First of all, don't bag on VA Tech. I'm a big fan and have had friends and family graduate from there. Secondly, it's up to the safeties to be in position and much to often this year, they have been out of position.
Oh come on, it's too fun, but I wanted to get a rise out of someone else, not you :). As far as the safeties, yes they are sometimes, a lot of the times, but you can't deny that Hall gives the WR's up way too soon. |
Re: Rogers Frustrated By Some Redskins Fans
I didn't say he sucks, I said he's a good cover corner-but he's not great and doesn't do anything special. If Fletcher, Carter, Rak, Daniels, LoAx or someone else on the defense whose level of play justified their level of talk said something like this I wouldn't care but Los has diarrhea of the mouth and he's not good enough at his WHOLE job to talk that much.
Sure, he'll get a decent contract on the open market, under 30, good player on the man, mostly healthy but he's a headache and a prima donna.
Are you serious?? I think you just described Albert Haynesworth. |

Moore can't tackle either. He might be worse than Hall. |
Hall is terrible and I'm tired of people acting like he's God because he had 4 picks in one game against the suck Jay Cutler.
Terrible?? C'mon. He's not a strong man cover guy but he's got great ball skills. There is a lot worse out there. |
Very True.
"watching the Redskins corners week after week is a roller coaster ride. While Hall is more of a playmaker, he tends to be streaky in coverage while Rogers is a reliable cover man. Re: Rogers Frustrated By Some Redskins Fans
The only complaints I have had with our secondary is the amount of cushion they allow some receivers. Of course, I'm not sure if that is the design of the defensive secondary, or if that is personal preference with the DBs. Usually, neither Rogers nor Hall gets beat deep. I think what happens when you see our secondary getting picked apart is the lack of help from our safeties. Much to often this year, our safeties have been out of position which causes blown coverages. So, I can't say I have been too upset with Rogers or Hall. Would love for Rogers to have more INTs, but I just don't believe that will ever happen. I'm just happy he has the talent to break up passes when they're thrown his way.
I chose to quote you over Insane cause you were hitting the whole secondary... My questions to both of you is .... is there any possible way that, that was Haslett's game plan? Keep the game in front of them. Insane brought up a good point about Hall letting the WR run past him but if he's supposed to be in a zone and sitting there then it would be Landry's job to pick up the WR which didn't happen. My issue is we have corners that are better at man-to-man and we are making them sit 5-10 yrds off the WR. Even if it's a zone package I feel we should be playing our CB's on the line jamming the WR to throw off the timing of the route and then fall into their zone package. Instead the CB's let the WR's get up to speed and juke them into a wrong move and their wide open. |

My mistake.. I had bears winning division and Minny getting wild card... |
Re: Rogers Frustrated By Some Redskins Fans
I have an idea Rogers...shut your damn trap and win some games....you get millions to do so while the fans pay a ton of money to watch you win....not saying booing is ever ok...but it is not the role of the entertainer to question the level of applause they get...if the applause is weak...it is likely that the performance was weak....OWN IT, JACK!

Re: Rogers Frustrated By Some Redskins Fans
So the players aren't allowed to do anything but think about the game? They aren't allowed to have private discussions about the fans, their concerns, their thoughts on the season, their careers etc.?
Yeah they're allowed to, but how long has Rogers had the interception dropsies? Him talking about this with the media and discussing this with other players - goes to show you where his focus and priorities are. You can talk about anything you want, but if you want to improve on your obvious faults that can mean winning and losing the game, then I would think you talk about and work on that. And his way of discussing the fans is a subtle way of throwing us under the bus. |

Are you serious?? I think you just described Albert Haynesworth.
Post season 2008, Rogers wants to be traded.. Post season 2009, Rogers 'I'm outta here!', offseason 2010, Rogers skips some OTA until he talks to Shanny and gets his ego stroked.. Similar to Fat Al, no? Look, I won't burn the house down if he re-signs with us. He's a decent/good corner but his mouth outweighs his talent, that's all I am saying. When healthy and playing well I will take Rogers-Hall-Buchanon over any other top 3 CB in the division because they give a good mix of good coverage and playmaking ability. I'd just be more of a fan of his if he'd shut up as much as he shuts down. Oh yeah, and catch balls that a third grade girl could catch. |
Re: Rogers Frustrated By Some Redskins Fans
Are you talking about my prediction?
I had 14-2...lol not 12-4 I was so-so on my predictions this season so far.. I was wrong about the Eagles being bad Minny winning div. Redskins going 14-2
LOL. You predicted this team would go 14-2 and then talk about talent like you have a full grasp on it? What made you think the talent level changed from a 4-12 team to a 14-2 team? I think this all goes back to my statement earlier about Redskin fans over estimating the talent on our team. It can be hilarious or sad depending on how you look at it. |
Re: Rogers Frustrated By Some Redskins Fans
... and let's not get this twisted - he's not just shooting the breeze with these comments. He discussed this with his teammates and thought enough about it to bring it up to the media.
Rogers talked about the fans like it was a big reason they did not do well. Here's another quote: "I think we play better away because the fans are quieter." |
Re: Rogers Frustrated By Some Redskins Fans
People are making way too many assumptions here. He answers one question about the fans and comments that he's mentioned it to his teammates and suddenly this shows where his priorities are?
You know what else Rogers talked about yesterday? He talked about being frustrated the D is ranked last, his hamstring injury, needing to not think playoffs and just take it one game at a time, So you know what I'm just going to focus on the fact that he mentioned he's upset the D is ranked last and say why the hell are you talking about it jackass?! Get out there and do something about it, where are your damn priorities you ra-tard! |

Talking about assumptions - look at that last quote and try to explain that away. I'm not assuming anything, rogers is telling me everything that I needed to hear from an ungrateful punk. |

This thread is full of fail. Props to those of you who made sense in here with good posts about what Carlos actually contributes to the team, and make no mistake he does contribute, because if he didn't contribute he wouldn't be our #1 corner and his ass would've been gone faster than Devin Thomas'. I'm not gonna bother coming back to this thread simply because it's been overrun with Skins fans demanding Rogers' head for his lack of playmaking skills, and those of us assuming that Rogers doesn't care about his multi-million dollar job at all, and is consumed with how much hate he has for fans simply because idiots can't support the team at games. He just needs to realize this is a problem that will never end until the team consistently wins games, because that is the only time fans might not boo (check with Philly to see fans that boo even when the team wins games consistently). |
Re: Rogers Frustrated By Some Redskins Fans
One thing I've never understood was the emotional disdain that some fans have for athletes. I personally don't hate any athlete, I realize at the end of the day it's just a game. So why would I waste any of my energy directing it towards someone I don't personally know.
I mean, I have guys I cheer against, but I don't confuse that with hate. So it's mortifying as to why fans invest so much emotionally into these athletes. Lastly, Rogers should realize that the fans have every right to boo. Start catching the myriad of balls that bounces off his hands, and I'll guarantee you he'll hear cheers. |
Re: Rogers Frustrated By Some Redskins Fans
I don't know how I feel about booing. I was a student-athlete in high school and I never booed when the boys teams played, they never booed when we played and.. I don't know. I just can't imagine booing the home team. If I don't like how the team is playing, I bitch. I come here and bitch to other fans, I bitch to the people I'm sitting with... But I just can't imagine booing.
I think that's just about as unclassy as it gets. Its not like the players want to suck and lose... |
Re: Rogers Frustrated By Some Redskins Fans
Its a bad title. I dont know what you all have I read, I read they felt like the crowd was silent, and waiting to get loud and rock the stadium. Carlos said he heard some negative stuff O.K. Thats all. There is nothing to it and thats it.
It sounds like Insane Boost has brained washed some folks here. That dude aint even a fan, he is Black Ops for Dallas. |

That is why I am mad at Snyder, not the players. I don't question any of the players effort. We are a bottom half talent team. Btw I hope no one actually thinks that we are a better team without Carlos, no matter how you took what he said. |

Yeah, actually I do. I've offered buddies of mine tix with me to Redskins games before, and do you know what they said? "Good, it'll give me the opportunity to let 'em know how much they suck." And that's coming from the mouth of a "fan." Needless to say I'm not gonna be offering him any tix in the future, and I don't even talk to him anymore. So you've gotta be pretty stupid to believe fans logically debate the finer points of booing their favorite team. Do you honestly believe people sit there and say something along the lines of, "Gee, I don't really want to be doing this, but booooooooooooooo! you suck! your bums! get off the field rogers, you couldn't catch a cold if a sick person sneezed in your face!" You don't think I haven't spent money to watch the Redskins play, or spent money buying items that identify myself as a Redskins fan? They're not forcing you to spend money, you can stay home and watch a game for free, and the food and drink you'll eat will be cheaper than attending a game too! |

Btw I hope no one actually thinks that we are a better team without Carlos, no matter how you took what he said.
I wonder if this is at the root of most of the booing at times, booing the organization and how frustrating it's been-it just comes out when we have yet another 3 and out or blown assignment or dropped INT. These things happen to every team in the league but we're so hungry for a consistent winner and our expectations are so high, it's easy to blast a player for a bad play because you're fed up with who he represents. That being said, so I can remain consistent, Los-stop dropping INT and I'll stop calling you a bum. Resume banter. |

Now to curse, be drunk and crazy-acting pissed off at the stadium(or anytime in public for that matter) of course not. Booing is actually tradition, mostly intended for the other team...But look at the economics of just going to a game and especially rabid fans with season tickets, its not cheap at all. Now im not sitting here like that idoit Chad on the radio and say Im owed something..but it you see a franchise not trying win, constant bad decisions from the front office, or a general lack of effort from the team on the field...boo loud. But there really should be none of that this season, we are a 180 from last season. To bring up last season, if I attended a game I woulda been boooing all game, we were at rock bottom as a franchise for the first time ever. |
