dang sirCP, you are all doom n gloom this year buddy. that must suck to be taking this seasons 4-5 record off a 4-12 season so seriously. my advice is to try and find the silver lining in this upcoming game. maybe trent looks good, maybe we knock a few titans on their backs, ya know stuff like that. if we end up 7-9 or 8-8, thats real progress imo.

Just want to make sure my math skills are right. Currently we are 4-5. So to be 7-9 we would need to win 3 out of 7 remaining games. Which is 43%. So if we are a 45% / 55% w/l team like you said, than 7-8 wins kinda fits about where we would be. If we were a 3 outta 4 type team, people would be talking 10-11 wins.

I think most people agree that we have as much chance to lose any given game, but we have made opportunities to win many of the games as well.

It's fine tho', clearly these aren't the dominant Skins of '91, and if that's the only way that you can have positive comments about them then that's the way it is.

Buchanon vs. Randy Moss is not a matchup anyone can seriously be comfy about. Same thing for R. Moss vs. Hall.
Combine that with our lolsafety corps when Landry is not there...someone is going to break a big one. If not Moss, the CJohnson.

Small bites, but there's going to be a bunch of guys retiring and leaving for FA in the next three years. This improvement is transient, and not going to last past McNabb's last season here, whenever it is.

I'd much rather see Doughty playing at strong safety, which is his natural position, than playing at free. And we'll see how Buchanon steps up tomorrow. We did get a bit of luck that Kenny Britt is out tomorrow as well, if he could've played we would've had a much harder time. Randy Moss will still be a factor but hopefully he's still rusty.

It doesn't really matter if Landry is gone, he can't cover to save his life. Rogers is an okay cover guy, which is sad considering how average the rest of our CBs are that he is possibly the best cover guy. DHall is playing right? He should be lining up on Moss. Hopefully we win this one like the others, other team just keeps shooting themselves in the foot and we hang on.

I think it's pretty sad how much we underestimate Carlos Rogers. It's like people think him having bad hands translates to him being a worthless corner. He is our best corner, easily better than D.Hall, and they make a nice combo because while Carlos is our true #1 corner, and can't catch to save his life, D.Hall is one of those guys who makes big plays with his picks, but he is not nearly the cover guy that Rogers is.

I think we will see just how valuable Rogers is to this team when he's not out there tomorrow.

Noone is underestimating Rogers but he is our best cover guy because the rest of our CB corp. is average. Rogers was a high first round draft pick -- Is he in the top 10 cover corners in the league? top 20? that's my point, he can cover but I would rather DHall is there because the opposing WRs are going to have big games no matter who is guarding them, with Hall there's more of a chance of a game-changing INT.

Randy Moss will have big plays against Buchanon and Hall. We need coverage and we don't have it.

Rogers is also physical. Chris Johnson is going to make Buchanon like a dork.

The way I see it, VY is so fragile he hurts himself just sliding so I don't see him playing a whole game. Plus, if Dallas can go out and dominate a very good Giants team IN NY with Alan "Sorry Ass" Ball at FS and without their best top two CBs in the game, then I don't see why we can't go down and beat the Titans. Last I checked, VY is no Eli.

No way am I saying that Rogers is not that good.. As some of you might remember, I have advocated in getting contract extension for Rogers for a while.. I'm assuming that Buchanon will fill in spot well, only because Britt is not playing, which leaves Gage alone with Randy Moss.. Granted, Hall is not shut-down corner but I think we can afford to leave Hall alone with Moss, only because Moss is still learning Titans' playbook (even he admitted he still makes some mistakes in practices). Also we have Moore to 'fly' over to Moss and Hall if Collins plan to throw some bombs.. And then I'm certain Buchanon can cover Gage. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that we have favorable match-ups.. I am just trying to lighten up the scenario by having hopes.. Nothing more.

However, I'm really concerned about Doughty only because of his speed. There is absolutely no way Doughty can catch up with Chris Johnson, so Doughty must not blow his containment assignments. Not even once.

The sad part is that we have --more often than not-- relied on key players getting injured or one-trick ponies(Garrett, Romo, Choice) that won't ever happen again to win games.

I know I sound defeatist this week, but this is as fed up as I've been in a while. If any coach that didn't have Shanahan's name had made the blunders he's made this season, his seat would be scalding hot.

Watching NFL countdown on ESPN... They keep showing Vick highlights from Monday night. It kind of feels like when Parcells robbed us in the Jason Taylor trade. Andy Reid stole our lunch money big-time. McNabb is playing like garbage, we gave up multiple picks for him, and all Philly is left with is Vick... and our picks... There isn't a facepalm icon big enough for this one.
