Is anyone else a little confused about this quote? Are we going to play more 4-3 than we did last year? There's no way we're switching back to a 4-3. And why would we play more 4-3 than when Haynesworth was here? It seems to me that since we're bringing in more personnel to play the 3-4, we should play the 3-4 more this year instead of less. |

Sorry man , i was being a smart ass , as Hayensworth was crying about the 3-4 . I think we are sticking w/ the 3-4 . I would assume Cofield will play both NT and end ? |
Re: Chris Chester Signs
Chester video finished. Now I have to wait an hour for it to process and upload. Thanks to CBS for using a lot of end zone views and Visa sky cams on their replays. Chester video would have been practically worthless without them.

I should've recognized that but I couldn't find a hint of sarcasm or anything in your post. It's all good. And I'd assume Cofield will just play DT full time, in whatever package we're in. We'll probably still rotate but Cofield should get the majority of snaps. |
Re: Chris Chester Signs
we'll probably keep bowen at DE and rotate cofield at NT and DE will rotating our over 42 DL guys into the 3rd spot (whatever it happens to be) until we figure out what works best and settle it down.

Yea, thats a head scratcher. Do we even have a proper starting nose tackle? |

Judge for yourself. Right Guard #65
[YT]BnklI3Of0ZQ[/YT]
Newly signed Free Agent OL Chris Chester plays Right Guard in this opening round playoff contest against the Chiefs. Sorry the editing isn't as clean as the other videos but the replays offered the best views of Chester's blocks, especially considering that Chester played Guard in this game (a position usually obstructed with the traditional sideline view). Videos for newly signed Skins Barry Cofield and Stephen Bowen will be posted in the near future. You can also expect play by play for Beck and maybe the Running Backs for the upcoming preseason.
|
it's tough to judge based on that. They run a power run scheme and we run a ZBS. Dockery was a good power run guard, but sucked in our ZBS system. Chester, it seems, didnt' fit in there power run scheme, but will most likely excel in ours. |

what stat is that? 8th in total yards? If so it was probably because our defense sucked so bad we were always behind and had to throw to catch up.If our passing game was so impresive why we trading our starting qb for a 5th round pick? |

Thanks for putting that together DB.

No problem. Actually much easier now then when I first started. The Beck videos, my first two, took me like 1.5 hours each. Now I only need like half an hour to put together an 8 minute video. Some take as little as 20 minutes.
Shout out to dirtbag on his tapes btw
Careful man. All these compliments and pretty soon I'm going to be signing my post with a sharpie.
it's tough to judge based on that. They run a power run scheme and we run a ZBS. Constantly gets to the second level, knows who to get on blitzes, and he's probably the best puller we've seen since Randy Thomas in his prime. Rice didn't put up great rushing numbers in this game but it certainly wasn't Chester's fault, many plays he was the only guy getting a push at the LOS. I was even more impressed that he was playing the more difficult Right Guard spot (regarded by Ross Tucker as the second toughest position on the O-Line.) Only problem is he tends to waist bend at times. However after getting a chance to see him I have to say it's obvious why he was targeted by our FO and coaching staff. |

Lol, no don't worry about it. I don't care about getting a bunch of subscribers. If I did I would take the time to put those captions in my videos. I'm still small enough that the NFL hasn't taken notice of an account with a bunch of videos featuring footage of their broadcast without their expressed written consent and I hope to keep it that way. |
Judge for yourself. Right Guard #65
Nice bro, or should I say, niiice, King of Posting Timely YouTube Videos. I found it hard to watch Chester the first time I watched it simply because it was nice to just watch football highlights again. But I managed to watch Chester the second time and other than the fact that the entire video was against their matchup against the Chiefs in the playoffs, he did okay. There were a few plays where he didn't end up blocking anyone in particular, but on the plays he was blocking someone one-on-one he did a good job using his leverage and his hands and not getting taken advantage of with a bull rush or anything. I think there was only one play in the video where it showed him pulling but I didn't get a good eye on it. But on the bright side he does look young and mobile, which is a good thing for our zone blocking scheme. Overall not bad, I think he'll be a decent guard at minimum, but he won't be dominating anyone either. |

Please do keep it small time. I enjoy your vids as well especially since it's hard to be able to keep NFL footage vids up on Youtube without them finding out about it and shutting them down. |

If worst comes to worst, there's always making them private and sharing the linkys to up to 50 "worthy" viewers. :D |

Re: Chris Chester Signs
ThatGuy - I agree. He doesn't have a ton of raw power, but he does have this sort of mean streak along with a motor that serves him well and he also seems to understand angles and combo blocks. He may not be a pro bowler but he is a very good fit for what this team is looking for up front, maybe even a perfect fit.
No denying that he can move though. Would be interesting to see how agile and fast he is compared to Williams. |

top passing yard teams: 1 Indianapolis Colts 2 San Diego Chargers 3 New Orleans Saints 4 Houston Texans 5 Green Bay Packers 6 Dallas Cowboys 7 Denver Broncos 8 Washington Redskins 9 Philadelphia Eagles 10 New York Giants 11 New England Patriots colts and saints passed 75 and 55 more times than we did, we had 37 less points than the next lowest on the list, and our QB rating was 78, the next lowest was 85.3 for the gints. our completion % was 57.7, tied with the broncos, the rest were all 62 or better. btw, the chief threw 366 times (to our 305) and finished 31st in passing yards, so no, it's not super inflated cause we were behind, and QB was the WORST part of our passing game (low QB rating, low completion %), so the passing game DID NOT suck, was NOT overinflated due to being behind (though that would increase the yardage some, plenty of crappy teams did far worse). the lack of winning had to do with the 18.9 ppg (25th), QB rating of 78 (22nd), 46 sacks (5th highest , or 27th best at protection), and the 57.7% completions (23rd). All stats from nfl.com under 2010 passing offense if you need to verify, but they're not lying here. passing O was good despite crappy QB play and bad blocking. |

Most important part though is I think he's capable of blocking Haynesworth's overpaid butt on December 11th. |

Not a bad team to emulating. Plus we're signing younger talent. This is a weird off season for a lot of reasons. |
