i don't understand how beating a woman relates to a big screen tv and a premium surround sound system. let his past stay in the past. just because something terrible happened in KC doesn't mean he's doomed to repeat it here |
Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week Whatever)
Football news, Eagles Safety Marlin Jackson out for the season. He was a free agent acquisition from the Colts.
Philadelphia Eagles safety Marlin Jackson ruptures Achilles tendon, lost for season - ESPN I wonder if this will put the Eagles in the Otogwe bidding. |

I'd answer the same to anyone else.. not sure what point I may have missed of matty's and I know that my scenario is more extreme than his was.. just saying that it's easy to relate to being bothered by sound issues |
Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week Whatever)
So OJ Atogwe will be a free agent tonight, and is a great FS, a position we're shaky at. He played under Haslett, and is famous for beating us with that Pete Kendall fumble returned for a TD right before the end of the first half. Do we sign this guy? I definitely think we should.
Also being that Santana may face a suspension, and Randy Moss may not be in NE after this year, do you all think the skins should try and make some sort of trade to get Moss? I think its definitely worth a look, and I would take Randy over TO any day of the week. |

A trade for Randy Moss is not a good idea. Though the last time he was a free agent, wasn't Randy Moss looking at the Eagles? (until Belichick brainwashed him to stay in NE) If he was a free agent, yeah, but not for a trade. |
Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week Whatever)
I had Atogwe rated really low when he was franchised in 2008, because he wasn't really a good cover guy nor a particularly aggressive player. I thought he did a lot better for the Rams in 2009, and had him rated as a well above average player this offseason, but I can't stress enough how disturbing it is that he's available now. I mean, it wasn't difficult at all for the Rams to keep him if they wanted to, and while salary was certainly a consideration, the Rams basically feel they are better off having a free roster spot rather than having Atogwe on the roster.
I mean, teams do make mistakes on this kind of thing (see: Jansen, Jon, 2009), and I think he fills a pretty big need here, and the connection to Haslett is obvious. It wouldn't be a bad add if the Redskins go in his direction (and I expect them to). But I don't know how long a contract I'd want to throw out there, if this is longer than 2-3 years, it's probably overvaluing him as a player. |
Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week Whatever)
Its official !!!The Rams neglected to upgrade O.J. Atogwe's tender offer to $6.976 million, allowing him to reach unrestricted free agency.
He'd be a great pick up, pair him with Landry(SS), and the safties are set for the next 3-4yrs... |

The Eagles now have lost someone important to a season-ending injury two years in a row. Last year, it was Stuart Bradley. |
Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week Whatever)
Shefter didn't even mention us as a possible landing spot.. I think it was him that said didn't expect Philly to get him
who knows |
Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week Whatever)
I honestly don't get the whole lets throw future draft picks or players trades to pick up some other teams WR's? I'd rather save those picks and players and pick up T.O. at no extra cost with a strick contract regarding personal conduct on or off the field.

I agree with TO, but what other receivers are being talked about at this point? |

Not now, but it all started with Marshall. Then Anquan Boldin and there were a few others. |

gotcha. I thought I missed another exciting off-season rumor.

Interesting. Ma'ake Kemoeatu moved well in defensive warmup sprint. Guess his Achilles is improving. less than 10 seconds ago via Echofon I guess I am not sure how much this means, but IF he gets healthy for the season, that will be huge for the team. |
Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week Whatever)
His rehab seems to be moving along well. Definitely good news for Kemo.
|
Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week Whatever)
^ I thought he has said in a few interviews he's about 90% but the team doesn't want to push it and is making him take it slow. Him moving well is a great sign.
|
Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week Whatever)
having kemo healthy would be huge for us. signing him might be my favorite move of the offseason.

I thought he'd be unavailable for anything before August. In related news, BHA must be sleeping or something. Because this news would instantly prompt (I'm sure) to make some connection between this and an Albert Haynesworth trade |
Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week Whatever)
We are worse off without Haynesworth. We won't get proper compensation for him. We wouldnt be playing Haynesworth at NT anyway or shouldn' be. A Haynesworth DE, Kemo NT, Carriker DE front looks much stronger than a Carriker DE, Kemo NT, Daniels DE front. And when you have a OLB blitzing from Haynesworth side, that basically puts him back to the inside. He may be falling behind in the playbook, but how many assignments will he possibly hafta memorize as a space eater?

Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week Whatever)
Mike Shanahan on OJ Atogwe:
Shanahan noncommittal on O.J. Atogwe If the Redskins have any interest in free agent safety O.J. Atogwe, head coach Mike Shanahan isn't tipping his hand. Atogwe, a five-year veteran, became an unrestricted free agent Wednesday when the St. Louis Rams chose not to extend him an offer. "Well, even if I did [have interest], I wouldn't share that with you, for obvious reasons," Shanahan said. "But we're always interested to upgrade our football team and if it helped us with the right situation and the price is right and somebody's available, we're always going to look into it." I still think we should get him... |
1. Calais Campbell, Cardinals defensive end. Campbell produced 7.0 sacks in his first season as a starter, more than predecessor Antonio Smith has ever managed in a season. Sacks aren't everything, particularly for a 3-4 end, but Campbell is already better than some veteran starters. He'll earn $470,000 in salary this season on a deal averaging $726,250 per season. Parker is the obvious man out if we manage to sign Westbrook.

Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week Whatever)
I like Willie Parker, I always have, but if he's got very little burst now, he's going to have a tough time beating out Keiland Williams, much less Brian Westbrook.
I've got a soft spot for Williams as I have in-laws in LA and I've become a pretty big LSU fan since I met my wife. Because of this, I watched him play a lot in college and I've always liked him. He seemed to have good speed for a college back and could take it to the house if you got him into space. How that will translate to the NFL? I have absolutely no idea, but I liked him at LSU and I liked him coming out. I was happy when the Skins got him, but I don't know if he's built for the NFL. The Shanahans will have to make that decision, but I'm rooting for the kid to do well and beat out whoever he needs to to make this roster. Also, it wouldn't hurt to have a little bit of youth in the backfield. |

A farm, like baseball should be negotiated as a part of the next cba. |
