have to tell a 17 yr. old "if you don't believe me, do a damn Google search on the problem." The joys of raising a teenager.... I haven't gone online yet. I used to (haven't played much on Madden 2009/10) spend the first 2-3 weeks in practice and against the CPU ironing out my team, playbooks, etc. I haven't played online in a couple of years, is it still the same where people quit games when they're losing by more than a score and the games often hang? |
Re: Madden 2011
I think I'm gonna pick up the PS3 version tomorrow, I have heard the PS3 version looks crisper and the frame rate is a little higher on the PS3.

I have heard this fro ma bunch of folks plus it help me hone up my skills if we wait. I do get a little lag not online right before the ball is snapped, it is weird. |

haven't heard too much about the lag but I have heard about how people are absolutely abusing onside kicks because supposedly if you kick it at the right strength you have around 75% chance to recover it. The inconsistency in tackling is my issue. How can I not wrap someone up with AH or Fletcher, but yet the computers dbs can withstand a hit stick from Cooley all day long. I even had freakin Peyton Manning break out of a sack and rush for about 8-10 yards on me yesterday. |
Re: Madden 2011
Anybody wanna post their depth charts?
Alot of posters have told me online that their McNabb keeps getting hurt during preseason, so i didnt want to take any chances, so i knew i needed to sign a good backup QB for insurance. I looked for Brunell & Garcia in the Free Agents, but i guess they arent in the game. So I signed Marc Bulger (77 OVR). He got hurt in week 3 and Sexy Rexy has a dislocated elbow, so I may have to sign or trade for a QB to back up McNabb until my other guys get better. So I have: QB: McNabb, Bulger, Grossman RB: Johnson, Portis, Parker |
Re: Madden 2011
In my first season with a new Madden I never make any moves unless I have to because of an injury. I just like to play it straight up. But there sure are a few quality free agents out there to start. I really had to resist not signing T.O.

Re: Madden 2011
I bought it for the PS3 and what I dont like is how much they have taken away from player. I mean they make up that gameflow feature which is nothing more than "ask madden" and then to push that feature they make selecting a play from the playbook cumbersome. Also, maybe I am just missing it but what button is the sprint button??? This is my first madden game for the PS3 so I cant compare it to the older verisons but reasons like this is why it is a shame that the NFL sold its rights to EA...
|
Re: Madden 2011
There is no sprint button
|
Re: Madden 2011
You can turn sprint back on if you want. And you can turn gameflow off so that option doesn't come up.
|
Re: Madden 2011
i'm not home right now to look at the manual, but how do you swim move, disengage from blockers when playing as DL? I couldn't get anything using the right stick...

Re: Madden 2011
Can anyone tell me how to switch to the teams alternate or classic uniforms??? I see it in the trailers for the game, but dont know how to do it. It's embarassing.

Damn, somebody's panties are in a twist today...wanna change screen names for 24 hours?

Yeah, you hit x at the matchup screen to get to settings. Then RT over until you get to the Uniform tab. (360) |
Re: Madden 2011
Any one with madden on ps3 want to start a league?

Re: Madden 2011
Anybody else notice that the Madden version of Shanahan looks rather like ol' George W. Bush? Cracks me up every time I see him.
|
Re: Madden 2011
I keep getting the first down marker cut scene on like downs when it is 4th and 15, so weird!
|
Re: Madden 2011
I haven't gotten a first down cut scene period...odd

Now that you mention it he kinda does. |
Re: Madden 2011
There are definitly some patches in order for this game.
|
Re: Madden 2011
My major gripe is that little lag that happens when you snap the ball sometimes, really throws off your timing
|
Re: Madden 2011
Must be an X-box thing because I don't get that. I experienced it with extra points in NCAA though.
|
Re: Madden 2011
Has anybody else played with the weather settings and did the "Holiday" presentation?? It really made me feel like it was Christmas time with the snow on the field, people dressed in Santa suits, and the little wreath and christmas lights on the EA Sports and score bar....it was awesome
|
Re: Madden 2011
How the hell do you bring down A. Peterson? Nothing works with this guy...he just bulldozes his way to the endzone. 7 broken tackles...so stupid.
|
Re: Madden 2011
I had a strange glitch last night against the Eagles, I attempted a long FG right before the end of the half that came up short so that set up a return. Holding was called during the return on the Eagles, they spotted the ball at my 1 yard line and the Eagles were able to kick a FG. Say what?
|
Re: Madden 2011
I saw the strangest glitch just now. I am playing Dallas in Dallas and the roof is closed. It's ****ing raining all over the field and the Jerrytron. WTF?
|

Sprinklers. I bet Jerry did it on purpose too. Were you using the Skins against Dallas? If so, that explains it all...McNabb would have been smoking their D. Smoke...fire...sprinklers. |
Re: Madden 2011
HAHA
Another gripe, I cannot find a autosave function. I just finished the last several games of the season and the game froze right after the last regular season game was over. Now I have to go back and play them again. Needless to say I have lost my will. It's just deflating. |
Re: Madden 2011
I had the same issue with rain inside the JerryDome, eh I still beat them 28-3. I don't think Madden has had an autosave or a while, I could be wrong but I don't remember seeing that last year.
My biggest gripe with the game is tackling, it is damn near impossible to do so. I have a tendency of trying to go for the strip when I make a tackle, but apparently that renders my player unable to bring down the opposing player. I could be tackling a small RB with Kemo and the RB is able to get away. It is ridiculous. I played against the Titans and Vikings, and I bring an all out blitz to stop the run, and both Peterson and Johnson go by unscathed through my blitz. |

Re: Madden 2011
I'm still debating whether to buy this game once I get back on my feet and get a job. I bought it last year but it was really a waste of money, I used to be big on franchise mode but even when I had a job up until recently I had no time to run a franchise and thusly never played it much, except the occasional game when a friend came over. I don't want to buy it if I'm not gonna have the time to play it anymore, and some of your reviews have made me especially hesitant. Is there anything that really makes it better than last year?

The Vikings absolutely smoked me. I can't believe I got my butt whupped like that by the CPU. Peterson is unstoppable. |
Re: Madden 2011
I seem to always be good on defense but struggle on offense. I make a lot of audibles on defense and normally tackle using just the square point.
I have also learned to tackle where the ball runner is going to not just towards him. IT is all about the angles on defense, if you make a B-line to AP must times he is going to go right by you but if you anticipate where he is going you can normally take him down, takes practice. |
Re: Madden 2011
well my lady got me a PS3 and madden. needless to say i am happy since im not a video game guy and only play madden and on the Wii it just wasnt the same.
so i am getting my feet wet again with the real madden. so far i am 7 games into my first season. currently on pro level which will be moved up. im 7-0, shut out the comp for the first few games. closest game was against indy where i won 24-17 with manning failing to convert on a 4th and goal with seconds left. im coming off Wii where i would go 14-2 in reg season, 50/50 on winning the SB on all madden. but i am taking my time getting used to the PS3 madden. Wii was a more open game where i could absolutely torch oppossing defenders on long passes where i took control of my receiver well before the ball got there. on PS3 it seems its harder for me to take control of the receiver and get him into position to make a catch 1 on 1. so far i am liking it. surprised aobut how lil i was missing from the Wii version which actually has a much funner game play. With the Wii remote you can quickly thrust it forward for a dart pass or do a slow arching throw motion for a lob pass. your running back juke moves you move the remote left or right. with the PS3 its harder to unlearn those actual hand motion controlled features. re tackling, ive also noticed non agressive contain angles work well on the outside as long as your willing to give up a lil yards and cushion vs blazing full speed up the field trying to knock out the ball carrier. |
Re: Madden 2011
I'm guessing you're playing on All-Madden?
Actually I was playing All-Pro. I've been more careful with tackling, but the likes of Chris Johnson and Adrian Peterson will run all over me. I have to basically do all out blitzes in obvious running situations. |
