And I wouldn't see the evil of cutting Hall and his $6 million salary, and then bringing him back at 1 year/$1.5 million. It's more than he would get elsewhere, he can still wear the 'C' patch on gamedays, and we're saving more than $4 million on the cap to do so.
I like this idea though my intuition is a restructure w/ us is more likely because some franchise will pick up Hall on a 3 yr contract.

And the 1.625% has you leaning where? Also I have no problem with adding Schmitt. We were carrying 2 FBs last year and it's not as if Darrell Young is Vonta Leach.

Darrel Young had some bad tape last year. He's clearly talented and has upside, but...is a fullback.

Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Chapter III)
Someone would probably pay him more than 1.5 million. Besides.. he's still probably our best corner, which isn't saying mcuh. Hopefully Morris can get him to play to his potential.
My thinking is that his suitors were relatively limited back in 2009 when if nothing else, he was pretty young for a free agent CB. He's still got plenty of ability left, but there's no one playing a lot more cover two anymore than the Redskins and the Steelers (and Bears), and Hall's kind of made himself into a cover two CB. So I'm pretty confident we'd get him on a one year deal if we cut him.

Chicago's GM was in Atlanta when Hall was there, so that could be an interesting angle. I'm not saying I know what they would do either. I just know that the teams who would be interested in Hall would be minimal. He hasn't exactly turned his reputation around since he's been here.

Bottom line is, if he actually wants to be here, and we're going to let him start, then this is the only opportunity he's got in the NFL like that, meaning the Redskins can pick their price. And IMO, they should.

Daryl Young is a solid young full back in my opinion, however I didn't watch much of his blocking, but I did see his great juking and run after the catch ability..very impressive for a former LB.

I was actually impressed with Darryl Young playing FB last year. He looked unstoppable in the 2nd Giants game last season.

Last month, Pilar Sanders filed a $200 million defamation lawsuit against her husband. She was responding to a tweet from Deion's daughter, Deiondra, which said Pilar was a "gold-digging [expletive]." Deion later explained that the statement couldn't be defamation because it's true.

Well, if we don't draft some O-linemen, I don't care who we have kicking -- we'll still be watching blocked field goals. Pretty sure Rackers wouldn't have helped the 5 blocked field goals (and a blocked extra point) from last year!

As long as we don't waste a draft pick on a kicker or punter (again) or watching the Swinging Gate, I'm fine with whoever we have. Rackers at 36years old is still viable for a kicker. Although I wouldn't mind seeing Gano again, seemed like he was getting better and is younger. Aside from the blocks, only missed 5 FGs last year, and made a long 59 yarder.

I still remember how our special teams FG line let Calais Campbell and his 6'8" frame run by untouched during one of those blocked FGs.

Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Chapter III)

I've always been a huge fan of Rackers. I'd love to get him.

Gano looks promising. He hit a lot of game-winners for us and long FGs...but he can't seem to find consistency. He misses kicks he should easily make. He's mastered the high-pressure kicks and has a monster of a leg on kickoffs now, but he needs to be reliable all of the time.

I won't be upset if we go with Gano for another year, he's been improving yearly and having a young kicker we can rely on for a decade-plus would be great...but he needs to prove he's the man this year or goodbye. Rackers would be reliable and probably an upgrade but he's aging. Then again, he could kick another 5-7 years since kickers can play well into their 40s.
Shahid Khan, the Jaguars' new owner, who made his fortune in auto-parts manufacturing, said he had the idea because he tries to meet all of the spouses of his employees. He said he has retreats in which his employees are encouraged to bring their spouses. Khan figured some of the things needed to be a solid player—like staying after practice or putting in extra work—require a stable home environment. The team's new coach, Mike Mularkey, spoke with Smith about the importance of a good family life during his interview process and just like that, a new NFL personnel theory was born.

"If you're happy at home with your wife at home, I think the energy level is higher," Mularkey said. "It's very important to me...There's a lot that goes with being married. I just believe the happier you are with your wife, the happier you are on the field. I really believe that."
In other words married guys are so scared of going home to their wives that they're more willing to stay late and work to avoid going home :D

Yeah, I've seen the married-people-are-better philosophy at play at my own work place. My experience is that it depends on the marriage. Happily married folks can be very productive. But single people tend to be happier, and thus more productive, than unhappily married people.
